  • This session seeks to examine the research, initiatives and advocacy wins across the Birth to 12th grade system that build and strengthen policy infrastructures for equitable funding. This panel will explore state and local models of equitable funding frameworks, and what is needed to ensure these efforts deepen equity and are grounded in community voices. Panelists will discuss innovative strategies and approaches to design funding structures and leverage existing funding streams to direct resources to children and students of highest need, even in times of economic uncertainty.
Thank you to our facilitator Jonathan Kaplan, Senior Policy Fellow at the California Budget & Policy Center for moderating this conversation. And to our panelists (from left to right), Maeva Marc, Vice-President at Kidango, Miguel Dominguez, Director of Development at Community Coalition, Carlise King, Executive Director of the Early Childhood Data Collaborative at Child Trends, and Angelica Jongco, Deputy Managing Attorney with Public Advocates.
