Great explanation of both roles. I started as a jr business systems analyst (title) dealing more with business process and user interfaces. I’ve now done a few roles involving a more back-end systems focus on more technical aspects such as integration and data modelling.
Gina Monte Bachelors in Computing to begin with, but once I started the junior BA role I did a Masters in applied project management. Are you interested in pursuing the BA path?
Thank you, your video was very helpful. Which do you think has a more bright career path with more career progression resulting into IT, project managers etc.?
Hi, thank you for the video. I have bachelors degree in Computer Science and I recently graduated with a Master's degree in IT. However, even though I know coding, I do not have a hands-on work experience. And at this point, should I still go with BA as you said if you non-coder you should go with BA? Is it easy to jump into SA positions after a couple years? Which path I should choose ? I really need your advice. Thank you!
I need help to understand a few things : So the system analyst needs to have knowledge of computer programming knowledge? what are the system analyst skills need?
All you need to be aware of difference between Business Analyst and System Analyst: ("Business System Analyst" may play a dual role if required) Good Luck!
So basically all the roles/ jobs/ job titles are collapsing and merging with each other, and will be changing every 5 -10 years. So where does Analytics / Infomatics fit in all this?. Very confusing. And if you're getting into a Business Analyst role, you better upload on your social interaction skills. courses like "dealing with difficult people" etc, Negation, customer service, You will need them. So much back stabbing and unprofessional behaviors in workplaces these days, from the managers to co-workers
Analytics or Informatics is all about Lots of data, little information and less knowledge, it is different subject, you cannot compare with Business Analysis. And what you said is absolutely right... BA need interaction skills & so, will come up with related videos very soon. Thanks for advice.
Hi Sir My Name Is Irfan Currently I'm pursuing 1st year MBA I want to become a business analyst could you suggest me please which subject have good knowledge for a business analyst, in second year which specialization can i choose it'll be helpful for become a BA, in my college have only 3 specializations is there Finance, Marketing, HR I hope you will be reply Thank You Sir 🙏
I have done bachelors of commerce and now If I pursue MBA with specialization in business analyst then can I get job in ICT business analyst ? And is there any difference between business analyst and ICT business analyst ?
BA jobs always available as long as you have problem-solving skills and capable of transforming Business Rules to Business Requirments and/or System Requirments. ICT (Information Communications Technology) is nothing more than a category to apply for a VISA to few countries. Good Luck!
Sir which field should Someone choose between BUSINESS ANALYST or SEO ANALYST ? If he/she have equal opportunity of salary (fresher level) & interest. Must reply , really need your guidance.
Well my friend, BA and SA are two different platforms. To be honest I do know about SEO Analyst, but do not know the career growth though. Hopefully it should be good as long as people relay on Search Engines. Business Analyst career has good growth, as long we cooperate companies need an expertise who can understand their project requirements. If you are interested to work with Business and Technical team then choose BA. Good Luck!
1st cut at that quality hats off man what kinda camera n lense combo you have I am the business analyst guru I also have a channel n only slowly improved quality still to reach your visual output though
+myprojectanalysis Hello sir, I'm not at all good at programming, however my specialization is management information systems and i love to explore and learn about the latest trends in technology and businesses. So what are possible career options available for me??. Is it system analyst or else, by the way i'm a fresher. So kindly let me know...... Thanks :)
Both these roles are not for freshers. Sorry if I mistaken you as a fresher. With years of experience from the Business side i.e. Business Knowledge one progresses to a BA role, similarly from years of experience from the IT (Technical) side one progresses to a SA role. For a BA he needs to have the domain (Business functional knowledge), while the SA needs to have IT software, Hardware and other related systems knowledge. You will not find a Junior SA role, but quite possible you might find a requirement for a Junior BA, so its a good start.
To certain extend...but not 100% BA course is all about Process, Procedures & Methodologies Part of the course may help you to understand how to coordinate the project team. FYI... 1. Project Coordinator is not required for every project. Incase if they do exists their role is to coordinate between the team. 2. Project Coordinator is required, if implementation team is offshore or Client is away from the implementation team. 2a. Project coordinator helps to fill the communication gap between the Client and the implementation partners. They try to avoid any conflicts between them, by conducting various meetings, walkthroughs etc... Major role of a BA role is to follow Process, Procedures & Methodologies to gather requirements and to communicate across the project team to share the requirements between the teammates. Hope this helps!
HI sir. I just want your guidance. Currently i am customer support engineer (Control instrumentation engineering) with 6 years experience. Now i want to boost my job role to BA. Can instrumentation customer support engineer become a BA? Please suggest what i have to do to become a BA considering my current role. Do i have to do any certification or without it i can be BA?

