I remember seeing a screenshot of this level in a LEGO magazine and I was always confused to where it was in the game, before I got the complete saga and finally played it.
Trey Walker stop saying that its not a deleted level it’s a deleted level for a reason cause this version in the video game is different from the one in the complete saga and this version here we would’ve been able to fly to the control ship and destroy the main reactor ourselves while fighting off the last droids
Ik it's on rails, but I kinda prefer this to the one we actually got, souly because of the end section where you escape the ship and where you've been brought to a halt, it's quite a unique section in my opinion to anything else we saw in game. I don't mind it being on rails because I tend to crash and die a lot in the free roam version.
It is a good idea to remake the level for the Complete Saga (of 2007), because it would explain the Gungans under Jar Jar winning against the battle droids (explaining the Naboo Throne Room ending), and it showcases how Anakin Skywalker became known as arguably the Galaxy's most skilled fighter pilot.
The LEGO games (specifically Star Wars 2, SW: The Complete Saga, Indiana Jones 1 and Batman 1) were my childhood. I'm genuinely curious if you have any extra cut content from the LEGO Harry Potter games, too!
@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 This video is not about The Complete Saga. It's about the original release of the first Lego Star Wars (realesed 2005) which contained episodes 1-3.

Did you work on this game? Can i ask a question? When it came to minifigures like Padmé and Boss Nass who didnt have minifigures back then, did lego give you prototypes of the figures to base it off of or did you guys just model it based on imagies and stills from the movie?
GameHut wow! Thats awesome! I always wondered about characters in the game that bever made it into sets aha! My friend actually made me a custom captain panaka and padme figure based on this game :D this is awesome to know! Ive always wondered thank you!
This game was my childhood so I’m intrigued that there was a cut level. I played the Wii remake so I’m intrigued to see the original version of Anakin’s flight.
I actually found an unused music track in the demo of this game. It's an eight-minute track containing _The Arrival at Tatooine and the Flag Parade_ and _The Droid Invasion and the Appearance of Darth Maul_ so I thought it could have been related to this level but the track appears to be longer than the level itself and contains Negotiations' ambiance. Also there is certain versions of The Complete Saga that contain a version of the intro cutscene that is just a tad bit longer yet I know the Wii version ends at the same point as this video.
Yeah the demo of LSW1 is very weird and the music as well, is like the game that jon burton showed on his livestream. Then the music of the prototype canteen is as well in the demo without ambience sounds, thanks jon for forgive to remove it, is good for my videos of lego star wars. Now I've tested the normal levels in him and the force of the characters not work, and not appear all the characters in the cutscenes and the game has much contrast. As well I've tested BountyHunterPursuit_Outro and appear RoyalGuards (only in the demo), anakin, obi wan and jango fett. And I've tested the unused characters that full game has (spaceman, imperial officer, jawa....) and work with the same animations of RoyalGuard in this game but in the full game not (only appear one eye in the face), why jon burton, what did tt games change?
I just finished playing the original Lego Star Wars recently, and throughout I couldn't help but wonder if some of the scenes cut from the movies were planned for the game. This was certainly one of the more obvious cuts from the movies I noticed, and it's awesome to see it existing in some form. Good game btw. Enjoyed it.
I knew the story about how this level was cut and reworked, but I'd never seen the original version of it before. I definitely preferred the LSWII style vehicle sections to the first game's, so I don't mind that we missed out on this.
Thank you for making these videos! I really enjoy your content. I was playing lego HP 5-7 a little bit ago and i noticed the birds "dropped" a silver stud when they flew away after being approached. (I interpreted that as them being scared shitless xD) i haven't seen anyone mention those birds, and i was wondering if there are any other little things like that in lego games. Are there any hard to notice things that you can remember? If so can you please share them? Even if you don't I'm fine with that, I'd rather have you make the videos you want to make. :D
You can really see a pattern when it came to the first game, where all 3 vehicle sections and this cut level were on a rails and a set track. The pod race added multiple paths each lap but both the LAAT on genosis and Jedi Starfighter sections were completely straight forward with no ways back and I'm willing to bet the bounty Hunter level would have also been on rails and more specifically my theory is that it would have been a chase sequence on a timer. I really love seeing betas from games and speculate what could have been.
It's really nice how they redid the level for Complete Saga, but it was very lazy how the last room more or less rips off the final room of the second Death Star.
I think this version where the fighter was stuck while being attacked was slightly better. The tiny droids on the ground in the TCS version were almost unnoticeable as enemies.
