This guy was like a cool older brother to me. Bob and Jay were me and my friends. I'm 17 years clean now. Genuinely inspiring to see where he's at these days.
My thoughts exactly. I get so stoked when I see Jason in an interview looking healthy. It says so many things about courage and support and what's possible in this lifetime in terms of overcoming the adversities life throws at us. He was like my favorite superhero in his Jay character but now he's still sort of my favorite superhero in a more human way in just being himself.
We went to Disney in 2017. I held my 6 month old daughter for the Pirates ride. Didn't know about the drop, but when it got dark, I knew something was coming. So I held her tighter.
58:18 - The company (in Basel, Switzerland) was called Sandoz, not Santos, where Albert Hoffman created LSD in 1938. He discovered it’s effects April 19, 1943.
So happy these worlds collide. I truly love jay mewes. I have been ride or die with him through drug addiction and all. Love to see Pete get to know him
And his voice acting as Mortimer was a combination I’m missing so much, I wanted all the Moves in 76 and still do, maybe I’ll get to hear him out in the starfield too?
Pete is a student of Hermes Trigmistigus. Spelling is magic. How we "spell" is us casting the wrong incantations. The correct "spelling" is taught to those who seek. However the short cuts lead to EPSTIEN island..hence Pete being on the flight logs.
Holy shit Meweses is looking great! I watched all the movies over and over when I was younger. Haven't seen them in years and randomly thought of Jay like yesterday wondering what he's doing and I hoped he was okay then this pops up?!? Hell yeah that's the best shit ever.
I had never understood certain problems with addiction until doing Oxy and going through withdrawal. Narcotic withdrawal itself can very easily kill. That's how bad it can get. Still I couldn't fathom living on the streets and that life until having fentanyl (never had heroin). The whole world just disappears. There's nothing but the euphoria.
Dude.. I have been watching Jason for decades. And it seems as if the massive ordeal that has been big chunks of his life have had no effect. It's pretty insane how far he has come. He is an inspiration for people with substance abuse issues. Super proud of him, only way I can describe it. It's great to see him doing so well. I wish he would grow the hair back though..
I'm in the exact same boat (no pun intended) as Pete about the drop on Pirates of the Caribbean. I've been on that ride a million times and I fucking hate that drop 😂
What Pete described as a 'skinwalker' is not a thing. Skinwalker is a shapeshifter derived from witchcraft and it's definitely not something to be messed around with. Skinwalkers originate from the Navajo culture and have since turned into a general term for shapeshifters for all Native tribes, and that's a problem because that term is often used by non-native people. It feeds into the 'Pan-Indian' narrative where all tribes are exactly the same, which everyone knows they are not. I'm Navajo from AZ born and raised on the reservation, and I know skinwalkers have been brought up a few times on this podcast (Jon Heder interview). I love this podcast and I always find it interesting when skinwalkers pop up. Just wanted to share some background 👍
it is insane to me that the timeline here is that Jason had already starred in Clerks and Mallrats (which filmed in March-April of 95) and then on his 21st birthday in June of 95, he was still roofing, and he tried heroin for the first time.
which Maharaji is he talking about? He mentioned that he was in his 80s... but when I look up Mahraji I come up with "Prem Pal Singh Rawat, formerly known as Maharaji" who is currently 66.
@@jcout25Yes. And? Do you have a point that isn’t stating the obvious? Clearly he could do that. Instead he chose to critique this one. Because he likes a lot of things about this one, he feels the desire to speak of what would make it better. Which is perfectly reasonable.
Whenever people make comments on podcasts about how someone should stop interrupting it makes me think they’ve never had a conversation in their life. There’s a flow to a conversation it’s not like “I talk. Okay I’m done. Now you talk”
You’re gonna traumatize her Pete. Use pirates of the Caribbean to do it in an isolated environment. Parents WILL traumatize and mess up. If it goes bad, it’s an opportunity to apologize and be the kind of dad who thought about it and made a strong move.
Pete is not the greatest interviewer. He interrupted Jason while Jason was making some important, personal points. He is the greatest Batman tho so....
I hate watching these podcasts when the host just interrupts every story, just to say irrelevant points or ask questions that the guest is currently explaining… 😔 - It just derails every story
It makes me so happy to see Jay so happy, healthy, and sober!! ❤ I hope we get many more years of the clit commander!
He looks so much better with dentures that fit him. I understand that aspect of what he has lost.
This guy was like a cool older brother to me. Bob and Jay were me and my friends. I'm 17 years clean now. Genuinely inspiring to see where he's at these days.
there’s 3 stories i wanted jay to finish. dammit pete.
I devour Kevin and Jay’s content, but this is the first time I’ve ever heard the Pauly Shore story. So fucking beautiful I’m crying.
He looks fantastic! Proud of Jay 👏👏👏

