My niece makes beautiful handmade copper ‘bag charms’ and I don’t think they look tacky at all! If you have just one made from metal it’s not cluttered looking.
I am really enjoying one curated bag charm per each of my bags. I have one of my grandmother's antique brooches on one - it would be well over a 100yrs old by now as I am 63. A 2", hand made, porcelain purse dangling on a second bag. A third bag has a leather 4" vintage trunk on it. Each is unique and artistic on their own and on the purses they add a bit of special fun. Dangling cheap stuffed animals etc though is not my vibe.
Big no on the bag charms. Definitely a young look. And I agree I wouldn’t put one on one of my luxury designer bags. Thank you for your videos!!! I use them a lot! ❤
I feel like it's a select special type of person who can do socks with Mary janes with like dressier shoes and it's the same person who can pull off bag charms. I love it somebody who takes risks And this may be a little artistic that has never been my personal style but I do love it for other people and that's cool if we were all the same and then it would be boring and then it wouldn't really be fashion with it if we were all wearing the same thing and doing the same thing.❤
I have a rather old Hobo bag from Express…it’s tan suede in excellent condition and ABSOLUTELY love it! So trending and I just shopped from my closet 😍
hello dear! i love your videos. thank you for the tips you give. i just discovered the charms for the bags and i fell in love with them. even if i am 60 years old. i think they give a little joy to the very basic looks that are the trend in the last few years. an interesting twist that can tell something about you 🤗
I'm definitely not doing the slouchy bag. My handbags must stand up straight on their own. Nothing looks as sad as a puddle of melted leather where a handbag should have been. Sticking with structured handbags!
I’m so into socks with everything! And tall socks under tall boots is my fave! Just bought a charm necklace but for my purses I’ve only really played w leopard print scarfs and took a tie from my husband as well to tie around purse handles! Also just ordered a leopard print belt :)
Dear Ms Anna, I know what you mean about....bag charms. I like to keep it classy-elegant and...well, minimal; that is why charms are not...on my bag! (if I had one 😆). What do you think about little-cutie back-pack as a purse/bag? It is not mentioned anywhere...is it gone bye bye??? Thank you so much for the research and time you put into your informative (and FUN!!!) videos! Take care Ms Anna, helene :)
Thanks for your posts - I enjoy your style and comments! I started wearing socks with flats because I like the shoe style but my skin is too sensitive to wear shoes that rub my skin. Even the small rubbing with no-show socks I makes my skin raw. I am not sure I like the look but wearing thin fancy socks with flats sure feels great!
Bag charms for little girls are cute; for women, I completely agree with you. The charms just take away from the look of the bag & truly cheapen the bag. As for the sock thing, ok if cold with loafers or sneakers and pants; otherwise, you have to be very young with very long legs to pull off those horizontal, leg shortening lines. (And on older women like me, we’d just look frumpy… or crazy!)
My favorite jewelry has white pearls with some elements of yellow gold-toned metal. A classic strand of pearls is lovely on younger ladies, but it’s not as modern-looking as more mixed-element jewelry. I used to wear a classic pearl strand when younger, but at age 64, it just looks like I never updated my look. I probably wear my pearl station necklace, with yellow gold chain links, more than any other piece. I love pearl and gold earrings, too, and have a variety of styles. Pearls are so feminine and suit my “Soft” coloring very well. I love how they bring light to the face, as a white or ivory top does, this flatters everyone. (Ivory for warm coloring, white for cool coloring).
Most if us be dissing the bag charms until iur granddaughters or nieces gist them to us this Christmas....and ask us to wear matching sets on our handbags 😂😂😂😂
My adult daughter just gave me a white, stuffed, furry, heart charm to put on my soft grey Ted Baker bag, and I was thrilled, as how rare is that today!
Oh I love slouchy bag, like going to the gym and after run around, or the beach. Love bracelet bag. You sold me😂 right now I love clasp bags. I got from old Celine mini clasp bag. And I want to get the east west clutch from the row. Pearls are beautiful. So happy I got Mikimoto adjustable gold lariat necklace with some pearls. It’s interesting it’s not boring. Something different goes with everything 😜 Have a blessed day🙏❤️
I always preferred shoulder bags, cross-body straps dig into the skin between my neck and shoulder (probably because they’re so narrow). Cross-body bags can also crease my outfit, so I don’t like them with my linen clothes. Cross-bodies have their place, like for travel, but for daily use a shoulder bag seems easiest. Very deep “portrait” aspect bags are trending, but I prefer a shallower “landscape” orientation bag. In deep bags, all the little things like keys and lipstick, are hard to retrieve from the bottom of the bag.
Just a tip… I use a light weight structured bag where everything is in place and easily accessible, and insert it into my slouch bag. That works for me.😊
I bought a medium sized burgundy hobo bag that I’m really enjoying. I have a small Eiffel Tower on my hobo bag as a charm but I just can’t with the big stuffed animals on a bag, especially multiples at once, it’s just to child-like.
