    I really like this method, I have made them your previous style, I’ve made ones with buttons, and now I’m going to try this. Thank you, your instructions are very clear, as always.

    Oh I love this version, and you have given me and idea to up-cycle all those embroidery vintage hand towels by using 2 for each one, thank you thank you, and hello sweet Coco.

    I think it wd be even quicker to make by not pleating the top fabric- just double it with or without interfacing the same width as the pleated or gathered towel. Love the idea of snaps tho as I hate making buttonholes n sewing on buttons

    Christine, you could even put some little ties on both sides.

    Christine, these are lovely. My only concern is, when putting these towels over the handle of the oven, they drag on the floor when I open the oven door:(. I guess I have to remember to remove them when baking?😜

    • @ChristinesHomeAffairs
      @ChristinesHomeAffairs  3 місяці тому +1

      I probably shouldn't admit this, but if the towels hang on the floor for a few seconds whilst I open the oven door, I don't usually worry about it. I have more trouble with them falling off when they're not secured😀

    Could I do crazy patchwork. To make them look 'country' or will it be too thick and bulky😊

    What is the reason for putting pleats in the fabric? It looks nice!

    As I watched this video, I think these are super cute, but I’m lazy. So my brain said, I’d do it this way.
    I’d sew the towels flat to the fabric, pleat it all at one time, not have a pleat on the inside/back, press it all, with the fabric edge folded up for the area across the back, stitch the tube closed, then when flipped, it would be open across the towels on the inside/back, but the top stitching would close it. Add snaps and done. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      I did it like that too, same method I use for cuffs and collars on shirts.

    Whilst these look really lovely I don’t understand why you would not just hang the towel over the rail, is there a reason for hanging them this way?

    • @ChristinesHomeAffairs
      @ChristinesHomeAffairs  3 місяці тому

      No reason at all. Just something a little different to have in the kitchen😁

    Ohhh....don't stab yourself with the awl. Oops, I need to listen to the instructions better. But that's why I keep bandaids in the sewing room.😊