I enjoyed this a whole lot, thank you! I wish I had more to say, because your commentary was amazing, but I sadly had not much experience with the Lego Star Wars games. I could never the less emphatize with all the challenges and choices that game developers are constantly subjected to. And to see games in such an incomplete, "closed doors" (speaking of which, digging that untextured blast door :D) state is always something special, and it makes you realize we all have to start somewhere, and if games are as polished as they are it's all thanks to you guys' hard work. I also like these videos because they show what an alternate reality where that section wasn't deleted could have looked like. I love twisting my head around like this. Again, thanks for this video!!
I don't know if you do glitch showcases or something like that, but if you do, I have one from a LEGO Star Wars game I'd like to see some footage and explanation of. I don't think I've ever seen any video discussing it. Somewhere in 2008 or so my brother and I found a really amusing glitch in the level Speeder Showdown in LEGO Star Wars: Original Trilogy for pc. We were playing on Windows XP, my brother was player 1 and I was player 2, we had finished the story and were playing through the entire game again to try to 100% it. I was playing as either Darth Vader or The Emperor because we needed a Dark Force-user in some levels. I was really bad at steering the Speeders so I constantly ended up getting stuck on trees and other environmental obstacles, and at one point I got stuck and I think what happened was that I got unstuck at the exact same moment I went offscreen and the game tried to force me to dropout and make me rejoin, but the result was that both players ended up doing backwards loops on our Speeders while the Stormtroopers we were chasing still ran their laps and came by every so often. We couldn't move, shooting still worked, pausing and opening menus still worked, and apparently I (player 2) was in some kind of glitched state that didn't allow me to dropout (I could dropout and rejoin, but I could still shoot even when dropped out and rejoining didn't fix the glitch). We eventually fixed the glitch when my brother (player 1) decided to dropout and rejoin, which got me out of my glitched state and allowed us to chase the Stormtroopers again. I think we rubberbanded to catch up with them because they had passed us a little earlier and were further away on the map, but I don't know how the game handles silly situations like that, it might just have teleported them to where they should be relative to our positions. We could complete the level normally after that. We also tried to replicate the glitch a few times and managed to get it to happen again twice, once by accident and once because I was actively trying to get stuck. Both times we could fix it the same way we fixed it the first time, and the characters we were playing as didn't seem to matter. We also tried to get player 1 stuck to see if the glitch happened with both players, but we never managed to get that to work, and it also looked like getting stuck on the left side of the environment was harder than getting stuck on the right side of the environment.
LuckyKoneko same thing happened with me in the darth maul battle where I dropped out and rejoined at the same time and my bro and I got stuck under the level and had to restart the whole thing
LuckyKoneko one time in the fifth chapter of episode one (I forgot what that particular level was called) close to the end of the level, there was this ledge thing that my brother tried getting on. Problem was, the ledge was really close to the ceiling, so the smaller Jedi hitbox from double jumping allowed him to get in the small space, but then after the Jedi (I'm pretty sure it was Obi-Wan, but it could have been Qui-Gon) was no longer curled up from the flip in the double jump, the hitbox expanded back to normal size (too large for the small space), and he got stuck. Nothing could get the Jedi out, and since one spot (at least we thought back then) required 2 Jedi to get to a higher spot to destroy some battle droids to free a pilot, the level was now unbeatable. I have tried to replicate it in the complete saga for the wii, but it appears to have been patched. The glitch was done on the original lego star wars for the Playstation 2
back in 2010 i found a glitch in lego indiana jones for ps2 where on the bossfight on the bridge i managed to jump out of the map and i was continuously spawning and dying very fast and it made my controller vibrate like mad seriously it was that bad the vibration in that whole controller actually broke i've tried to do it again and wasn't able to although i was able to on the wii version but the spawning and dying thing didn't happen like it did on the ps2
Was the plan always to release the complete saga after the first two games? Or did the success of the first two influence you guys to put something comprehensive out to include things like levels that had to be cut?
+Dr. Phil Inside Me Actually, Lego Star Wars I was released in 2005, Lego Star Wars II was released in 2006, and The Complete Saga was released in 2007. Edit: Apparently the PC version came out in 2009, if that is where your confusion is.
I always wondered why this level never showed up despite seeing it in an ad in a Lego magazine back in the day. Interesting to finally get a good look at it.
