This is a great build I think that hidden entrance is my favorite part. Really gives the feel like it was the original dock before the rest of the island was settled. It reminds of the secret place from Kingdom Hearts.
I’m so blown away by these vids I’ve been watching of different builds, meanwhile my base looks equivalent to a shoe box haha. Super creative and well built, congrats! 😍
absolutely beautiful build, love the concept and your creativity in bringing it to life with all the little details, especially the little water gates you made

"I guess you could say I like to build things in Valheim." Now there's an understatement! But I'm with you :D I think the whole building option is THE reason I like Valheim 😅 I really like the completely pointless feature! It's not pointless, it's to keep the drinks in the barrels cool 😆 I really like the details of the roof! You have again made an awesome build! Thanks for giving us the insights into how you made it!
It felt like a magical adventure when I was floating around it in a boat exploring and also when I was making it, so I tried to put that into the video editing. Thanks Xenn

İ saw that you did these beautiful design house and island. And i questioned myself: i and you! We play same game!! İmpossible! I am totally intalented!!! Nice job bro really nice job!!!
First video I’ve ever seen of yours! Love it! Tbh, I think the little imperfections give it personality. I dunno, I saw some comments saying how it’s not the best or whatever like you have to put out the perfect island build. I think you did a fabulous job! Gorgeous build!

Another amazing one! Love the editing style. I wonder if Jere thought of the ghost mode feature being helpful in editing or not; but this is one awesome implementation of it. Props for doing that. A steal worth idea if i had 2 systems XD lolol
Very well done. It always amazes me the level of detail you go into - especially with your wall/window designs. Do you have any videos going over how you make some of those styles??
@@9byte if you have the time I'd love to show you some of my builds and maybe pick your brain on ways I might be able to enhance my builds. No worries either way 🤙
Awesome ideas here, I've actually started an island base before seeing this so i have a jumping off point to the nearby bonemass and future bases. There is also a cool plains archipelago between two continents I'm going to claim at some point. Feeling a bit lost with my little island though, it's got one of those black forest towers which I'm trying to work into it but it's very ugly right now, maybe I'll start with the walls and some terraforming like you did.
Dark forest islands are pretty and usually have beautiful sights. But i cannot refuse a good plain island if i find one, anything from the soothing music to the farming opportunities and once they are cleared of any potential spawn point they usually become the best places to build. My most recent save has one which is close to a 30+ crypt swamp so you can imagine the insane value it has.
@@forcedge2302 Plain old campfires, in fact even non lit campfires will prevent spawn in a radius since they are classified as player builing. And as a bonus they are the only player buildings that don't get attacked by the already spawned mobs so that's a bonus.
7:18 It looks so cool though, its one of my favorite parts. And it looks like there was already a bridge there. You could have connected the bay with the water to the gate, under the bridge and it wouldn't be "pointless" anymore. In game, it would be pointless but it could be like a storm surge overflow relief. On a stormy windy day with lots of waves pushing into the bay, could be nice to have the excess water be able to drain out what is the part of the base best protected from the ocean waves.
If I remember correctly, there is a mod called 'Wind at Your Back' that makes it so the wind is always behind your sails. This would make it a lot easier to do boat tours of your builds in the future. xD
Island builds are incredibly safe. I found an island far out at sea between two contenents that was hill. I flattened the hill to about the height of a ships mast the steepened the sides of the hill. Cut a stairway to the water and built a dock. With the stone I collected from flattening thr hilltop I built a stone wall a paved the top. Bult portals and brought in the mats I needed to tricked out the rest of the base with stations, storage etc. Metal was hauled in of course. Was fast to build. Never been attacked and is now my main base from which I explore to set up portal stations all over the map.
You keep mentioning the "pointless" bits, but honestly it's those little details that separate a good build from a great one. The quirks really bring the place to life, great work :D
I mean, adding in little details to give a build some character is cool. But, I wouldn't call them pointless. If some part of the build is truly pointless, get rid of it. Every piece should have a point.
I love the aesthetic of this right now - but I also HATE building anywhere near the coast because the tide gets crazy during storms and the water jumps up 6-8 meters and makes it look like my base is flooding. I know it doesn't "actually" matter. But it bothers me when I'm playing.
@@Hidden_Sage Same! It’s frustrating when I’m sitting in my house that’s 6 meters above “typical” sea level and all of a sudden a wave flashes up through my whole build and temporarily douses my fires

When the game first released I made my first "base" unknowingly close to the Black Forest and was promptly gangbanged by trolls on the first night. I started doing island bases immediately after. It's the best way to build. I like building with the land though, I prefer to terraform as little as possible.
Nice build. One Q I have with all the fantastic builds I see: what do you do about the weather deterioration of the wood? I can’t imagine trying to keep up repairing everything.
Those are the kind of builds I have in my head, but what I end up building are just square houses....man how can some people be this talented at building stuff in games....
Most builders go into dev mode. You can go hardcore but it’s going to quadruple build time unless you have friends helping on material gathering. Also always lay the foundation first for the whole layout. Don’t be afraid to tear whole sections down if it doesn’t look right or appealing to you either.
