I mean, that play only works if the runner can't see the ball, because it's so far over his head, if the runner is watching the ball, he breaks and scores.
@@caifanes1992 In that play, he knew he couldn't catch the ball so he faced the ball like he could. Then the runner on the first base thought he could make the catch so he stopped at the 2nd base. That play by Ichiro saved the team by preventing the player from going to the plate and thus tied the game in the 9th inning!. Legend!
Duxa21 Covers and else He made it look to Arias (the runner on 1st) as if it was a routine fly. That he could catch it, and double up Arias at first base if he ran too far. This caused Arias to slow at 2nd base, waiting to see if Ichiro would catch the ball. By the time he realized it was over his head, it was too late to get around 3rd and score. As the announcer said, brilliant play. Legend indeed.
I had a kid once tag with with his glove while the ball was in his hand so I thought i was out but everyone yelled it out and i ended up being safe lmao
A lot of good hitters/baserunners can tell off contact roughly how far a ball is going to get hit. So it doesn't usually work and lots of times confuses the fielders more than the runners.
+Joe Danger When he fakes that he can't see the ball, the CF and LF can have a sign to tell them to try it on the next fly ball hit to them if there's ever a man on first. They've definitely talked about doing it behind closed doors.
prommac2 what are u talking about no baseball team would encourage taking such a big risk like that it might even cost them the game. How many idiots r there in the comments section😒 your so clueless
The music is simply too loud at the end. The track itself is fine, but it's so far above the volume of the rest of the vid that it is an annoyance rather than a benefit.
You should consider playing MLB 16 down the road maybe, would be another interesting series to have on your channel. Like a Road to the Show or something.
That last one was funny! LOL. The first one (the catcher's fake throw to second) worked because the catcher did it correctly. He looked at second, he didn't rush it, and he made a strong move, exactly as he would have had he thrown it. Most times when you see a guy fake a throw, they do it much too quickly, and give it away. You've got to "sell" it, like it's real to make the runner commit.
02:17 "faced home plate the whole time like he was going to catch the ball" why didn't he spend his energy going after it instead? it was definitely low enough to be caught...
Yes, we need the one from 1972 World Series, where Gene Tenace stands up behind home plate to "fake intentional walk" Johnny Bench, then crouches down at the last second to catch strike 3
I think, and this is incredibly critical, if the Ichiro ball doesn't bounce straight back to him the runner's going to score anyway. If it takes a funny hop could be a triple because he's not running to the wall.
Well, if he doesn't the tying run scores. General baseball rule of thumb is to play for the win on the road, so I think taking the risk there makes sense in that context.
Hello?!.. Chuck Knoblach in game 7 of the 1991 World Series?.. He devoted Lonnie Smith, keeping him at second base, which was instrumental in keeping the game scoreless in the 8th.. Jack Morris pitches a 10 inning shut out and won 1-0..
After watching the ichiro play more and more, it seems as if he definitely could’ve caught that. It looks as though he misjudged it, thinking that it would go higher off of the wall.
This is why I love baseball. The mental aspect of the game is so underrated.
That’s actually true though
Baseball is so underrated it's a magical game nothing like it
Is it though?
Ichiro's play is so insane
*sigh*
Genius
FROM JAPAN
I mean, that play only works if the runner can't see the ball, because it's so far over his head, if the runner is watching the ball, he breaks and scores.
And they ended up winning right
What a heads up play by Ichiro. That dude is a legend
I dont understand bro that Play jaja

Phil Anderson thanks phil
Yaz did this all the time with balls off the green monster.
I'd give the award to Phillips, he got the umpire to laugh too
I did this to a kid in little league and the ump yelled at me
+kris geising Yeah because little league umps can be real assholes. But some are extremely nice
you mean people in general
I had a kid once tag with with his glove while the ball was in his hand so I thought i was out but everyone yelled it out and i ended up being safe lmao
Andre
Watch the ump when Phillips fake tags Uribe. He's laughing too.
it was the Reds
+Legend Pellicane his name is Phillips
+Sean Riley What you've never heard of the Iowa Phillips? Heck of a ballclub
Inciarte is the master at this. He has done it multiple times since being with the Braves.
Thank you so much for being pretty much the only highlights person on youtube that doesnt put annoying music in the background
Yea not a fan of that too :)
+EXE-Edits his name is Phillips
+Sean Riley oops wrong comment lol
fuck cool. play
Damn Ichiro is a badass. AT&T's right field is tough and he made it look like his home field.
This was fun! Baseball players being tricky! Loved it....
:D
I love videos about MLB moments that are out of the normal gameplay. Great work. Subbed.
ty :)
That play with Ichiro was amazing! Very smart.
Ichiro deked the crowd... he's my favorite player of all time i think :)
The first clip was Jeter and he was a master at this. Love or hate the Yankees, he was the smartest and classiest player in the history of the game.
Don't get why outfielders don't do this more often
A lot of good hitters/baserunners can tell off contact roughly how far a ball is going to get hit. So it doesn't usually work and lots of times confuses the fielders more than the runners.
+Joe Danger When he fakes that he can't see the ball, the CF and LF can have a sign to tell them to try it on the next fly ball hit to them if there's ever a man on first. They've definitely talked about doing it behind closed doors.
They also happen more in certain ballparks where the ball just hits and drops- so the outfields can fake it more often then.
prommac2 what are u talking about no baseball team would encourage taking such a big risk like that it might even cost them the game. How many idiots r there in the comments section😒 your so clueless
tanner hendriks In Boston the left fielder decoys balls off the green monster Carl yaz did it alot
Is it just me or is it so funny how Jose Altuve stood there for like a second while the guy was running at him
Love the vids keep them uncut and no music please :) subbed
Will do, thanks :D
keep up the good work
The music is simply too loud at the end. The track itself is fine, but it's so far above the volume of the rest of the vid that it is an annoyance rather than a benefit.
Why would people dislike this? It's clearly not clickbait (thank you), and it's very well put together. Good job!
ty, and I have no idea, some people just don't make sense \('-')/
1 million views.... that's insane, thank you all so much!