Awww Man! I wish Anakin's Flight stayed as a level! It would’ve been just as fun to play as The Death Star Levels, and Battle Over Courascant Level. Also sorry you got fired from LucasArts. I really miss that Videogame company. They made so many amazing games, that no other company could ever top them.
I had always thought the vehicle sections were annoying and repetitive. I always wished it had been more like Rogue Squadron or Battle for Naboo. Honestly I think this one would have been more fun than the final.
It's really neat finally getting to see this. Could we, by chance, get a re-upload of the footage with just the in-game sound? I can kinda hear it in the background, and even if there isn't any music, it would be all the more interesting to take a look at.
Neat. I can understand why the playstyle was changed to be more in line with the other flying levels because the version of this that ended up in complete saga benefited from being more open
My first ever video game I ever owned was the first Lego Star Wars for the GBA. Cutscenes in that port were nothing but still images with music and sound clips recycled from in-game elements. On the final chapter in Episode 1, there's a cutscene image of Anakin cheering that looks exactly like the cutscene featured in this video. I don't know why, but the idea that this level didn't survive until years later, but the cutscenes still lived on in the GBA port gives me chills.
This game as well as the second game (and by extension The Complete Saga game) was my childhood. Seeing something of it that I’ve never seen is really surreal tbh.
Interesting stuff. The forced flying sections in this level remind me a lot of the Finding Nemo game for some reason so I wonder if you built these flying sections based on that. I would love to see videos of Finding Nemo in the future if possible as it seems like a lot of stuff was cut out of that game. Great video. Looking forward to seeing more content in the future.
I know this is completely outlandish, but it would be so awesome if you could round up some talented devs to finish and release a mod for this game that includes all the cut beta content. I'd give anything for that!
I watched this just to see what it would've originally been. I like how it begins with a section similar to Battle Over Coruscant. The cutscenes make more sense here than in The Complete Saga. Also, it's more accurate to the movie. The thing that stood out to me the most was the second player's Naboo Starfighter being blue here instead of green.
It's quite interesting to see a deleted level like this. I honestly wish they could've kept it, especially with the droid battle and the reactor. That would've made it rather true to the source material.
Not exactly.... As much as we Know there was 2 diferent studios: the main TT Games who worked on the Sonic and Lego Games, and the TravellersTales Oxford "división" or something... I asume that they both worked on Twinsanity, considering the fact that the original development of the game was pretty ambitious, and in a diferent direction of the final game release.
Twinsanity was worked on by TT Oxford Studio while this game was made by the main TT games who worked on Finding Nemo and Crash The Wrath of Cortex before this game.
Jon Burton was the lead designer and programmer for Crash Twinsanity, according at least to Wikipedia (presumably he's in the credits for the game, so it shouldn't be too hard to verify). EDIT: He's in the credits, though like many games of that time, he doesn't actually have any roles associated to him.
I found Revenge of The Sith levels extremely questionable in terms of priority. There’s a level based on the 10 second scene where Obi-Wan and Yoda enter the Jedi Temple, but there’s no level based on Mace Windu VS Palpatine.
I remember completing this game to completion multiple times back in the day. Very cool. I noticed in the section where you kept dying it just faded back to the last checkpoint, and I wanted to ask, Was there ever any death cutscenes made for this level like the other vehicle levels?
There's 2 seconds of the gameplay in the trailer, snippets of the trailer are even in the theatre on Mos Eisley Spaceport level where you get 2x studs.
Since the game came out so close to Revenge of the Sith's release I wonder, what resources did you have available when designing the Episode 3 levels? The movie was probably only in very early production when you started.
I am from the future, and while this question's answer remains a mystery, I can make an educated guess based on The Skywalker Saga's development. Much like how this was being developed before Revenge of the Sith, Skywalker Saga started development before Rise of Skywalker did. So we can make an educated guess based on the development of that, which is to say none.
he has answered this question in a livestream of his, he isnt planning to because this isnt his game, sure he was the boss of traveler tales but Universal Studios payed for it and tons of others worked on it too ua-cam.com/video/iY_g12i0Bas/v-deo.html though it would be really reallyyyyy nice
Lego star wars was how I became a star wars fan! I remember seeing this level in magazine ads, so I assumed it was just in a different port of the game.
If you really wanted 6 levels per episode, I think you should've cut Retake Theed Palace, and replace it with Anakin's Flight. Because I feel like Retake Theed Palace is too similar to Escape From Naboo, and Retake Theed Palace could've been just a beginning cutscene to Anakin's Flight.
