To me a good boss is the one that gets my heartbeat running fast AF and that throughout the fight fills me with adrenaline usually that makes it aggressive type bosses like pretty much the whole Sekiro game, some of the Bloodborne bosses like Lady Maria, Orphan of Kos, Ludwig, Father Gascoine, Dark Souls 3 bosses like Soul of Cinder, Champion Gundyr, Pontiff, Nameless King, Slave Knight Gael. In Elden Ring that would be the M quartet ( Maliketh, Malenia, Morgott, Mogh ) , Godfrey, Loretta, Fortisax and Placidusax.
To me a good boss allows you to stay agressive whike still being difficult . It also needs to make you use all of your options and stay interesting . Oh and like aesthetics too i guess but not really
A good boss is a boss that I want to fight over and over and over again. And then again, and then again, and so forth. That's a good boss. The less I want to fight a boss (just for the sake of fighting it and for no other reason), the worse it is.
As a tangent, do you plan to talk about Across The Spider verse? I would like to see more movie opinions. Btw, I do agree that DS3 really improved the boss quality. Bloodborne really dropped the ball with the 2nd half of the bosses and areas.
@@NotLoopine Trust me, this is not the typical Marvel/DC schlock. It's a simple story with layered characters and amazing presentation, but much more ambitious than the previous one. However, I'm glad to see more miscellaneous stuff on this channel. Keep it up!
I think it feels unfinished just because it has only two or three attacks outside of the madcap clone spawning portion, which is in turn best solved by simply running in a big circle. Compare it to Gherman or Gascoigne or Cleric Beast or even Paarl, and Mergo’s moveset feels very undeveloped
@@Felicificitythat's understandable, but I mainly like the boss for the amazing atmosphere. And yea the boss definitely feels a bit underdeveloped, but I don't think that makes it unfinished.
@@clunkye8053 not to mention you can dodge that entire phase. That is kind of the gist of bloodborne. Perfect atmosphere but the boss gameplay is kind of shit in a vaccuum
Oh Man if THAT is the "1337" way to play Souls (no Fashion, no AoW's, hence basically zero Style or Flair in Gameplay, zero immersion...) I just wanna be a Scrub.
disagreed alot with bb having the best atmosphere, while its great, alot of it just feels the same, pretty much just 40 hours of grey corridors, grey castles and spires, grey gravestones and coffins etc etc, it couldve used far more areas like cainhurst and hamlet, it lacks the bat shit creativity and design of the elden souls games. i love ludwig, top 10 greatest bosses iv ever fought against, but i still think mdir, gael, maliketh, and godfrey are better and are the best in the series!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds Ornstein and Smough overrated.
Ornstein and Smough were insane and cool af in 2011, but they're janky as hell and live on nostalgia.
Always love seeing some new loopine content in the mornin
The End Sniper boss in MGS3 is my favorite boss of all time. Owl the father is my second. Artorias is my 3rd.

My favorite boss of all time is Fatalis from Monster Hunter Word. Ludwig is a close second.
my first mistake was assuming this would help me with making a boss for my game

No I typically avoid superhero movies religiously but I did love the animation in the the other one

How is mergo's wet nurse unfinished?
It's my favorite boss in base game bloodborne and has my 2nd favorite ost.
