Hey, I'm a newer subscriber and a huge Sopranos fan. I also LOVE everytime Livia is on the screen. She is one of the best characters ever written and acted in the history of television. I would also put a few others on that tier, being Tony Soprano, Archie Bunker, Michael Scott, Walter White, and Saul Goodman. However, Livia Soprano/Nancy Marchand and Saul Goodman/Bob Odenkirk are the only 2 characters who are able to make historical impacts as side characters IMO. Of course their are many others who deserve mention, but this is my top tier GOAT list. I wanna give Dexter Morgan an honorable mention (one of my personal favs).
P.S. I really like & respect the woman reactor's fire about giving Tony a slap👍. However, I have to agree that if Tony (6'2" 300lbs) was in my face, as much as I would want to hit him, I would probably do exactly what Melfi did, maybe even cry...lol. I'm a 6' 220lb man but Tony is definitely one of the more intimidating and dangerous guys I would ever wanna encounter. His hands are HUGE (in real life), and he could probably fit my whole head in one.
Livia Soprano is so well executed by Nancy Marchand you completely forget she's just a character. I'm a huge Star Trek guy and in DS9 one of the main antagonist is a religious leader by the name of Kai Winn played by Louise Fletcher, she plays the part so well it's hard to not develop a visceral hatred toward her. I see parallels with Nancy Marchand as Livia Soprano. They truly bring a palpable negative energy that comes out of the screen and into the room. By all accounts Nancy was a lovely woman in real life, but damn can she play evil well.
I love your channel so much. The Sopranos is so good.
