I wish there was a way to not make it sound like all surgeons in Mexico are bad or dangerous. There are many great plastic surgeons with lots of experience and education in the country, but of course those are not the cheapest options. People look for the cheapest which end up not being the safest and ultimately end up giving a bad reputation to every surgeon in the country :( But thanks Dr. Youn for approaching the subject gracefully.

In my country few years ago was a famous case of Frankenstain Surgeon. That woman was taking price as high as professional doctors but doesnt even done basic medical education. She botched hundreds of people and was very emotionally abusive to them to keep them silent, also some of her operation was literally performed on her own kitchen. Sometimes even high price will not help...

I think anyone who is reasonable knows that there are some surgeons on mexico who studied properly, do great work with excellent results in the best conditions available. But as you say, they're not the cheapest options, and people who leave the country for surgery search for a hugely discounted option because they want to offset the price of travel, the stay and the surgery/recovery, so they want to save even more than of they just wanted a discount on surgery. It's sad that people are willing to get these surgeries, but not willing to save and wait for the absolute best possible work available.

There are plenty of other reasons to not get surgery in Mexico. Good luck charging a doctor with malpractice or getting ANYTHING done when the country allows itself to be run by a cartel... yeah there's "good surgeons" in Mexico but that doesn't make it a good idea to go get surgery in Mexico.

Im not against plastic surgery, however I don’t understand why people go abroad to have a medical procedure when their deciding factor is the price! If it’s not in your budget and not life-saving surgery, don’t risk it. And if it’s not in your budget, don’t force it. Maybe it’s not meant for you right now. Or wait until you’ve saved up. Maybe by then you’ll decide its not the right procedure for you. Either way, don’t rush and trade your health for a botched surgery. A lot of people with badly done surgeries often say they wished they waited before they jumped the gun.

    • @kuroyuri04

yes, the body is used forever until the end of life.
if they want a cheap price for cosmetic surgery, then that means they don't value their own body and health and only care about external beauty appearance.
in fact, the cheap ones will be attached to their bodies forever, to the death.
and the cost of treating complications that arise from cheap, perishable goods, in the end, is many times the cost of installation.

If done smartly, getting a surgery abroad actually saves a ton of money. Taking my country for example (India) a looot of foreigners visit for cheaper surgeries and get great results out of it without having to spend too much. USA's basic healthcare costs are ridiculous, let alone luxuries such as plastic surgery. You can actually get top notch healthcare for a fraction of a price here.

It’s called medical tourism and there’s HUGE business in it worldwide - people come to America for medical reasons just as often as people go abroad. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Why? Because people need or want something done that they cannot, for whatever reason, access in their home country, whether that is for legal or financial reasons.

    • @itszenbaby
      @itszenbaby 2 роки тому +46

@@khills i am aware of the medical tourism market, South Korea and Turkey are hotspot destinations for this. Im sure most people have access to good plastic surgeons in their country. Im just saying personally I wouldn’t do surgery abroad because of the risk of complications post opp during healing and not having the original doctor with you to monitor your progress. I have a friend who went to Turkey for a BBL. She left on Wednesday and came back by Friday. Travelling is a lot of stress after surgery.

My mom got her bariatric done in Mexico. She did a lot of research. The facility was a pretty popular one to go to, up to standard equipment, surgeons all had degrees from either Canada or US and English was mandatory to know. Which one? I'd have to ask.... cause I might go next (don't need bariatric, for other things).
Edit: The surgeon was recommended by one here and would take care of her aftercare, she spent half the money and with the rest of the money she had a quite lavish vacation for 2 weeks before hand. 0 issues to this day.

She came back looking great, noastinh. Now, about 8 years later, she’s had to have everything removed because of medical issues. She just had her breast implants removed. Everything she had done has had to be undone. Sad thing is they could not afford any of what she did. They’re not monied people. $70,000 wasted. 😣

    • @ilean7499

You say “remove” so was it breast implant sickness and her body reacted badly to the implants? Because if so that’s not an out of country issue, that’s just her body attacking foreign material and would’ve happened even if she went to a top US surgeon. It’s a more common complication than people realize and a lot of money is wasted reversing the procedure.

Not really. For mexico, sure, but in most developed countries plastic surgery is a lot cheaper than the US, and the surgeons are just as good. A $10,000 nose job will cost you $4,000 in Istanbul and the difference will be nonexistent. Especially when you go through an agency that connects you to foreign surgeons and provides translators and hotel all under the label price.

For anyone who is reconsidering getting a BBL. You can always work out your glutes in order to get a bigger butt. In order to get a naturally bigger butt regardless of your genetics, you can work out three of the muscles in your butt, the gluteus maximus, gluetus minimus, and gluetus medius and train all of these muscles for hypertrophy while using moderate to heavy weight. You cannot get your butt bigger, if you are lifting light weight or only doing bodyweight glute exercises. You have to do glute exercises with moderate to heavy weight in order for your butt to grow. The gluteus maximus muscle is the one that plays the biggest role in the size of your butt. People like Coco Austin, Chiara Pugliesi, Yanet Garcia, Daisy Keech, Kaur beauty, etc. all have a real big butt from working out their glutes and none of them have a BBL.

It's both actually. Going outside of the country means language barriers that will force you to have to talk through a translator rather than the doctor themselves. It also means that you will not have access to the surgeon during your recovery if anything going wrong and in the worst case scenario you won't be able to sue for malpractice if you get botched because you won't be a citizen of their country. Leaving the country comes with its own set of challenges and drawbacks, which is why the lower price point is one of the main appeals of it

People go to Korea all the time for medical tourism but everyone is literally disgusted and horrified when they go to a Latin American country even though we have high standards of care just like the first world. The reason gringos get botched is because they don't look for the reputable surgeons we locally use. They go for the ones operating on the edge of legality with the best advertising. Brazil is second to Korea in terms of plastic surgery procedures and the surgeries are pretty affordable thanks to the exchange rate. But Latin America has this stigma of being unsafe because gringos insist on going to the worst surgeons locals refuse to go to! Jesus Christ

I wouldn’t recommend going abroad to either Korea or Latin America unless you had a really good understanding that most of these folks wouldn’t bother with.
