His style is just awsome, had the pleasure of watching him in the MK2 Escort where he was just completely at home. If every rally driver drove like him them surely the world of rallying would be a more exciting place. RIP Colin

He was The rally driver! No doubt! But he had a little bad habbit. Colin never ever accept the 2nd position.Juha Kankkunen always knew, when he had lost the battle and he took a safety finish on most of the rallies and he won 4 champion titles. McRae, never could slow down! But he is the rally, he will be the rally forever. His style, his caracter, his unbelievable confident, fast and spectacular driving never will forgotten! i agree but how about Henri Toivonen, Hannu Mikkola , Tommi Mäkinen and Ari Vatanen? i think all these are AT LEAST as good as colin mcrae! i respect all those, nowadays the cars are same and setups are same, so boring... no RWD cars?!?!? fuck yea...
I finally found it haha. It was Cyprus 2002, the rally before Argentina. Found the Argentina highlights and they mentioned it at the beginning, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction :D Also found a video where Nicky Grist talks about that race and calls it "Colin's Mad Max Day" haha

No doubt he was balls out, but were witnessing somethig extraordinary in the pace of loeb, no better driver has ever walked the earth, senna, mcrae, gronholm, vateenan, schumacher, burns all world champions. No denying they had titanium balls, but Loeb is god, while colin was the son of god

We have ex skijumper Matti Nykänen and he has a book full of slogans, but he couldn´t speak english very well. @CPeperak Thank you so much for telling me the nyances of that slogan.I understood the idea, but not correctly.I saw a Impreza (nickname Scooby) here in Finland and there was a slogan on a rearwindow and Colin´s autograph. That reminded 555 devil, when he was world champion. He didn´t hesitate at all if co-driver was out of map for a while. He just kept pushing like berserk even to unknown tight corner. Sometimes he smashed, another time won a second.I belive flat was nailed on the floor,right?

We have plenty Rally Superstars in Finland but after seeing Colin here and on videos, he IS a truely Superstar ever as well. Great person too. He drove like maniac and was always tough competitor to win. We also had a nickname for him "KilinKolin"- expression of sound of broken glass. It was very rare to see complete windscreen, wings or bonnet.

The man was a monster behind the wheel, gained a gigantic following, had a hugely popular brand built upon his name, yet remained humble and continued to develop his skills. In Colin McRae we lost so much more than a rally driver. A tangible piece of human inspiration died that day. RIP.
