Tyler we also left Saigon in February this year, 4hr layover in Manila. 30minutes before our flight leaves for California they call my name report to gate 18 for luggage inspection. All for some knee medication. Almost missed my flight. I each time back thru security. I’m done with Manila next trip I schedule to Hong Kong then to Saigon. Been watching and telling people to watch you. I have learned so much from your videos. My wife is Vietnamese and we will probably be back the end of this year or at least before new years celebrations start 2025. I have a knee replacement in September then I’ll head back to good street food. Thanks again hope to meet you some day.

It would probably be nice to have Trang come to the USA, amd hang out with you. I am sure you will be back soon. I know the visa rules, and citizenship rules,require you to come and go at certain intervals. Enjoy being back in the homie land, it'll give you a chace to get reaquainted with the smog 😁. Ignore the politics, they will only frustrate you. As for the liquor prices, you cannot get your monies worth amymore. I haven't seen my old friend Jack in a long time. Tennessee got proud! Have a really blessed time with your folks, family, and friends!

fly her to mexico and have her enter the united states through the united states/mexico border. right now the boder is wide open anybody can come in without restriction. she will have so much easier opportunity to enter the united states that way than waiting for her visa to be approved. once she's in the united states she can stay in the united states as long as she wants and nothing will happen to her.
@@minavamp2811 No, she could end up being banned from entering the USA in the future for entering illegally. Not good! She and Tyler are good people and we don't want them restricted. You cannot trust the government, and you need to know what they are doing....but they aren't going to tell you much.

Thanks for the real life video of the brutally long flight from Vietnam to LAX. You really gave me that anxiety feeling of flying to and from Vietnam. It is a real cattle cart feeling. Business class didn't look all that much better than Premium Economy, but costs thousand$ more. Keep up the good work, and I hope to see your culture shock video of life back in LA. I know that you will be shock at how much a typical MacDonald's meal will cost you in LA. Looking forward to the next video of life back in LA.

I’ve heard HCMC is building a new airport, but Vietnam Airlines will be the only Vietnamese airlines flying out of it. Hopefully that eases congestion at both

"Smells like history" best line of the video. My experience is anytime you enter a new country they make you go through security again even if you're just transferring to another flight. It does suck but I guess they have their reasons. Great job brother safe travels and welcome home!

I think it's better if you are connecting your flights from Vietnam to the USA in Japan or Korea.
I've done that too...but this ticket was significantly cheaper
Congrats on surviving the flight. It was brutal for us traveling with a 1 year old although we did a 24 hour layover in South Korea which was fun and helped to break it up. Two years ago we did Singapore to Seattle and that flight was 18 hours non stop and that was the worst flight I’ve ever been on! Have a good time while you’re back here in the states.
Thanks Robert! Yeah that's a long one for sure. I did the Singapore to LA flight which was over 15 hours...made a video about that years ago one of the first videos on my channel

I try to leave the airport late at night. Last time immigration took me 5 minutes at midnight.

i agree about the airport, they dont have clear signs saying where the Security gate is, so i asked them green uniform guys , they asked for 200k, my firend said just give it, they proceed to let us go through without waiting in line, lol , express lane.
interesting strategy, may have to keep that in mind for the future

I saw the solar eclipse yesterday. It was neat. I'll be here a few more weeks. Trang hasn't visited the US yet but she will in the future
The problem is the battery in the Bluetooth speaker. Things with a rechargeable battery in places where you can deal with them if they explode 😊

Filipino ppl are very friendly. A lot of southeast Asians are friendly, Lao ppl are the friendliest and most genuine. But the problem is a lot of southeast Asians don't speak English.

The most stupid thing I ever had to do a few years ago going through a security check was taking of my Thongs ( flip flops ) when going through Ngurah Rai airport in Bali on my way back to Australia they even put them through the X Ray scanner !

Regular would probably be fine at 5’3”. Extra leg room would be more comfortable for anyone but at my height (6’2”) I’d say it’s more essential

To avoid all the hassle in TSN security operations you should take the special service called First Thing First
in Vietnamese “Thũ Tục Đầu Tiên”. Only locals like Trang would know what it means.

Dealing with tourists all day, the PO clerk should have been more helpful. It's like pulling teeth for her to show Tyler what to do....
It is pointless to have luggage wrapped, because if the Customs people decide to check it, they will rip the wrapping, so you would have wasted your money.
