L'articolazione meticolosa, la calibrazione del voicing e la ieraticità dell'impostazione espressiva rivelano un profondo studio, oltre che un talento cristallino.
Esecuzione magnifica e originale, col contrappunto nitidissimo e con un senso di soffuso misticismo sonoro che rendono veramente bene l'insuperata meraviglia di questo capolavoro.

Although I knew of course how suddenly and abruptly this masterpiece ends, Gorini's 'natural' approach to this technically and mathematically very complicated work of art made that the ending of Contrapunctus 14 took me by surprise.

Astounding performance. The final measures leading to the abrupt break at the end of this work 1:38:10 are always a shocking moment. Although I've heard at least one satisfying completion of Contrapunctus XIV, the ending as heard with the abrupt break is something one never forgets.

At the end of Contrapunctus 14, Gorini projected into the Noumenon with the power of the 7 step descent and 7 step ascent. That is his interpretation. Bravo, his research on this great philosophical treatise in music by JSB.

Sublime musicianship from Maestro Gorini. A few personal highlights:
Contrapunctus X, in my view the most beautiful fugue ever written, played with the pathos it deserves.
Contrapunctus XI, in my view the most miraculous fugue ever written, played with the building intensity and drive this masterpiece of a triple-fugue deserves.
Contrapunctus XIV, in my view the summative fugue for Bach's life, played with the depth and appropriately abrupt ending the fugue deserves.
There are, of course, so many more great things to say, but I'll stop here!
di particolàre nitòre lo rilièvo de la tràma polifònica, ma, accosto a l'icasticità de lo geometrìsmo contrappuntìstico spira per l'ovùncue uno spìrito di commoziòne sevèra. Lo tòcco de l'intèrprete è in perfètto ecuilìbrio fra "logos" e "arcanicità", fra lo leibniziano "essercìzio matematico" e magìa estètica.

Per niente proprio, tutto è preciso sia tecnicamente che contrappuntisticamente parlando ma la scelta delle velocità di esecuzione non permette di avere grande controllo del suono e quindi non c'è assolutamente lo stesso effetto di "pelle d'oca" come prodotto grazie al tocco di Gould (il quale a sua volta non è nulla in confronto al tocco magico di ABM, lui si è veramente l'inarrivabile, oltre il genio)

Perchè non capire/accettare/distinguere l'interpretazione ascoltando "Angela Hewitt", nei dischi registrati p/c dell' Hiperion?
Così forse, si é in grado di percepire le differenze musicali interpretative dei brani musicali di Bach, e non "le sofferenze indicibili" dell'esecutore ripresi direttamente "dal vivo..."?
Perchè a tutti gli esecutori é normale "sentire ed interpretare" ciascun brano secondo il proprio sentire personalizzato, ma forse la realtà delle interpretazioni non é quella di (come)"lasciare questo regno di sofferenza in questo mondo" , quando si esegue qualche brano, ma solamente riuscire a saperlo interpretare secondo il linguaggio comune dell'epoca.
Con i giusti fraseggi e soprattutto con i tempi musicali, "non eccessivamente dilatati" che a mio parere, non sembrerebbero essere per nulla rispettati secondo l'autore.
Tatiana Nikolayeva would just smooth out the end of 14th. She did not perceive it as a philosophical treatise in music. The Noumenon cannot be denied which in the following time of Schopenhauer, interest in Eastern spirituality was awakened. Little wonder that a genius like JSB would already apprehend what was coming.
Stupid comment! Bach knew nothing about eastern philosophy and didn't see anything comming.

Molto bravo. Ma è Genovese? Ho 60 anni, e almeno da 40 sostengo che J. S. Bach è un ultra Romantico. Ho saputo che Gorini, sulla RAI ha presentato Bach appunto in una luce affine, (ben diversa da quella generalmente diffusa, strutturalista, per così dire,) il lavoro del Contrappunto. E quindi son ancora più contento che un grande Maestro condivida questo mio sentire per Bach. A parte ciò, un grande grazie per questa opera.
L'unica cosa che oso dire, è che i bassi dovrebbero, ogni tanto, sentirsi un pochino di più, per far sentire meglio le connessioni interne alle varie linee melodiche.