Admittedly this is why I don't want a career doing 3D modelling in the main gaming industry, look at the effort that was put into this only to have it scatter to the winds. I know why it has to be removed, but people who work on games like these must have the patience if a darn saint.
Honestly at 4:25 I think that part would have been very interesting because no lego game does this kind of concept and would have been really cool to get through a level with this part in it
I LOVE the Lego Star Wars games. I have very fond memories of playing these games on GameCube when I was a kid, so it's very cool to see a developer revealing a deleted level! I have a question about the Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. There is text I've found in the game data on Wii for a Darth Plagueis character that isn't available. Was this a scrapped character?
I have great memories of this game. I remember one time I was mad at my brother, so I put a piece of dust in with the disc. When he played the pod-race level, he crashed and because of the dust, the crashing scene played on an endless loop. XD
when i was 10 i got a dsi xl with mario brs and lego star wats the complete saga. my first video game experience. thank you for making this awesome game!
If there would have been 7 levels in all three sets then, For Episode II there could be a chapter when Anakin searches for his mother on Tatooine. First you go as Anakin and R2D2 through s bunch of Tatooine cliffs and structures and at the end you fight against a bunch of tusken raiders. For Episode III there could be a chapter when Palpatine gets arrested. Cutscene could begin with Palpatine trying to get Anakin to the dark side. In a funny Lego starwars way Palpatine would point towards a Darth Vader suit which would make Anakin angry and pointing his lightsaber. Then he goes and tell Windu which then arrests Palpatine. Cutscene ends with Palpatine killing Agen Kolar and Saesse Tiin. The first gameplay would be Mace Windu and Kit Fisto fighting against Palpatine. Then after youve taken some hearts on Palpatine a second cutscene would start where Palpatine kills Kit Fisto. Mace Windu and Palpatine would go on to fight until Anakin arrives. Then the remaining gameplay would be Mace Windu and Anakin fighting Palpatine. And the end scene would of course be when Mace Windu nearly defeats Palpatine but Anakin turns to the dark side etc...
I love this stuff! Got 3 questions for ya! Have you ever worked with the Dreamcast? Do you think it could run this game well? And have you ever considered messing around with it and making a good 3d engine?
you have talked a lot about the hacks you uttilized or even came up with to produce exceptional games . But are you interested in the modern technology to better programing ( modern languages with type systems that drastically reduce the chance of bugs ) , rendering ( ai for ambient oclussion , global illumination ) , asset creation ( generating 3d models from a few photos or drawings ) ,etc ?
i think topics ducha as ai is are both intuitive and mind blowing ( check 2 minute papers ) but i wasnt asking him to make episodes on those , just whether he was still in the buisness of game dev or still tuning his skills as a hobby
To my knowledge, TT games still exists, and still makes games, and he's still the CEO of it. What exactly he does is another matter, but as far as I can tell, he still works in Game dev, and these youtube videos are just a thing he does on the side.
Is it true there was a deleted level from Revenge of the Sith based on the scene in which Palpatine kills Mace Windu? I think the name of the level was "Palpatine Duel" or something like that...?
On the back of the PlayStation 2 box art there is a screen shot for this level and I always wondered why it was never in, that was until I played complete saga and noticed the two cut levels

RichboyJhae I’m pretty sure it was because of the success
YES!! I've been waiting for this for so long! Thanks for the amazing video as always!
Honestly I think this one would have been more fun than the final.
i agree tbh, i like how the first chapter of episode 3 did it, but all the invincible walls can make it really annoying in some levels
This looks REALLY GOOD for a Genesis.
Is this for SEGA Genesis? He said, what it's for PS 2
Desperate for more Sega Genesis programming videos...
Sega Boy Same! :D Don't mind any really, beta stuff is really cool!
Wow! Thanks for this little dev insight! Ive always enjoyed the lego games that you guys made!
The space battle actually looks pretty fun to play.
Were Lego games inspired by Legomania by Doomsday?
Hey, maybe - I loved that demo back in the day. Could never remember what it was called so thanks for reminding me! Great to see it again...
That blue naboo fighter looked pretty cool.
The second to last section is really really cool! It’s very authentic to the films.
I eat your videos up like nothing ! Your a real Treasure Trove filled to the brim with amazing tipsbits
Will we be able to see the Ep 2 Bounty Hunter Pursuit Level in its original version?
Thank you for sharing, these games were my childhood
This game as well as the second game (and by extension The Complete Saga game) was my childhood. Seeing something of it that I’ve never seen is really surreal tbh.
