- License Plate LED installation on VW Golf MK5.
I've decided to upgrade the License Plate Lights as the LED Festoon bulbs that were canbus have started to flicker and turn off after a few minutes and throw an error on the dash.
Hopefully don't have any issues with them.
How have they been a year down the line. Just got a cheap pair off Amazon and fitted today. Very nice and bright

Did you have a dash code when you had led bulbs in your stock housing? I’m thinking about doing that
I've used LED bulbs in the past but they have to be canbus, so no errors.

Out of interest are they still working ok after 6 months?
Yes they are working fine still, prior to this upgrade I used to change the bulbs to LED ones and they wouldn't last that long, the resistors stabilised it.
How would you say, are they too bright ? That's my biggest concern as i want something modern but discreet.
These are not obnoxiously bright, just perfect.

Tried to install similar ones on my Mk5 golf 2007. All plugged in correctly but doesnt light up. Any ideas?
Is it canbus error free ones?
@@AlexHusTech I believe so mate, they are like yours with the canbus connectors. Can you confirm which way the connector goes into the actual light module? do the metal pieces face downwards?

Not sure, are they canbus ones?
@@AlexHusTech yes , they are, before I have changed on dash board was error and after I changed dashboard is clear but no light on number plate
what is the purple round thing for ?... error correction or something ?
Yes that's it, without it you'll get a error on the dash & won't work.

Was it a canbus one? My one was a nice blueish tint to it so I decided to leave it like that.