So excited to see Jason join Pete for a conversation!
Jason Mewes never disappoints, loved every second
Pete sure talked over his points a lot. Luckily, Jason is so relatable that it barely mattered
I’ve always adored Jay. Makes my day to see him.
Related to this so hard! Loved it! Thank you Pete & Jason! 💕
awwww as a Mom of many I am so glad Jay is doing well, make my heart feel wrapped in velvet
Love Jason so fucking much, always fun to see him on different podcasts! I hope he does more of the rounds cause he’s too fun not too

45:06 Yeah man, it was one of the producers on a CB hahahahahaha. Love this interview and love Jason. Glad he seems healthy and happy.
I am always happy to see Jason doing well. I've been a fan since Clerks. Stay strong, my man.
Yayyyy! I love me some Jason Mewes!!! A truly iconic actor! And Pete of course, goes without saying!
Can't wait for the paranormal shows, Jay! Sounds fun!
Thoroughly enjoyed this conversation!
When they’re talking about alcoholism, what Pete says about why he drank…I felt that to my core. That is definitely something I could have said.
So happy these worlds collide. I truly love jay mewes. I have been ride or die with him through drug addiction and all. Love to see Pete get to know him
I love that Jason and Kevin are lifelong buddies!
Pretty sure the children of the c u l t stick together because no one else can truly understand that life.
I was in a movie with Jason Mewes (not onscreen together) that apparently never saw the light of day. One of the coolest(?) stories I have.
And his voice acting as Mortimer was a combination I’m missing so much, I wanted all the Moves in 76 and still do, maybe I’ll get to hear him out in the starfield too?
Good to see him well. It does the heart good to see him making use of his extraordinary talent.
Can't wait for an interview with Pete NOT interrupting every second. PETE..... LET THE GUEST TALK, PLEASE!
Really appreciated the way you approached the conversation about addiction! So happy to see Jason always ❤
I’ve always wondered if Pete was aware he strongly resembles John Ritter.
Great podcast 👍👍👍👍👍 You were very respectful talking with Jason about his addiction. Bravo Pete ❤️ Side note you remind me of a young John Ritter
Awesome! My brother & I wrote a movie for Jason Mewes called "Ridiculous". Jason plays a Judd Nelson type mafia guy who talks a lot.
Echinacea is a kind of tea…isn’t it? If not then I think I’m drinking a part of Diane
That part was so funny! I almost spit out the eczema tea I was drinking!
Oh my god, I'm so happy to be listening to Jason Mewes talk right now!!!! 😍😎🤓😽
59:50 - Andrew Weil’s last name isn’t pronounced “wheel”, it’s pronounced “while”. Actually, since it’s Germanic, it’s probably be “vile”.
Omfg, I might even watch the ads on this
Skipped the pre-roll already. I am sorry
So so so excited to watch this! Love Pete and Jason!
This was a great episode!
I put Steve and Jason on the same area I’m so glad there here and sober
So nice of Pete to invite Jay over to listen to him talk...
I love Pete but damn, we got like 10 minutes of Mewes in a two hour "interview"
Pete is a student of Hermes Trigmistigus. Spelling is magic. How we "spell" is us casting the wrong incantations. The correct "spelling" is taught to those who seek. However the short cuts lead to EPSTIEN island..hence Pete being on the flight logs.
It is uncanny how much Jason sounds like Steve-O
Years of chain smoking will do that
Mewes is a great storyteller. He needs his own show.
Yeah ! Just like my bat ! Needs some more pet food ! Ohhh, I should go buy some … he’s getting hungry …. I’ll be back later 🦇
Holy shit Meweses is looking great! I watched all the movies over and over when I was younger.

