Real Time Bottle Digging and Dirtfishing- Old Church Dump
A few viewers had asked for longer "real time" content clips so we let the camera roll for awhile to see what we could find- old soda bottles, vintage marbles, or whatever. #dirtfishing #bottledigging #oldbottles #marbles

Bottle Digging- 20 Degree Dig w/ The Dump King "Marbles" MacDonald
Переглядів 1,3 тис.14 днів тому
I decided to surprise (scare) Sean "Marbles" MacDonald by randomly showing up at a dump site where he was digging after telling him I couldn't make it. While I didn't do any digging or dirt fishing on my own, I did walk the area and look through his tailings and frass piles to see what he missed, or the bottles he passed on. Many of the bottles he doesn't want or doesn't collect are sometimes o...
The ZERO Dollar Disc Golf Course- (HOW TO make DIY Tone Pole Basket -Targets)
Переглядів 60721 день тому
Yes- I'm making a 9 hole disc golf course for ZERO dollars- and a perfectly playable one. I didn't want to spend ANYTHING on making my own backwoods disc golf course in a neighboring patch of town owned woods, so that's exactly what I did. ANYONE can make these- they're beyond easy. Sure, they're not official PGDA baskets or anything, but they're a satisfying enough target to throw at, weatherp...
We found a MOUNTAIN of old bottles- Just CRAZY! (and Creepy Old Antique Dolls)
Переглядів 21021 день тому
I decided to walk a well-dug dump in Massachusetts to see what surface finds I could grab and to check on my old dig site/hole. I came across a few old and creepy doll heads (they are always sought after and always seem to sell) and some fun, nice, overlooked bottles and even some stoneware. No marbles this time, but there was quite a bit to look at and I'll certainly be back some time. #oldbot...
$1.00 Yard Sale Old Antique Bottles- Score! (Bottle Digging)
Переглядів 432Місяць тому
Old Bottle Digging Sale! After Sean "Marbles" MacDonald's yard sale he had quite a few antique and embossed bottles left over and called me to mention he was going to list then all online for a buck or two each. So of course I had to head over to his place, cash in hand, to check it out. Almost all of these bottles were ones he dug. #bottledigging #marbles #oldbottles #dirtfishing
Vintage Marble haul at an abandoned house clean out
Переглядів 231Місяць тому
So I'm not really a marbles guy (yet- lol), but I can see how the hobby might get addicting, especially as I'm already into bottle digging and seems find quite a few of them as-is. Well, I did a house clean out a ways back (before it was slated to be torn down) and found a can or two of old vintage marbles. A friend already bought one off me for $20, so I'm curious as to whether or not there ar...
Abandoned Factory Site Bottle Digging in New England- Poisons!

Here's another bottle digging adventure. This site was newer to me, but the guys (Marbles and Bill Ladd) had both previously been here years in the past on separate occasions- apparently it's a well-enough known spot and has been for some time (and I can see that, as its pretty easy to find, makes locational sense, and most of the digs are in plain site- and some a total overt mess that others ...
TWO digging adventures- Marbles, Old Bottles, Figurines, and Toys!

Back at it- Bottle and dump digging with Sean "Marbles" MacDonald and Bill "The Metal Man" Ladd at two different sites. We find some pretty cool, if not eclectic, stuff this time around too- old toys, a few fairly rare bottles, porcelain figurines, marbles and much more- all while dirt fishing in an urban area. #bottledigging #oldbottles #dumpdigging #antiquebottles
Tunnel of Eels! -Bottle Digging and Mudlarking by a seaside city dump

We're back! Here's another trek with Sean "Marbles" MacDonald and I (Deek Diedricksen) as we hit a 1920s seaside city dump in search of "anything awesome". In this dig we DO find quite a few cool things- especially later when we turn from mudlarking to digging. #dirtfishing #bottledigging #antiquebottles #oldbottles Wanna sponsor us for a shout in one of the next videos?- or a plug for your bus...
Bottle Digging an OLD Town Dump (A Warner's Safe Cure and more!)