Awesome plays by Ichiro and Enciarte!
Ichiro is one of the all-time greats.
I love when ballplayers yuk it up, and have a little fun with each other.
My words exactly
Love how Brandon Phillips still plays the game to have fun!
Who does the academy award go to? I never got to find out
Should pay attention to the video because if you re-watch that part you'll find out they were talking to the player who pulled the trick :)
I know. It was a joke.
Ferret Goat Well when I can't see a person laughing or smiling it is hard to tell.. oh well.
La La Land.
Greg Gibson the homeplate empire
Love the Uribe clip, even the Ump is chuckling
Love the concept for this vid! Keep up the good work! The subtitles in this vid are priceless btw lol.
ty :D Yea they are pretty hilarious lol
EXE-Edits I can't stop binge watching these now lmao. You got me hooked xD
You should consider playing MLB 16 down the road maybe, would be another interesting series to have on your channel. Like a Road to the Show or something.
Burnt Toast Yea maybe sometime in the future, that'd be cool :)
EXE-Edits I'd watch haha. Anyways keep up the great work man. Peace ;)
OMGGGGGG Ichiro is not human. I think he is part alien
my new favorite baseball channel.
4:17 base runner, 2nd baseman, and umpire: all laughing
Awesome

miggys and brandon's deeks were hilarious
What about the one with Chuck Knoblauch and Greg Gagne of the Twins in 1991??
Clips like these make me love baseball even more that I already do. Lets Go Mets!
really funny stuff.
Some is amazing. I played the game for 20 years and so much is split second i'd never have thought of the deceptions.
That play by ichiro was genius
I like the show of respect by Phillips to Inciarte at 2:30.
The Uribe one was the best. Uribe started to block it ,avoid it and then say he was safe ,before laughing. Great
I love your ideas for videos! They're so unique! I love your channel!
thanks!
Ichiro won 10 straight GGs. Freakin 10!
The last one is brilliant!
you need to make another and add Elvis Andus' deek of that outfielder when he tagged up from third on a really shallow fly ball to left
Great collection. Deserves the view and the like count.
I've been up for 27 hours not tired and have school in 3 hours this is a perfect video for this
U r obviously the best baseball youtuber ever
Love the vid amazing! You should definitely make a part 2👍👍
02:17 "faced home plate the whole time like he was going to catch the ball"
why didn't he spend his energy going after it instead? it was definitely low enough to be caught...
Good work. Thanks. Love baseball fir reasons like this. Miggy made me LOL.

Greatest sport known to man.

You have amazing videos. Great job.😀😀

+EXE-Edits no problem, I truly mean it
Man I love baseball
u should make a part 2, and if u do put david freese in it, he had a couple plays when he was on the cardinals that messed with runners
good stuff, another reason to love the game.
Baseball is one of the few sports where weird shit just happens that can affect the game
Yes, we need the one from 1972 World Series, where Gene Tenace stands up behind home plate to "fake intentional walk" Johnny Bench, then crouches down at the last second to catch strike 3
Cool beans. Subbed. BRING ON THE BASEBALL!!!
its funny bc uribes been hidden ball tricked before
Part 2 ???
Inciarte is the God of faking out baserunners with flyballs.
Austin Wagner and he has the best name in the MLB
Edmonds with Sosa on second is best I’ve ever seen.
Omg these dekes are amazing
3:08 We never get to hear who the academy award goes to
Great vid as always
4:20 Even the ump had a good laugh at that one XD
the last one is the best.
god bless inciarte such a great pickup for the braves
I think, and this is incredibly critical, if the Ichiro ball doesn't bounce straight back to him the runner's going to score anyway. If it takes a funny hop could be a triple because he's not running to the wall.

Ichiro Suzuki
After watching the ichiro play more and more, it seems as if he definitely could’ve caught that. It looks as though he misjudged it, thinking that it would go higher off of the wall.
Awesome video
3:07 the academy award goes to who?!? the suspense

He says ender inciarte
What are fake outs. I don’t understand.
That last one was silly.
Where is Manny Machado's pump fake? Good vid all the same.
