    I'm a huge Ibanez fan and have always liked the Ibanez Edge Zero Tremolo with the ZPS3 System since it came out and wanted to purchase some instead of the whole guitar sometimes...now I've found something better! I can't believe I'm just now hearing about this! Getting one for my Strat, my Les Paul and some for my Ibanez's, lol!

      +Geoffrey McCabe I just got my first floating trem ibanez, regular Edge bridge from Rich @ ibanezrulez.com. That was after returning two sterling music man guitars because their strings would kink at the bridge no matter what I did. I bothered Rich some much with questions about how to set up the trem and he was kind enough to help me out. I must tell you, I was psyching myself out because I had never set up a locking system before. It can be a total PIA if you let yourself be intimidated by it, but I love what you can do once is set up.
      When I saw you talk it was like all my ideas about Bridges were being materialized.
      I want to have a similar design to Guthrie Govan's Charvel, is there any way you can make one with LOCKING that feeds the string at the top but doesn't have any tuners, i.e. to work with Locking tuners at the headstock?
      I don't know if the custom shop would that. To give you a reference think of the Original Floyd Rose with NO locking tuners that Guthrie uses.
      I would love to put a design like that in a music man JP because I did love everything else about that guitar.

    • @merkaba22
      @merkaba22 8 років тому +1

      Actually CSL has a design for this too but its a bit down the line, we have the two primary models, their variations and some things for the summer like Drop Tuners, 7/8-string models too to introduce this year ... btw: the base CSL 2:22 has bridge elements that can be loaded form the top so that the windings go tho the IP to eliminate a lot of the stretch -- they are non-locking but very consistent, all the same:)

    Wow, that looks like a huge improvement over a Floyd. I played a Krammer with an original Floyd and the sound I dreaded most in life was a string popping live. Tuning would go to shit, and I hated how big of a pain changing that one string was gonna be. Your trem looks absolutely fantastic!!!

    This fixes all the issues people have when setting up a full floating trem, but imo if you still dont understand the whole floating trem concept you will still have problems. Its like a teeter totter you play on as a kid you have to find the perfect balance of pull when the strings are in tune to the counter pull of the springs. The dial is the tool you need to first lock the bridge when you restring it then tune it and then dial in the new tension change.
    The problems with the floyd is you always need the rear cover off so you can adjust the springs when you need, this leaves the springs exposed and if you play with your shirt off you can get bit

    This trem looks a lot like my Peavey Vandenberg trem. Mine is in new condition because I found a new boxed trem unopened from around 1990 or maybe the late 80s. I was searching for a unit that I could find parts to rebuild a working unit but when I saw the Khaler boxed I just paid the money he wanted and was set to rebuild and paint the Vandenberg guitar which had been ruined with horrible paint and incorrect PUs ect. I got the guitar real cheap and It will be done in original red and original Pus I found on another guitar. The trem woks perfectly and has the barrel tubular slots that you poke the string down and tighten up by hand only! Fast easy and made from hard steel parts.

    Might be ok. I would like to try it and see. I always said there are two types of tremolos, those that are in tune, and those that will go out of tune soon after use. I have locked down so many Floyds and Wilkinsons because people don't have the patience to set them up after changing strings or changing the gauge of strings. Seeing/hearing would be the test. Cool stuff. Hope it works. Will buy one soon and try it!

    Great design, by my personal taste is heavy metal bridges kill body resonance. All you get is the metal reflecting the string, making it harder for the amp to make the body shake sympathetically: the classic Santana sustain, etc. The guitar & amp can't talk to each other the heavier the guitar/bridge is. I'd love to see this in titanium, though.

    • @bluwng
      @bluwng 7 років тому

      That's a really complex design, over engineered in my opinion. It will be very difficult to make a working "cheap" knock off. Floyds are ridiculously simple design hence easy to duplicate. A Floyd is essentially a modified fender bridge that locks at both ends and the range has nothing to do with the bridge and more to do with guitar routing.

    • @Exgrmbl
      @Exgrmbl 7 років тому +1

      There's not much new to this design actually. It's pretty similar to the one done by Atlansia which has been around since the 80s.
