This technique is great. I've been avoiding finishing a Fiat G.50 because of the spotted camouflage I needed to finish it. I ordered the materials, and using a .7mm tip I got the job done and it looks great. I never would have believed it would be so easy. I used Vallejo model air paint, thinned by 25% Vallejo thinner and it went on flawlessly. I let it dry and came back one more time with a second pass at the color. This was a trial run for a Savoia-Marchetti SM.81I've been working on and has sat on my bench four months waiting for me to figure out how to paint on some spots. Thank you again for the great and detailed video.
Just when you think you know all there is about painting....here is this video proving you wrong! Thank you thank you! Trying this method (I bet) will give years of enjoyment (and headaches). You Sir are a diamond.
How much study of these camo schemes did you invest in before you tried to paint such a scheme. If only they had these paint pens when I was a younger modeler!
such a great idea! I didn't know about these markers, they look beyond helpful! I presume every marker must be dedicated to just one color, right? Or are they washable?
Federico Fiore yeah, one of the lessons I learned about these pens (which will be covered in part 2) is that it is better to use one pen per color...you’ll see why in the next video....it is tragic...😉😊...but at the end of the day the pen is "washable" or re-usable.
OMG! Thank you for putting the Amazon link for these pens!
You're welcome!

You're most welcome, makes me feel warm and fuzzy when this helps someone!
Wow! Where has this product been in my modeling building life?!
Thanks Gordon. I'm going to try it.
Thanks Rick! I hope you have fun doing it!

LOL thanks. Yes it is a bit hit and miss when you try it the first time. It is all about the mixing ratio's.
Unbelievable!!!! Great!!!!! ❤🙋♂️🏅
Excellent!!! Great!
Thanks for this video.
You're most welcome Christian.

Muy buen producto !! Pero como es la limpieza de este tipo de lapiz?? como se realiza? Gracias espero su respuesta
Thanks for your comment Tomas. If you watch the second video you'll see why I don't really recommend cleaning the pen and re-using with another color.
@@KeetoModelWorks Thanks for your reply!! So this pen is one use only?
@@tomasperezluis4606 no, but I only use one pen for one color...I learned my lesson.
This is great to get excellent camo at Italians planes motted thanks for the tips so cool !!!!!

@@KeetoModelWorks that's what I thought... :D looking forward for video 2!
My Meng ME 410 will thank you!
Gary Armstrong if it helps one model builder then I’m happy. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Sir hi, this is a very helpful video, but can you tell me where I can buy this PEN. Thanks
I found them on Amazon. The links are in the description of the video.
How do you store the paint filled pens? On their side, right side up, upside down?
And do you think this technique would work with MRP?
Just watched your build on the A-37 Dragonfly, no need to respond
@@raz562 thanks for watching either way.
Wondering; have you tried this on a canopy?
Great video
I have and it does not work to great unfortunately....masking is still the best way to go IMHO.
@@KeetoModelWorks thanks, I was hoping to avoid my least favourite part of model building!
It didn't help at all where did you get a pen that shoots out white ? Thanks for explaining that which you didn't
I can't place your accent. Where do you hail from?
I am a South African that has lived in several other countries so my accent has "morphed" a little... :-)
That was great! Thank you.
Is this one-use? Or can it be cleaned after? Especially the tip?
(You sound a little like Nigh Shift :) )
No problem! They can be reused, but if you watch episode 2 you'll see why I do not recommend it anymore...
Cannot miss the South African accent!
Lekker nê!
Hi, ja. Dis so goed om dit op UA-cam te hoor tussen al die Amerikaners en Engelse!