Here's another snippet of a bottle digging excursion that I went on with Sean "Marbles" MacDonald. It might be our last for awhile as Sean goes in for shoulder surgery soon (we wish him well!). Although I'm sure he and I can do some creek walking and tidal beach picking sooner than later. Anyway, check out some of the cool old bottles we unearthed in this old town landfill in Norton, MA. We broke a VERY valuable one!! Bottle Digging in an old Marina Dump
Переглядів 8265 місяців тому
While we found some "screama" (screamers) bottles on this very, very muddy dig in New Hampshire, we also found one particularly valuable bottle.... that we broke- talk about a heartbreaker! But as another digger friend we know says, "You ain't digging if you ain't breaking bottles". It happens. And it's tougher to see what you're doing and to be careful digging when everything is underwater wit...
Poison Ivy Swamp Dig For Old Antique Bottles and Pottery! (Yeah, I got it bad)
Переглядів 3916 місяців тому
Here you go- another trek DEEP into the woods with that madman "Marbles" MacDonald. to hunt for 1800s antique bottles in the Boston area. We find some really cool old glass and other items in this dig, AND I come across what might be one of my favorite bottles in a long time- and one I've NEVER seen before (neither had Sean). #bottledigging #oldbottles #mudlarking #dirtfishing #bottles
Weird finds in the City Marble Dump (Bottle Digging)
Переглядів 1,6 тис.7 місяців тому
Traveling back in time (you can see it was the end of winter), I go on a solo bottle hunting and digging trek to check out what Sean MacDonald refers to as "The Marble Dump" (where he has the record of 50 or so marbles found in one day). As we surface pick and dig for old and antique glass bottles we find quite a few other oddities- old lead or tin soldiers, baby items, and more. #bottlehunting...
Mystic River (Boston) TWO bottle digging/hunting sites! #bottledigging

In this clip Sean and I hit two Boston area locales to go mudlarking and river picking with some raking and bottle digging tossed in for good measure. Sean comes out with a pretty incredible find in this one and we ultimate grab some really cool stuff- all in the span of just 30 minutes at one of the sites(!). Marbles, cane heads, cool jars, medicine bottles, and you name it- we find quite a bi...

I don't show ALL 200 bottles- don't worry, BUT I do find quite a bit of weird stuff in this video adventure (that you WILL see) all in the span of just over an hour or so at a stream in a Brockton MA park- a park that once was a lake (they filled the lake in to create solid land and this public space/park- and to combat an inner city mosquito problem I'm sure!). In anywise, we find some cool vi...

