  • How to keep engine clean? Is flushing the engine safe? After how many km should engine flushing be done? Disadvantages of engine flushing? How to flush an engine? Engine flush quantity?Which is the best engine flush? and a lot more questions which we try to answer in this video.
    This video is a basic tutorial on how to flush an engine. Here we have used the Dominar 400 and the same process is applicable to the most of the motorcycle engines from TVS, BAJAJ, HONDA, SUZUKI, HERO etc for flushing.
    This time we have changed the engine oil on the Dominar 400 and have switched to Liqui Moly street race 10w50 grade fully synthetic engine oil.

    OH MY GOD ! I was desperately looking for a review of this product. Here you came for a rescue.
    After riding 30K KMs since inception using Yamahalube Sporty premium, before migrating on to a premium engine oil ( LM street racer) in my Yamaha R3, I used it.
    I must say! Your advice and procedures to use this product worked like a charm.
    While draining oil after using this for 10 to 12 mins, I found the oil was darker in shade and dirtier than ever before.
    Than I poured in Liqui Moli Street Racer.
    Now I am thanking you .

    I'd say treat the flushing with care as it might clog your oil galleries with deposits. In that case more harm done than good. Basis of a good engine life consists of frequent oil change interval, authentic oil and oil filter plus fuel treatment as it also acts as a solvent inside the combustion chamber.

    Great video, your DIYs are on point and very helpful. I own a fzs v2 and ride it very less approx 1200-1500kms a year. The oil change interval recommended by manufacturer is around 2500-3000km so I change my engine oil at an interval of 1.5-2 years but I always keep an eye that it does not get low. Does engine oil degrade over time or is it ok to just change at manufacturer recommended kms irrespective of time.

My experience with Liqui Moly on my car was great so thought of giving it a try and the most important it was available in 10W50 fully synthetic grade so went for it (expensive than the 300V). For now the experience is good if not better then at least it's on par with the 7100 10W50, let's see how it performs on long term 😊

    Flushing is no doubt good once in 25-30k km but how do we get rid of the residual flush sitting inside the engine as we cannot drain the engine oil completely?
    Though my engine has 2 litres oil capacity, replacement is 1.75 litres... That 250 ml is still old and mixed with this flush.... Can this cause any issues with the engine component?

    • @thesportztourer
      @thesportztourer  6 років тому +1

      Hi,
      You should be only concerned about fuel tank rest all is fine (electrical switches are well insulated so it won't a problem).
      I won't recommend covering a wet motorcycle as it does more harm than good.
      Thanks for the wonderful words, I feel blessed to read comments like this 😊

    • @lionsden6960
      @lionsden6960 6 років тому

      @@thesportztourer: Don't thank me bro, you are the one who deserves it and I was just being factual. And, I didn't catch you with that "don't cover wet bike", should we cover up before it starts raining? The water does seep in though. Or, should we cover up only the petrol tank? But being plastic, how will it be affected?

    • @thesportztourer
      @thesportztourer  6 років тому +1

      If we cover a wet bike the water inside gets trapped and can cause rust formation, condensation inside headlights, speedo, indicators etc.
      If the bike is dry then we can always cover it prior to the rain fall 👍
