1:06, the long building in the lower left corner is where I went to college for my A&P and degree. In the years I spent there, and in the small park across the street planespotting, I too have never seen a runway 22 departure. I've seen mondo moisture clouds form on top of the wings on rainy days in the winter, and even heard, saw & smelled a Pan Am 727 Shuttle blow all 4 mains on landing during a snow flurry, but no, never saw a plane take off in that direction.
in nearly 15 years of flying a 757 for United Airlines out of LGA, I made exactly ONE takeoff on Runway 22. Also, I landed on Runway 13 only 2 times in 15 years.
Rare is right. Never departed LGA R 22 in my 70 years. Thanks. Runway 31 departures have been rare also for myself. I always wondered if they used it for departures. I've always seen the taxiway going out to the water to the beginning of R 22.
Exactly! I've never gone out on 22 and they obviously don't want a mishap over a neighborhood as well as noise abatement. I used to occasionally see a Runway 31 landings in the 1980's when using 4 for takeoffs out over the River.
This had to be the runway that they used the other day. I’m 7.7 miles out in the lower crown heights area of Brooklyn. I saw a plane that was practically flying right over the apartment building a good 10-15 blocks down and wondering why it was so low compared to the plane that fly so high over us taking off from LaGuardia. This had to be the runway they took off from cause that plane was much closer to the ground than it should’ve been being 7-8 miles away from me. This also might be the runway that 747s use cause there was 2-3 times I’d seen a 4 engine plane going out that was so close to me from where I was looking like the airport was closer than it appeared.
Climbing left turn to heading 070°, maintain 5000, Thence expect vectors to assigned route/fix. Expect clearance to filed altitude/flight level within ten (10) minutes after departure.
This is the outbound flight from the flight that landed on 04 in the other video - I recognize it's the same plane by the dirt on the windshield. For this takeoff, they kept rolling onto the runway without stopping for spool-up. I would have thought on a relatively short runway (~7000 ft) it might be better to come to a full stop, brake, and then spool-up before going, unless it was a smaller plane. Still cannot tell what type of aircraft this is, I didn't hear a "positive" callout before "gear up" command which makes me think this is not a Boeing. I have departed on LGA Rwy 22 many times in FSX, I didn't realize how rare this actually is until I read the comments here.

I’m going to school there now

757 takes off at LGA?
Underrated channel man. You got some of the best cockpit content around
Thanks, much appreciate :-)

747’s can’t go to LGA
I work at the bus depot a handful of times i have seen and felt an 22 takeoff . It sounds like the plane flew through the shop

Saw a 22 takeoff today
I'm still surprised
That's some amazing footage! Rare it is indeed.
Thanks
This is rare I didn’t know I’ve spotted a plane takeoff from 22 before I was standing at planeview park
This is rarer than landing on Runway 13.
This is unbelievable - the views here are extremely rare. Been flying out of LGA for 22 years, have never seen a R 22 departure. I am almost confused!

Still the Embraer
now the important question, did it make it to tederberro or did it ditch in hudson?
🤣
So now planes have dashcams, too? Can't wait for all the russian plane crash and air rage compilations... 😂
