De Zetor Forterra 135 combi trike van loonbedrijf J.M.H. Deelen uit Bergen op Zoom in actie, aan het gras groenbemester zaaien in Rucphen. De trike is ontworpen en gebouwd door GML Machinebouw uit Haarlo speciaal voor het zaaien in de vollegrondsgroente en conserventeelt.

Well, no-one has given the actual answer yet, but perhaps it is because that's being too obvious. So, at the risk of being that, I will say that with this trike formation the tractor's weight is spread right across the width and the single wheeling as far less damaging to the soil, while a second following wheel really does compact the soil, as happens with conventional tractors. By spreading the weight right over the whole working width, it can be used as part of the soil preperation, as a roll. When used with a 3 metre cultivation/seeding unit, all the field gets a uniform treatment and tight lines are eliminated. The tractor itself can be kept small and with the front wheels further forward, no additional weights are required to balance the unit for when the cultivator/drill combo is lifted, meaning overall weight can be kept down. All aimed at minimizing compaction.
