    I've owned Yamaha, Korg and Roland synths including a Jupiter 8 but right now I think Cherry Audio might just be my favourite synth designer. Superb innovative sounds and incredibly well priced. More please! 😎

    I love that MPE support is on this! I'm going to play it from my Linnstrument. Also appreciate the graphic EQ, that's a useful feature I think. I found myself wondering whether oscillator settings could be copied from one to another... I must check that. Thanks for the demo!

    This is a very nice sounding synth - and a great video thank you Starsky ! I think FM synths sound great when they're filtered, so it's nice to have a fully dynamic, modulated FM synth with filtering. Looking forward to picking this one up.

    I haven't found myself using vst synths for a few years now because I don't feel as artistically connected when using them. But I may have to intersperse this one with my hardware synths cause it's just so cool and sounds so good!

    Awesome swift intro, Starsky! Downloaded and tried out. Almost wish they'd build a hardware one out of this engine :-D

    • @ssssssssssss885

      $40 spent. It is really, really fun. Some patches really go on the CPU. My quad core 2.73GHz one can't keep up with some of the 8+ voice patches, Cherry does recommend a 3.4Ghz quad core though. Still I can live with that, reduce the number of voices, lesser demanding patching.

      it depends on what soft synth and what physical synth. think about moog one or waldorf iridium. they're far more powerful than a normal soft synth

    • @HOLLASOUNDS

      @@valeriopezzuto3382 I'm not sure Moog One is actually more powerful because in software you can load up the same synth as many times as your CPU can handle.

    Can you imagine the UI as an actual hardware synth? I don't think people's arms would be long enough, and need some sort of articulated arm extender lol.

    • @StarskyCarr
      @StarskyCarr  2 роки тому +3

      Haha not at all which is why I quite like it. I was taken aback at first - there’s so much going on - but once you take a minute to understand it - it’s a bit like a mixing desk - loads of knobs but many doing similar things in different channels.

      @DankePlace 2 роки тому

      @@StarskyCarr Yeah I see the ease of workflow, hows the UI on different resolutions?
      I think something like the MIDI fighter 64 would be a great companion with this for real live tweaking.

    Almost too complex for me. I used to dive deep into things like this 10-15 years ago with stuff like Absynth and some reaktor ensembles.
    These days I rather go with choosing a great sounding preset for complex sounds (like from Omnisphere) and maybe tweak it a little bit. But the most useful sounds for me (making mostly Synthwave stuff nowadays) are way less complex synths where the instant feedback/access and the way it actually sounds is more important to me at least.

    • @David3Wise
      @David3Wise 2 роки тому +2

      I think a Macro Page would work wonders for this synth. Preferably per preset. It would completely de-clutter the synth and make it far more accessible for those who prefer instant sweeping changes. Trillian from Spectrasonics has a Custom Controls Page per patch, and something like that for SINES would help make it immediately more tweakable. Pluginguru's Unify and Bluecat Audio's Patchwork could do this with their macro features. I'm sure unify will have templates for SINES very soon.
      However: having used this synth for several hours now.
      It sounds very, very good. A very strong and defined character soft, fat and filtered too. I think this is one of Cherry Audio's strongest synths.
      The UI: Having used it now for a few hours. I really like it. It might look a little complicated at first, but the 4 oscillators are simply stacked and repeated. Because everything is available on one page; the interface is logically laid out and quick to use. Once familiar with the controls, it then becomes easy to get quick results. And - there's always the focus button.
      The design of the UI, also helps me find the controls quickly as I remember where on the curve they are. It soon becomes very intuitive.

    • @Magnus_Loov
      @Magnus_Loov 2 роки тому

      @@David3Wise Yup! It's looks very cluttered right now and I don't think that gimmick with the buttons arranged in a Sinewave themselves helps either. It only puts me off even more!
      Don't get me wrong, I still do tweak sounds a lot, but more on standard subtractive synths and mainly for a subset of everything available most of the time.
      I really get more and more into get more stuff done as quick as possible before setting into "I'm just gonna tweak this one more thing".

    • @HOLLASOUNDS
      @HOLLASOUNDS 2 роки тому

      It's not actually that complex really just, if you can understand subjective sythersizors you can understand this, however I have plenty of soft sythersizors and a few good physical ones so I'm not looking to get anymore.

    • @Magnus_Loov
      @Magnus_Loov 2 роки тому +1

      @@HOLLASOUNDS It's not about "understanding it" for me. It's about the immediacy that is lost.
      The hands-on experience.
      And the cluttered interface.
      Also the arrangements of the buttons in a sine-way like wave which makes it even more cluttered.

      It looks a bit mental at first, but is actually really simple to find your way around. I’ve described it as being like a mixing console. Loads of stuff in front of you but lots replicates the same things on different channels/oscillators. But what it does mean is that everything is on the same page which is much better than menu diving. I think it’s a brave move rather than having FX in one tab and mod matrix in another for example.

      So, there's no accounting for taste :-) This one actually sounds gorgeous to me, bought it almost instantly, and that's different from most other CA synths. Most of them are in the "not for me" category, but I really love this one. All the things I've ever wanted to do to sine waves, all in one place.
