How to Crochet Lacy Shawl, Crochet Video Tutorial, Alize Angora Gold Yarn

- In this video I show how to crochet a lacy triangular shawl. The lacy design in made up of lacy shells. Front post double crochets add texture to the fabric. The ombre yarn with a delicate transition from pale green to rich green create a beautiful look.
Skill level: Intermediate
Materials: 1 skein of Alize Angora Gold yarn (20% wool, 80% acrylic), 930 yards, hook size F (3.75 mm)
Finished size: about 53 inches wide, 27 inches long

I finished the shawl and it’s really gorgeous, easily one of the best patterns I’ve ever made. I used 2 skeins (~1000 yards) of Alize Angora Gold Simli yarn and 4mm hook. Thanks Olga!

Hi Olga! Im trying to make this this beautiful shawl with your easy to follow instruccions...I'm just now in the 8th row...and Im wortied because the top part is not looking as a straight line..it is curving on top... I'm not sure why.
Hi Rosario, I just pulled out my shawl to examine it again. The corners of the triangle on the longer side are curved up a bit, very little though (maybe about 2 inches), and overall the shawl looks fine. The edge in between those corners is perfectly straight. So I think you see a significant curvature right now because you only made 8 rows, but as you continue crocheting and your piece grows, it will straighten, but on the finished shawl, on the corners you will have a very slight curvature, which will not affect the overall look of your shawl.

I have been knitting and crochet for the past 5-7 years or so and I was just at a yarn shop in studio city called la knitterie parisienne and I bought a shawl kit to make the Katia ombré shawl and I will include a picture of the shawl kit so you can see it and basically the shawl is a little confused in the wording and basically the shawl says to cast on 3 stitches and it dose not say weather to start with the light color or dark color in the shawl when you start with the 3 stitches when you cast on and also the pattern says to work in garter stitch which is just knit stitch and it says strip stitch increasing 1 stitch from the third row at the end of every right side row and I’m not sure what they are referring to so if someone can explain this to me so I can make the shawl I would appreciate it and also it says selection 5 and 6 use the darkest color so what dose that mean when it says selections 5 and 6 or 4 and 7 use the dark or lightest color I’m sure what color to use for what section and one more thing the shawl says to do for the increase you make 2 stitches form one stitch and dose that mean you do a knit front and back or do you do a different knitted increase and if someone has done this shawl I would like some advice on this shawl or I would like to know how your shawl turned out if you did do this particular shawl

Are both sides supposed to be even amount of shells?
The amount of shells on both sides should be the same, but it increases by one shell after each two rows.

I just received the yarn and unfortunately it's not that great. Very springy and stiff, some colors are also really scratchy. By which I mean to say, you're not missing much.