I agree with the socks with loafers and trousers but I would leave some of the other sock trends for someone else younger than myself.. love suede slouchy bags but the bracelet bags are not for me.. I think bag charms could work for me if the charm maybe looked more like a jewelry artisanal type of accessory and not look like at all like a toy or mini stuffed animal for a kid's backpack.. awesome video, as always!
I like bag charms, but I think people are getting carried away with some of it. One or two. That's enough. And the charm shouldn't be overwhelming, I think understated is best. It's like the Chanel style advice of putting on all of your jewelry and then taking off one piece to hit "just right". People don't know how to do that anymore, it's all or nothing.
Anna….love the brown button-front leather pants you’re wearing in one of your shots. Can you provide info on that item….I’ve been looking for brown/camel colored leather pants without breaking the bank. Thanks!!!
I have a bag charm which is attached to my house keys, that’s what I thought it was meant to be used for! I don’t mind socks but personally wouldn’t wear them with feet stuffed in a pair of ballet flats or sling backs. That combination looks, to me at least, as if there’s too much sock in the shoe.
I totally agree about the bag charm trend. It just cheapens the look of a bag. I recently bought a cute purse and it was accessorized with charms that I immediately took off after purchase. Just more junk to weigh me down. Lol
I like the bag charms, but I am very minimalistic with mine just one chain and maybe the cute little Coach cherry charm, but all over the bag is not for me.😊
I have always loved the slouchy shoulder bags and had one in the 80s. As far as charms on bags go, one could be a lively accessory but any more than that is a no for me. It could ve cute for young women tho.
Loving new socks with loafers. So inexpensive and fun to slightly improve a look. (Not the white schoolgirl type, more woolen look). Who cares I’m 61! Still wearing shorter Skorts. Wish I was brave enough to wear a mini anything. Definitely no bag charms. 😂I’m 50 yrs over that.
I do like the socks showing at the top of boots. As for bags/purses, any bag or purse that is large, heavy, drapey, pulling on my shoulder, well, they just aren't for me. I'm a small person and I don't haul a bunch of stuff around, and I don't like stuff pulling on my shoulders or neck, so I'll stick to small bags, and mostly crossbody style. Trendy or not.
Some tends are for the young women and girls. Like the socks with every style of shoe. It looks cute on a twenty-year-old, but would look just silly on anyone past 25! I like the way hobo bags look but I don't find them to be practical. You've got to dig through everything in them to find what you actually want. I prefer a purse where things are organized and easy to get at. And I do like the look of suede, but it reminds me too much of the 60s where everyone had something suede and we saw it everywhere! I had a suede skirt, hobo bag, and suede shoes back then. My husband had a suede jacket then! Yikes! I'm over suede, but I would imagine younger people will find it fun now. And NO, there is no "cool way" for a mature woman to have charms on her purse! That is also a trend for the very, very young! Like grade school age! LOL!
I never stopped wearing socks, I can’t stand the feeling of bare toes in closed-toe shoes. But, I wear mostly dresses and skirts and would rather wear tights with those in the cold weather (bare legs and sandals in warm weather). I think this might be one of those rare cases where I’m too old (64) to wear little socks with dresses. I do wear ankle or knee socks when home alone sometimes, but as an outdoor look or outfit I think I would feel self-conscious. I do still wear mini skirts, though, I’m just not sure. Maybe I’ll try it with socks over matching tights and see how that feels.
Yes, the little girl in me loves the bag charms (especially since it wasn't a trend when I was a little girl, rats) but as a grownup I wouldn't carry a bag weighed down with keychains and tchotchkes.
I was at a HS football game recently. The HS girls have embraced the bag charms as well as the cutsie socks and shoes. I am a great grandmother, i will pass on these trends. I do like Gingiberry pearls.
I don’t think those multiple bag charms look sophisticated, or even very adult. I would keep them to a minimum, maybe one to three at most, and use only high-quality ones. Stuffed animal and plastic ones just look cheap. For years I had a hand-beaded strawberry charm on my bag that got lots of compliments. My Mom and I each bought a charm together from the artisan, she got a cute beaded frog one. It’s one of my many happy shopping with Mom memories, she died two years ago and I miss her. But, as I got more bags and started changing them with my outfits more often, I got out of the habit of using that charm. I’ll see if I can find my strawberry charm to remind me of her.
I lived in Japan and grown adult office women would have these cutesy pie tipping onto the silly charm spectrum attached to their bags. So for Us! No Please leave them attached to your toddlers teething spoon
I think if you're in grammar school, high school, college, maybe even in your 30's bag charms make sense, but as you get older...are they really even meant for you? I don't know. I think it's a personal decision, but probably one that makes less sense the more mature you are....

