I thought the Halloween movies were garbage, but I watched the Gemstones like a month later and forgave him.
John Goodman can carry a movie on his shoulders or outshine everyone in a bit part, and he can be top-notch funny, dramatic or scary. The only actor who can compare in my mind is John C. Reilly.
Both are criminally underrated.

Though we never saw him do anything but comedy, another John was Mr. Candy, single handily made everything he was in worth watching!!
In season, 2 the look in his eyes when he broke the thumbs of that jerk from the restaurant was honestly some of the best acting I've ever seen.
10 Cloverfield lane. Out of nowhere he gives the best supporting acting job of the decade. He should have legit got an Oscar for that

When he was Rosanne, I remember thinking he was just a sweaty drunk. It wasn't until John Goodman started doing other things that I realized that was the character he was playing for that show.
As someone who grew up in a southern Baptist church, this show is the best thing that I have ever seen in my life
My ex wife dragged me to a mega church in Texas years back and I imagine a lot of the shenanigans on this show happened there behind the scenes!
Edi is so goddamn funny as Judy. Her and BJ are my favorite characters in the whole show.
This show is comedic gold! They picked the PERFECT people to play the different parts! Omg, Judy, & Uncle Baby Billy are hilarious, and Danny McBride and John Goodmen are great actors. They completely slay EVERY ROLE they play. This show is PERFECTION.
Even the name Uncle Baby Billy is funny tbh, when I first heard that name and then you see Walton Goggins character, it’s the best lol
Boyd Crowder is his other character in the series Justified and it’s one of my favourites and he’s one of the best characters in anything great actor
I have always said that John Goodman was one of my all time favorite actors, even since i was a teenager - i saw Barton Fink and that was just IT.
Laughed myself silly watching the Righteous Gemstones! Can’t wait for series 2.

John Goodman's character in Death Sentence was a masterpiece. It doesn't get enough love because the movie wasn't as well received, but it's much better than his character in The Gambler.

They are a magnificent team I've loved everything they've done through HBO.. The Foot Fist Way, Eastbound & Down, Vice principals, righteous gemstones... I love how they use the same characters but give them different roles amazing cast on all the shows.. However I would watch these two in anything.. I hope it never ends, new shows new characters.. I'm literally here for it all...
The casting in this series is incredible, and as great as John Goodman is, in my mind they’re all pulling the rope.

Such a great show! Danny McBride is so good at what he does. Edi Patterson is great in her role.
Honestly, after watching some of John’s smaller roles, I’ve came to the realization that it doesn’t matter whether he is a main character or a supporting actor. He carries the movie on his back. Example what made me think of this the other day was watching the movie flight with Denzel Washington he was only in the movie for like five minutes total but made such an impact.
I have memorized some of John Goodman’s movie scenes, because of how AMAZING they are and how memorable he is to me. I hope he knows how beloved he is by many people all over the world!!

I’ll take Goodman in a role any day over Pacino, Deniro. I don’t dislike those guys but I just think Goodman brings so much more with a character where those guys play their persona again and again.
Goodman is absolutely embarrassing on gemstones. That attempt at an accent that doesn’t exist is constant vomit. He was cure in The Babe though, gyaaassh🤤

If i shall complain... i wish i could see the outtakes and the fucking bloopers.. I try to find that shit and im like damn dog... like yo do i gotta go thru the black market n shit. hahaha yo i love the vibe.
