USPTO Published Rolex Patents: Rolex GMT Red/Black Coke is Coming! Pepsi Issue Solved by New Tech

- USPTO released several patents from Rolex this month, among which two are about the ceramic bezel in GMT models. Let's understand the patents and see where the product line is going.

Some folks mentioned that corporate usually submit far more than necessary patent applications to protect their space of operations. However, I checked the history of Rolex patents and Rolex does not have record of abusing patent applications.
Seems anniversary of GMT master has been now shifted to 1955-2025, probably next year we’ll see a major change
I’m thinking about that too. But this year, Rolex Maison is already all about GMT. Would probably feel weird if Rolex choose GMT as the major model in two consecutive years.
I hope the ceramic pepsi is discontinued. It's a horrible pink and purple bezel, that really shouldn't have been released

@@olsonan The first versions of the ceramic were horrible, they were purple and pink. They've tried to improve upon this every year but they still look $hit imho. True pepsi colours are the old pre ceramics.
@@olsonan I agree my MK3 Pepsi bezel is a 2023 model . The Bezel is definitely dark blue, and a deep red.
Rolex will not discontinue the Pepsi, but may make a 70th Anniversary model with a new Pepsi .
Reason I say this is because the original 6542 was a Pepsi Bakelite bezel .
So we may see either a white dial with a Pepsi bezel or a new Platinum Rolex 70th Anniversary with a white dial and Green 24 hour hand .
From what I heard from my source , Rolex is releasing a new Joe monta edition of the GMT. Crazyness

The MSRP will be in the same range with other stainless steel GMT models. in the secondary market, probably close to the Pepsi if not discontinued.
Ceramic is obsolete.
A sapphire ring window fitted over a stainless/gold/platinum/aluminium bezel is the future.
If you love shattered bezels, sapphire is your answer.
That’s the solution from Blancpain on their Fifty Fathoms. I have several videos about Fifty Fathoms models and they look and feel pretty good.
@@BarakudaTime Fifty Fathoms is a great watch. But the bezel does have a pretty sizable metal rim around it. the sapphire "bezel" is more like an insert to me.
True, but the ceramic bezel of Rolex GMT, Sub and new Daytona all have metal rims. Both ceramic and sapphire could be hit by sharp point and crack.