55 and have one leather bag charm I use on any bag. Very simple but it makes me happy. A bird and a leaf❤
I have a leather black cat one and I love it too
Love burgundy and grey
Same! ❤️
Love my coach apple charm.. And I am 50!
Bag charms - eek!!
I am really enjoying one curated bag charm per each of my bags. I have one of my grandmother's antique brooches on one - it would be well over a 100yrs old by now as I am 63. Love that! I feel like the older the better in this trend too! ❤️❤️
Dig ladies dig! Sometimes you have things in your closet that’s trending already!
Likewise. All my shoulder bags for the 90s are now in style 😎
@@LM-xb4fq Dig!! 😂 I love that!
Lucky you❤
I have a vintage Gucci purse and I added a double cherry 🍒 charm to it, it is really pretty fabulous and gives it a great pop of color!
That actually sounds like it would be really cute! ❤️
hello dear! i love your videos. thank you for the tips you give. i just discovered the charms for the bags and i fell in love with them. even if i am 60 years old. i think they give a little joy to the very basic looks that are the trend in the last few years. an interesting twist that can tell something about you 🤗
absolutely, I'm 63 and described my bag charms in my own comment. They are a bit of fun and there's nothing wrong with that.
❤️❤️❤️
I am a big fan of belts. The same outfit can easily change its look with different belts. They help to put a look together.
I love the snake patterned belt. Unlike the leopard print which is worn during the Autumn and Winter, the snake print could be worn all year round.
It’s very versatile!
Leopard just like snake or zebra are all neutrals that can be worn all year.
Depends on the charms.
Hair looks amazing 🤩
Thank you! ❤️❤️
I agree with you. The bag charms are juvenile.
Dear Ms Anna,
I know what you mean about....bag charms.
Take care Ms Anna,
helene :)
Luv the seude bags ❤
Agree with you regarding bag charms, been there done that
Yep! 😀❤️
I’ve always worn sockets with sneakers or loafers, as my feet are always cold.
I guess I’m trending now😊
Thanks for your posts - I enjoy your style and comments! I started wearing socks with flats because I like the shoe style but my skin is too sensitive to wear shoes that rub my skin. Even the small rubbing with no-show socks I makes my skin raw. I am not sure I like the look but wearing thin fancy socks with flats sure feels great!
It’s always best to go with what feels more comfy ❤️
I agree that the bag charms can look juvenile, but maybe just one could be cool
I have a vintage Gucci purse and I added a double cherry 🍒 charm to it, it is really pretty fabulous and gives it a great pop of color!
I just threw a green suede bag in my cart! Love. It!
Bag charms! Cute, if you're in 3rd grade!! :)
Or Emily in Paris😉
My thoughts exactly 😀
Agree
Definitely for the younger crowd 🎉
Agreed
Bag charms for little girls are cute; for women, I completely agree with you. The charms just take away from the look of the bag & truly cheapen the bag. You have summed up my thoughts exactly 😂
Agreed
Love my bag charms , big 51 year old girls
Bag charms are fun and cute and I love them! Gives my bags personality and I think they look great! ☺️
(Ivory for warm coloring, white for cool coloring).
Love this! I also love pearls mixed with metals ❤️❤️
Thanks for the tip. I’ll start wearing my pearls with our necklaces.
Most if us be dissing the bag charms until iur granddaughters or nieces gist them to us this Christmas....and ask us to wear matching sets on our handbags 😂😂😂😂
I just knew that I’d hit the jackpot when I found my chocolate brown suede shoulder bag at Marshall’s years ago😂
Yesss!!! 🙌❤️
Hermes and Dior have been doing bag charms for years now.
My adult daughter just gave me a white, stuffed, furry, heart charm to put on my soft grey Ted Baker bag, and I was thrilled, as how rare is that today!
Ewww too juvenile

No charms on my bags😊
🤣🤣 same!
Ditto on the charms. Too teen for me. I did see a burgundy fur pom charm that looked more mature that tempted me, but still passed;)
I always preferred shoulder bags, cross-body straps dig into the skin between my neck and shoulder (probably because they’re so narrow). In deep bags, all the little things like keys and lipstick, are hard to retrieve from the bottom of the bag.
So true! I actually said exactly what you just said about the crossbody vs shoulder in this video but edited it out bc I was getting too wordy 🤣🤣
Just a tip… I use a light weight structured bag where everything is in place and easily accessible, and insert it into my slouch bag. That works for me.😊
Thank you, Anna, I've learnt so much from you, you keep me on trend! ❤
I can see the teens jumping on the bag charm trend. Cute form of self-expression.
Thanks! Where is the gorgeous cardigan you're wearing from?