I worked in various departments like loans, branches, head office. can I apply for business analyst jobs. what certifications shall I do, so that i can get a good job? please do reply sir.
Yes, your banking knowledge will help you to step into the BA world. Aim for CBAP certification, but start with CCBA certificate. For more information on certifications refer to the following link. iiba.org/Certification/certificationlevels.aspx Good Luck!
Hi there, Very helpful video. Thank you so much. Just a quick question, I am about to get Bachelors degree in ICT Management. I am not very technical person however, I am good in communication, explaining things and in sales. So do you reckon that I will be able to become a successful business analyst? Thanks Sam
Do not think you cannot make it!!! BA is all about Process and Procedures, Technical responsibilities are very minimum. So you can make it. All you need to know is how to run the Bus with number of folks! :) Hope my website: www.businessanalysttrainingonline.com gives you more confidence Thank you & Good Luck!
@@myprojectanalysis the pace was just fine. Not too slow, but exactly how I would want an in-person instructor to instruct. You gave time to digest the previous thought before inserting the next one.
Sir i have completed civil engineering. But i am more interested in being a business analyst and work in banglore. Current i have started to learn SQL and excel from scratch. Should i continue doing it or is it not possible for me to get this job as i have a totally different profile ? Please do answer sir. It would really really helpful to me.
First thing... In today's world, I don't think education background is connected to your jobs, so dont worry about it. Next, you have done a good start by learning SQL/Excel go forward. If BA is technically strong you will be outstanding, companies they do prefer these kinds of profiles. Good Luck!
Hi, do you have an email address ? I have a few questions for you re the diference between a Business Analyst and a Busiiness Systems Analyst. I your video here are you referring to a Business Systems Analyst ?
myprojectanalysis Kindly clarify the difference between a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) and a Business Analyst, IT. How much IT knowledge do you need for a BSA role ?
In simple words: BA is responsible to support Business Folks (Clients) by capturing the their Business Requirements (BR). BSA is responsible to support coders/developers, considering BR as source of information and building Technical Requirements by participating in systems design, Minimum Technical knowledge is required for BSA (SQL and supporting Coding Environments) But in today's world... as you long as you are BA or SA or BSA, it is good to have SQL knowledge Good Luck!
myprojectanalysis thank you very much for your very clear distinction between the two role BSA & BA. What about an IT BA, how much technical knowledge is required there ? your response will be greatly valued as I am trying to evaluate various training programs for IT BAs
You may come across very few positions for IT BA. And I believe it is also referred as System Analyst or Technical BA which come under one umbrella. SA or TBA required minimum Technical knowledge. Communicating with the technical teams for designing the system architect or production implementation will be your primary agenda. You should able to understand technical compatibly or issues they come across. You may need convince Business folks on behalf of Technical team. Good Luck!

Thank you, your video was very helpful. Which do you think has a more bright career path with more career progression resulting into IT, project managers etc.?
If you are non-coder, I prefer to move forward with BA or PM or so... However, IT has more scope.

Is Solutions Analyst same as System Analyst / Business Analyst?

Slow and steady wins the race 😀 . Just kidding. Will try to improve myself