Good tips! I found the #1 one is the signs. Too many people use small type thin as an ink pen and not thick enough to see while driving. I found that pretty boxes get their attention for looking through them. Luckily I have that for eBay inventory keeping.
Love the oddities that come out when digging.
The seam on a bottle doesn't represent the age of it.
dawg my nails are too long for that
Ive been trying to figure this out for years with no help except people trying to get specific ones for not a whole lot. I gave up, good luck on this.
Them agate marbles are worth some money. Especially if you can see the grinding patterns on it.
You guys are being too rough on the trash. I can't watch anymore 😂👍🤘 awesome finds 👍
Agreed- and we address that. "Marbles" mentions that in the video. He said "We usually don't dig this rough". We were actually done for the day and this whole video was him deciding to speed dig for marbles only as we hadn't found anything worthwhile in this spot.
Cool video ✨️👌hope you all have a wonderful week
Pretty good/helpful tips! Thankz! 😎👍👍
Life saver. Thanks!
I just found your channel and I dig it (pun intended!!)
are these outhouse areas...or are they truly dump sights............
Old neighborhood and village tips/dumps from late 1930s/40s to 1950s.
To any reading the comments (and thanks for watching)- The pole was a discarded old tent pole I believe. I found it when scrapping on the side of the road. You could also use old metal table-umbrella posts (tossed ALL the time), or the main legs of those easy-up expo tents (also thrown out frequently). Thin PVC pipes could be another possibility. The idea of all this is to NOT spend any money and to reuse things and keep them from a landfill- and well, for more renegade courses to spring up so that we all have more places to play!
Adding marbles inside for sound was mentioned but IF you had access to some cheap/free chains, you could also pin them from the top and have then drape against the sides of the jug for a more satisfying target "rattle" sound.
I love your ingenuity this is brilliant. I’ve designed disc golf courses for people on their property before only to be abandoned because of the basket cost. This is a perfect solution and not far off from some of the first disc golf baskets ever used. Thank you!
Thanks so much, and yeah, these jugs can be found curbside for free. OR you can simply ask people via local town Facebook groups to save them for you. My area/town doesn't have a course that is very close (well, except for Borderland State park- which is GREAT), but I thought it would be nice to have yet another option to play. I'll probably post an update video or two as I set-up all the other 8 holes. Thanks for the kind words- you have a page for your course work? We're also building one on 10 acres I own in VT- robot themed "Robo-Copse Disc Golf"
@ I don’t have any videos made on my channel. We have two fairly new disc golf courses near me. One is across the street from my house. Both are very good and well designed by prominent designers. I played before we got these with my daughter and we just used poles. Your idea is so good I just never thought of that. More people need to know about your idea. My best buddy moved to Virginia Beach and he wants to play but has no course near enough. I’m going to share this with him and maybe he could devise something near his neighborhood. I know he has an abandoned golf course close by. Thanks man this is good!
@@Cad1900 I would love to see some renegade no-dough "secret courses" pop up. The one I'm working on now has a few long drives too- one that (more work for me) crosses a creek to a little island of land. I'll be building a bridge for it. I want to attempt to make the holes fun- well, as fun as can be without money.
What a cool video hope you guys are having a good week
Thanks so much- we have a part 2 with some real-time digging coming up
Perfect solution to my current quandary
Glad we could be of utmost support. Thanks for checking it out
Put a few marbles in them for more sound! Looks awesome!
Thats a decent idea actually. Or make the jug airtight and shoe-goo a few kazoos protruding from it. When the disc hits and causes a pressure differential, it'll be sweet-sweet duck-music echoing through the woods.
Amazing. it worked, thanks so much!
Your thoughts? Please leave a comment. Thanks! Once this is done I'll probably post WHERE it is.
Oh mannnnn you didn’t grab the sweet flat screen????? 😂
Awesome video and dump spot! My son Lew and I enjoyed watching this very much. We would of taken the Rob's Root Beer bottle. LOL! Still a lot of nice finds to be found there. Hay, don't feel bad, we have forgotten to bring bags on our travels. Then we find nice stuff or keepers on our exploration walks. 🙂We like digging in the dumps of the 1920's,1930's, and 1940's in Massachusetts or New Hampshire. We are looking forward to digging in the spring of 2025. We are looking forward to watching more of your videos. Take care and happy hunting to you.----Jeffrey Hull Jr. (Jeff & son Lew)
Thanks Jeff. "Marbles" MacDonald later grabbed that root beer one I believe. LOTS out there- acres and acres of bottles. Its just crazy
Lovelovelove coming along as you're tramping about and finding AMAZING treasures!
THanks- always some fun stuff to find!
Some of those broken bottles you can cut and make little shot glass or candle holders.
Whoa!!! Awesome stuff! 😮
Worked for me. Thank you.
Thanks brother your trik help me to fix My Sony Boombox . Big hug happy 2025
Any tips for a front loader 😢
Very nice big poison bottles❤😂
Amazing stuff. i like it happy holidays
Thoughts on "Marbles" Hosting a hands-on dig workshop where you'd visit one of two secret dig sites? Good idea/bad? Interested?
Anything decent/good/worth anything in here, or just junk/Commons?
I just remember as a kid (like over 50 years ago) calling the clear ones (colored or not) "puries" and winning one playing marbles that I treasured being referred to as a "Kentucky cat's eye" but I don't know what made it such. I just like shiny things!
Same here- and thats probably the attraction with marbles, that and the craftsmanship involved with the older hand-blown ones.
Cool stuff
Thanks for watching
Those mustard yellows and cherry reds look too delicious. I wonder what awful substance they used to color them? RAIL rocks!

I tried on a cd/clock/radio I bought from goodwill, and it didn’t work. But that’s fine because the radio and clock still work
What about of the cd player is in a record table as well
I tried to push the Lense back, and granted, it did slide back. But then it just slides back into place, and it still won't read the disk. Any tips?
How about a front-loader?
Do you know the factory history of the site...like, what type and how old?
Lots of manufacturing in that area, so I'm not exactly sure, but this spot was more of a local/neighborhood tip of sorts and probably less related to the nearby factories. But I could be wrong.
You ought to did for something like gems, gold, etc.
I mean, we hope to EVERY TIME. Marbles does some gold hunting and panning.
The Father john's are always well made bottles. Heavy, thick glass with strong embossing. I always keep the face embossed ones. Nice work 👍
I agree- they seem to always make it/last and they're very attractive in windows and people still seems to buy em.
I walked threw to the other side no turns straight threw read the book they call it the pin hole of light
Awesome videos! Hello from Haverhill, Ma
one thing you might want to watch for in 30s sort of farm dumps would be old beer cans...even the totally brown ones can be soaked in oxalic acid and sometimes come out good - the right cans - even only semi-readable ....can be worth a lot
I dug the bottom half of something that looked exactly like that thing
the barrel jars are pickle jars - barrel full of pickles
Good to know- and pretty cool! Thank you
There must have been some substantial structure there before unless using rock chunks and blocks were their building materials of choice in the 40's.