Ooops forgot to link that! Here you go I'm wearing a small it runs a little big bit.ly/3O2zl4g
I bought a medium sized burgundy hobo bag that I’m really enjoying. I have a small Eiffel Tower on my hobo bag as a charm but I just can’t with the big stuffed animals on a bag, especially multiples at once, it’s just to child-like.
About to head out to see someone I haven't seen in a long time. Glad to see this video! Thanks.
Have fun! ❤️
Love your sweater Anna🥰🌺👍🏽👏🏽
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Your hair are juste Amazing
Now I mix metals
I love Gingerberi ! I have their dangly pearl earrings that are convertible. I want the lariat necklace. ❤
Love their convertible pieces! ❤️❤️

Tell me about your sweater. I really like it.

Aw I love those… I got them a couple years ago and they are out of stock! 😭
I'm with you Anna I hate bag charms. They look ok for the younger girls. I don't want them to scratch up my good bags.
Agree. Not into the bag or shoe charms.🥴

Love this, Marie ❤️❤️
No bagcharms for me!!!
The charms can be done tastefully. One or two, good materials, etc. can look good. A whole bunch including a plastic Mickey Mouse? Ooffff
Bag charms are juvenile
I do like the socks showing at the top of boots. As for bags/purses, any bag or purse that is large, heavy, drapey, pulling on my shoulder, well, they just aren't for me. ❤️❤️❤️
1 or 2 little charms may be ok but maybe to load down with the charms make nice bag look tacky
Hi Anna
What hurt me more than the charms, is a Kelly with rain drops on the leather. OUCH!!!!!!! MON DIEU!
Knit shoes & boots flat or kitten heel
Yaaaay she said Quince correctly! 😂🎉
lol I hope everyone can breathe now 🤣🤣
🔥🔥
How do you getting more and more gorgeous every video? 😍
Some tends are for the young women and girls. Like the socks with every style of shoe. It looks cute on a twenty-year-old, but would look just silly on anyone past 25!

I also feel like I would look a little juvenile wearing ankle socks with dresses so I feel you! ❤️
Bag charms and anklets are for the younger crowd
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes, the little girl in me loves the bag charms (especially since it wasn't a trend when I was a little girl, rats) but as a grownup I wouldn't carry a bag weighed down with keychains and tchotchkes.
Bag charms ,sorry not for me either 😂🙈
Not loving the bag charms either. I’m 45 and I feel like it’s a trend geared toward younger women.
Agree with you, socks with ballet flats and mary-jane not my cup of tea!
Maybe one bag charm might be cute or stylish, but putting on a bunch of them looks juvenile.
ONE bag charm, sure ... but anymore than that and it's shoulder pain city .. lol.
Yep 🤣
Right, bag charms equal 8 year old😊
Bag charms on my birken is laughable . I don’t like taking away from my bags .
I am with you in the bag charms it looks to junky
I was at a HS football game recently. The HS girls have embraced the bag charms as well as the cutsie socks and shoes. I am a great grandmother, i will pass on these trends. I do like Gingiberry pearls.
Exactly… cute on those HS girls! Not so much on us 😀❤️
I am going to be skipping the socks and the trinkets on the purse.
❤️❤️❤️
I don’t think those multiple bag charms look sophisticated, or even very adult. I would keep them to a minimum, maybe one to three at most, and use only high-quality ones. Stuffed animal and plastic ones just look cheap. For years I had a hand-beaded strawberry charm on my bag that got lots of compliments. My Mom and I each bought a charm together from the artisan, she got a cute beaded frog one. It’s one of my many happy shopping with Mom memories, she died two years ago and I miss her. Oh, how I hope you find it! So precious🌷
Bag charms are a cluttered look.
Hard pass on bag charms.
Charms on handbags looks very juvenile in my opinion.
Not a fan of the bag charms. Ok for teens or young adults imo
Slouchy bags are total ick. They exude "potato sack", imo. I'll take a structured bag any day over a slouchy bag.
bag charms are juvenile. hard no for me.
I lived in Japan and grown adult office women would have these cutesy pie tipping onto the silly charm spectrum attached to their bags. So for Us! No Please leave them attached to your toddlers teething spoon
Socks with tennis shoes, boots or loafers 👍. Other shoes are a NO🤢.
Agree!
lol agreed! ❤️
Bag charms, the new sock trend is for elementary. Not a fan!
❤️❤️❤️
I think if you're in grammar school, high school, college, maybe even in your 30's bag charms make sense, but as you get older...are they really even meant for you? I don't know. I think it's a personal decision, but probably one that makes less sense the more mature you are....
Totally agree ❤️❤️
I hate the bag charms. It makes the bag look cheap.
Charm= cheap
No barrel pants with loafers. I just think it’s very unfeminine looking. Maybe another great look for a college girl.
Bag charms are for teenagers and kids!
I do not like the bag charms.
These bags are just too big for me. I don’t carry around that much to justify them.
Charms on bags look very childish or at least very young....
