One difference you missed is in the Death Star Escape level, the ending cutscene actually has Luke Screaming while in The Complete Saga he just has blank expressions.
Also even though challenges weren’t in the console version, but Challenge mode was actually in the PSP version. This is how the Prequel characters are unlocked, by completing a challenge you will get a prequel character.
Princess Leia (Boushh) is different between both versions.
In LSW2 she permanently haves the helmet making her a usable Bounty Hunter for free play, while TCS she doesn’t keep the helmet so you would have to buy a Bounty Hunter from Wuher in the Cantina.

In Lego Star Wars 2, with the Custom Character Creator, if you equip a custom character with a Black Hood and then play that character in a level and take them somewhere the camera can’t see them, their Icon will appear and display the Imperial Spy logo.

In Escape From Echo Base, there's the room where you have to slide down a slope and hit the buttons on the way down to open the door to the next room. In The Complete Saga, a clip of the door opening plays, which isn't there in Lego Star Wars II.
The Episode Bonus doors in the hub world must be built in Lego Star War II, but are already there in Complete Saga.
In Lego Star Wars II, you get a Gold Brick for completing the Super Story (even if you do not beat 1 hour or 100,000 studs). While you no longer get a Gold Brick for completing the Super Story in The Complete Saga, it still counts towards your completion percentage.
The text for completing Super Story is also slightly different between games. Using Return of the Jedi as an example, in Lego Star War II, it says:
"Episode VI: Return of the Jedi - Super Story Complete"
In The Complete Saga, the Episode and Roman Numeral aren't shown. It just says:
"Return of the Jedi - Super Story Complete"

Vice versa can be said for the panel in the Dagobah caves.

    • @Hi_Just_Fred

The best strategy is standing just outside the room when the door opens and play as Han as he has the best dodge move.
Just spam the shoot button and you shouldn't get hit, then rush to close the doors and kill any other troopers that spawn, and hurry to build the exit. After that no more should spawn, that room is horrible with any other strategy from what I noticed.

The thing about the storm trooper room in Death Star escape is you gotta clear the room, then rush to close the doors, and then hurry building the door.
Best way I found to deal with this is stand still and spam shooting as Han Solo as his automatic dodge is by far the best in the game. I almost never get hit when doing it this way, especially if I wait just outside the room and make the troopers rush towards me.

Know things start to make sence I played Lego Star Wars II with my friend so I was confused that I couldn't find the big outside in the complete saga, I thought I somehow kept missing a door in Mos Eisley.

Some handheld ports of LEGO games had split stud meters too! LEGO Batman 1 on the DS had a separate meter for Free Play, and I'm sure there are others.

7:19 actually I think that’s the same beeping the mines make in Jedi battle I think was the level, in episode 2
    The Geonosis arena
But in terms of this exact bomb I mean yeah you’re right no sound

In LEGO Star Wars II, you can actually force choke/electrocute Battle Droids, Droidekas, and Genosians. However in TCS, regardless of playing as a Jedi or a Sith, they would be force pushed.

The PSP version of Lego Star Wars II had the challenge mode, and the rewards for completiton of each level were prequel characters. I still have it on my PSP ready to go.

9:53 one difference that’s almost shown in the video itself is that the objective for the first area of Falcon Flight is different between games. In LSW2 you need to destroy all 16 turrets where in Complete Saga you need to use Proton Torpedos to knock out the Star Destroyers.

Wait hold on the one right after shows them being the same, is there different versions of LSW2??? Like I’m playing on GameCube right now I played that level like an hour ago and I know for a fact you can’t even obtain Proton Torpedos in the first area

  • @auditect950

I think you missed a lot of potential differences, which would come with comparing how the prequel characters function in both games.
For example, I remember that in LSW2, you can actually force-push a Droideka, which you can't do in either LSW1 or TCS. Most players would never see that.

3:25 There's a cheat code thats only in Star Wars 2 the original trilogy that allows you to make Santa Claus in the character creator. This is not in the complete saga.
(Fun fact before this Santa had appeared in Star Wars: X-Wing video game as a hidden Easter egg)

I never liked that in TCS the character icons are the character models instead of sprites like in TOT, however this can be changed with a mod and fun fact: The DS version of The Complete Saga uses the original 2005-2006 render models, probably because the file sizes were smaller than the PC and home console abominations of icons.

2:58 that basically ruined the complete saga for me. My best lego star wars memories are with "the speedo torpedo trooper," and making a custom character where I have slave Liea top, beach trooper bottom, trooper helmet for the trooper doors, red lightsaber for dark force powers, and a cape so I wouldn't confuse the beach trooper for my OP custom character.