Can we get Snootchie Bootchies into Star Trek too?

Jason Mewes is the Steve-O of actors
Shnickity Shnack! Love Jay. Sounding like Steve - O right now. Please do something on UK tv Pete! We'd love ya over here!
Jay is the 49 year old little brother that we're all looking out for.
LONG LIVE JASON MEWES!
SNOOCH TO THE NOOCH
WOOOO!!❤❤
In a talk, Ram Dass said about Maharaji taking LSD: "You don't need to take a bus to Delaware if you're in Delaware."
Bro what is the real name of Maharaji?
I believe the original story is told in Ram Dass’s book “Be Here Now”. I have 2 copies of that book, but don’t recall the guru’s name.
last time i saw him in whatever he was doing with that silent bob guy, he looked like he was just picked up from skid row, he looks great now.
I'm in the exact same boat (no pun intended) as Pete about the drop on Pirates of the Caribbean. I've been on that ride a million times and I fucking hate that drop 😂
I feel like there is a little bit of a youth pastor left in you, Pete. You have a good heart.
dude it's Malibu's Most Wanted with the Clit Commander

What... The... Fuck...
Not real. Get a mental check up. Do you still believe in Santa too? Loser.
Bruh
“ we’re all set” - the world
I had heard a version wherein the skinwalkers began as tribe members that were exiled for one reason or another.

*Got to love Jason. Solid dude & keeps me amewsed.*
Jason Mewes never dissapoints
Mewes!!!!!!!!!!!

love jay!
Mewes looks great. I'm happy for him.
Jay is so well-spoken
Im pretty excited about this
Imagine Batman trying to fire Bluntman and Chronic
Wow Jay is looking much better these days 😇 he hit a rough patch at one point.
Mr. Holmes sir, you may have interrupted too much. Had to stop this one due to effect. Thank you for content.
Thank you!
This could've been an hour longer tbh ❤
I love Jay.
My echinacea is gone 🤔🤭🤭
Is there a drug that can help you reduce your rate of interruptions? Pete my god man, let the conversation breath.
If you don't like his style there's other podcasts, mate. At least he's not Jimmy Fallon.
@@jcout25 You might want to double check, pretty sure you're wrong - You Made It Weird is the only podcast available on UA-cam.

Good lord, I thought Bert's ability to interrupt a convo was unrivaled. Pete is on par, if not worse
I feel like he’s not normally that way except for this episode lol
Pete you're great.
I hope both Kevin and Jason return for more episodes!
Jay is much more palatable to listen to these days than Kevin.
Yeah! Snoogins❤🎉

Can you survive off of just Kevin Smith film residuals? Even in this inflation? That is shocking.
omg jay noooo! wheres your hair?
His best role is Terry in R.S.V.P
Underrated film! Sooo good!
Idk who this guy is and I’m glad … snooch to the douccheeee
Let the guy talk dude
Snoochie Boochie
This podcast reminds me of the old soft rock hard classic by John Denver, "Put Dicks On My Shoulder In The Morning".
❤
Please connect him with sickle cell I need a honeydew from him
Looks like Jason is back on drugs. Look closely at the eyes
I highly doubt it.

50:13 the guy is funny. Does anyone think AJ Wilkerson looks like an autistic Kevin Smith?
Nooooooo... look Mewes cut his hair again.
Jason Mewes is unrecognizable. Click here to see what he looks like now.
Click your mom.
How sad that Pete Holmes is reduced to lame interviews. Stick too Batman skits.
Jay rules!!!!!! The host on the other hand is like 50% likeable 50% despicable
You know who would be the perfect guest to have on this podcast? “Weird Al” Yankovic. 🪗
Weird Al wouldn’t like being interrupted so much.