Thank you so much. I've always wanted to know more about this level.
I could watch unseen content from this game all day.
Nice to see details on your work from LEGO games.
Apparently a PS2 prototype was recently dumped that has this level intact.
These are still some of my favorite coop games. The relatively simple brawly mechanics are just fun and easy to pick up
And now we have access to this level for ourselves with the recently released January 10, 2005 Prototype.
I thought this was a funny meme when i saw my notifications until I saw the gamehut intro
If there’s any significant unused content in complete saga, I would personally love to see it, because that game was my childhood
I remember seeing magazines with pictures from this level and being so confused when it never made it in. Great finally seeing it in motion
Looks like a fun level!
It's quite interesting to see a deleted level like this. I honestly wish they could've kept it, especially with the droid battle and the reactor. That would've made it rather true to the source material.
Interesting! I can understand why you cut out the rails shooter part. Thanks for the history!
Yess finally a lego video!
I love your videos
You worked on Lego star wars too? You made my childhood!
The complete saga is one of the most special games to me, me and my bro would play it non stop all the time
As a kid, I always wondered why there was no Anakin’s Flight level in the game, and now I finally know. I always pictured it looking like this, too.
This game was my favorite game in my childhood
Did "Traveller" work on Twinsanity?
Drake Travelers Tales did work on Twinsanity. I've always wondered how the development went.....
Twinsanity deluxe version, when?
EDIT: He's in the credits, though like many games of that time, he doesn't actually have any roles associated to him.
i remember this being my favorite level in complete saga on the wii and seeing it before it was finished is so fascinating
is this the man that helped craft 30% of my video gaming childhood?
Imagine being a fan of someone’s channel without knowing they made your favorite childhood game.
Could you publish this early version in any form?
he has answered this question in a livestream of his, he isnt planning to because this isnt his game, sure he was the boss of traveler tales but Universal Studios payed for it and tons of others worked on it too
ua-cam.com/video/iY_g12i0Bas/v-deo.html
though it would be really reallyyyyy nice
Loved these games as a youngin, awesome seeing unused stuff from these games
You were a dev for this game? Damn, cool
Lego star wars was how I became a star wars fan!
I remember seeing this level in magazine ads, so I assumed it was just in a different port of the game.
As always, good content with interesting info.
Thank you for another wonderfull video!

Honestly at 4:25 I think that part would have been very interesting because no lego game does this kind of concept and would have been really cool to get through a level with this part in it
Liked this version more than what we got. Particulary liked destroying the station with the battle droid attacking.
Anakin's flight is a bonus level in the complete saga.
Anyone here after Skywalker Saga’s level was very similar, don’t if that was intentional but I freaked out
If there would have been 7 levels in all three sets then,
For Episode II there could be a chapter when Anakin searches for his mother on Tatooine.
Man I never thought I would get to see what was never used
What would the music be? Anakin Takes off? The Droid Battle? The Tide Turns?
I love this stuff! Got 3 questions for ya! Have you ever worked with the Dreamcast? Do you think it could run this game well? And have you ever considered messing around with it and making a good 3d engine?
Dan Baker we made Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on the Dreamcast...
GameHut oh ok. Did you guys consider taking advantage of the hardware?
you have talked a lot about the hacks you uttilized or even came up with to produce exceptional games . But are you interested in the modern technology to better programing ( modern languages with type systems that drastically reduce the chance of bugs ) , rendering ( ai for ambient oclussion , global illumination ) , asset creation ( generating 3d models from a few photos or drawings ) ,etc ?
Diego Antonio Rosario Palomino That stuff tends to be way more advanced, it would be hard to explain that to most people, I think.
i think topics ducha as ai is are both intuitive and mind blowing ( check 2 minute papers ) but i wasnt asking him to make episodes on those , just whether he was still in the buisness of game dev or still tuning his skills as a hobby
To my knowledge, TT games still exists, and still makes games, and he's still the CEO of it.
What exactly he does is another matter, but as far as I can tell, he still works in Game dev, and these youtube videos are just a thing he does on the side.
You worked on the Lego Star Wars games!? I would love to see more about that! :D
Is it true there was a deleted level from Revenge of the Sith based on the scene in which Palpatine kills Mace Windu? I think the name of the level was "Palpatine Duel" or something like that...?
I hear if you beat that level you were supposed to unlock a special character: "The Senate!"
On the back of the PlayStation 2 box art there is a screen shot for this level and I always wondered why it was never in, that was until I played complete saga and noticed the two cut levels
