Yea I haven't played it since it first came out, and was a little worried that it wouldn't hold up to what I remembered... but it absolutely nailed it!
There are certain games that just define a series so well that they just need a well deserved spit shine and they play just as well as we remember. I have high hopes for another remake on its way soon, but who needs hope when I have Samus?
For me, it's the incredible gameplay and how the story progresses. Even for a 20 year old game, it controls beautifully, even with the Gamecube controls.
This remaster is amazing. So much nostalgia. Only thing I didn’t like is that the dual stick control doesn’t have the fire button on a shoulder trigger, would have made it perfect
Lol i was born in 04 but my brother introduced me to the trilogy and I think prime 1 and 2 are top 5 games for me I hope they give prime 2 this same treatment because the areas look incredible, can't wait to play this
Lol, well he's just a good brother then. Mine did the same for me with the first couple of Metroid games and early RPGs. And yea, the whole trilogy re-done like this would be incredible.
Well from one Gabriel to another, that's awesome dude. For me it was Metal Gear Solid that really made me fall in love with games, but Prime Metroid is a close 2nd.
I remember my pops buying me the platinum gamecube with metroid prime and wario world i barely played prime and i think i traded it as a kid (smh) fast forward years later Metroid Dread was the 1st Metroid game i beat and i want to play more of this series im become a fan of the Metroid Series that i was sleeping on for years i even went and Copped Metroid Prime 1 & 2 for my Gamecube Collection and booted up my Wii U and bought Metroid Zero Mission & Metroid Fusion The Prime Remaster has pulled me in like it has with dread to the point that when i finish a play session im either watching someone else play ofnyoutube or twitch to see and hear their reactions or thoughts or they make me boot back up the game and play more of it so im glad that Metroid is growing on me I wanna beat super but that game always get irritating but i love watching people speedrun dread and super
Prime and Zelda Windwaker were the first 2 games that I bought when I actually won the purple Gamecube from a random entry into a Gamepro sweepstakes (best thing I ever won). It blew my mind to see Metroid in first person, coming off of Super Metroid being my favorite game of all time. But welcome back to the Metroid universe! Dread was incredible, and this was the perfect follow-up. You should definitely give Super Metroid another go. It can get irritating at times, but it's right up there with 2d Metroid perfection for me. Glad you're enjoying the series :)
Goldeneye wasn't a port, at least not the Switch version, it is a straight emulation of the original game, which is why the controls carried over, the Xbox version was a port which was why they were able to change the controls in that version
Im seeing this a lot and it is flawed logic. Metroid is a cool shadow drop but it's a game we all played already. The real shadow drop is hi fi rush. It's a new IP that showed up out of nowhere and sold tons of copies because it is quality. I would bet my money on Nintendo seeing the shadow drop of HFR and saying "yea, let's do that." They had been sitting on this game at least a year or two. They just saw potential dollar signs. Shadow drops will become the new battle royale in coming years. Better than hype trains at least.
@@phant0mdummy I highly doubt they've been sitting on this game for years. I think the fanmade rumors of them working or remastering these games predated them actually working on it. With that said. I don't think Nintendo cares too much about Sony does. Depsite them both being in the same game market, they aren't really competitors. HFR sales don't impact Metroid or vice-versa. So to even claim Nintendo would care to shadow drop this remaster to take away from Sony is kinda stupid. I mean, do you seriously think either of these games coming out impacted one another?
Played it like 5-6 times in 2002, then 3-4 times in 2015 with the trilogy, and now, twice already. So good. Thanks for the video!

@David Lara yea man, I have such high hopes that this could mean that the entire trilogy could get the same attention and love. Samus is the best!
What is it about Metroid Prime that makes it so re-playable? I've played this game over the years over 10 times.
I've wondered this for the last 20 years. Probably played through it over 50 times throughout the years.
For me, it's the incredible gameplay and how the story progresses. Even for a 20 year old game, it controls beautifully, even with the Gamecube controls.
The gameplay
I too have wondered this. I must've played this 250 times over the years.
@@n8fro234 an average of once a month for every year it's been out!

Great review! I would of just turned 5 at the time lol. I’m looking forward to playing this as I’ve always wanted to!!
Hey thank you! And I'm happy that you're gonna get a chance to play it, I hope you enjoy it.

I first played this in 2004 and I'd say it was the game that turned me into a gamer
Well from one Gabriel to another, that's awesome dude. For me it was Metal Gear Solid that really made me fall in love with games, but Prime Metroid is a close 2nd.
I never played Metroid Prime before, but now it my chance to buy and play it.
Ah, I'm excited for you! After Prime, you should definitely check out Metroid Dread if you haven't already. Enjoy it!
good review, keep up the good content mate
Waiting on my physical copy, it's AGONY!
I'm "watching" this video without visuals, because I really want to see it fresh!
Glad you like it though
Lol, well hey, thank you for at least listening, though! I hope you really enjoy it when you do pick up the physical copy.

Please learn how to use periods…
@@TortillaPizzeria Please mind your damn business
@@gabegoforth awesome i wanna give super another go maybe sometime in the future maybe so many games coming out not enough time 😂😭
I had to change multiple settings to play goldeneye remake lol.
Lol yea, same here. But it's still a great game, though.
Don't feel too old. The physical release of the game comes out on my 45th birthday. I've been playing Metroid since the beginning.
Haha, thanks. And happy early birthday to you!
For me it's the immersion because your playing from Samus arans preceptive and it makes it more creepy and the feeling of loneliness

Gotcha, thanks for the correction.
Microsoft shadowdrops one of the best game of the year with Hi Fi Rush
Nintendo: But wait!!! There's more!!!
We can top that!
Lol, I've heard nothing but great things about Hi-Fi Rush, I should really give it a play through on Steam. The art style looks fantastic.
