This truck does have a locking tailgate. If you have it closed and lock it with the key fob you can hear it lock. Also I'm not sure if this truck comes with the max trailering package because in the video there isn't the factory trailer brake controller making this truck a 6 speed which gets 16city/22hwy. Towing capacity us still 9100lbs with the 3.42 front diff and rear end you get with the z71 package.
no "push button start ".... that's fine by me , I don't really trust technology , the push button will eventually break so to me they did ok to leave it like that Practical and I bet less expensive that a fancy surcutry why fix something that is not broken??
I came up with Chevy and gm, and in my personal opinion ford may have all the nice tech features and stuff but when it comes down to it I think Chevy is just a good solid truck period. Ford took it to the next level which is good to innovate but I'm glad chevy keeps it the same, some changes are good but ford is always making something new or different and chevy keeps it simple and quality which I love, I just prefer Chevy or gm when it comes down to the basics of a truck.
I really like the Silverado. However, with three Sons that like to go camping with us all the time I have to look else where since the Silverado does not offer a rear middle head protection. Maybe in 2018?
Your explanation and videos are perfect. This is my fourth video today, you have a new subscriber. I just hope you review the Raptor as Im interested in the new model. I trust your input so it would be helpful if you did.
What package comes with heated steering wheel? I'm looking at some of my local dealership websites, none of their Chevy's have 'heated steering wheel' listed.
I'm seeing in these comments that people are complaint about no smart key or engine start button, honestly I think most people that buy this truck don't give af about that shit, like, who tf cares? Besides they aren't exactly outdated, they have Bose audio systems (pretty much the best of the best), seat heating and seat AC, Bluetooth connection so you don't need a shitty aux cord, a touch screen center console (which includes shit like weather forecast) , a built in gps, a wifi hotspot, and other things I'm probably forgetting. Plus you won't look like a puss-pop driving one like you would in a F-150 lol (take it easy ford fanboys it's a joke)
Honest question for everyone and anyone to answer. If you can buy this Silverado z71 ltz or a dodge 2500 power wagon 6.4 liter V8 OR Toyota Tundra trd pro, which do you buy and why.
This message is for all those persons who are thinking in buying a z71 chevy silverado 2015 to 2018, 8 speed transmission; 2 gear is making such a big hammering noise when it engage from 1st to 2nd, now I know 4 friends with ecxactly the same problem, took to the dealer and they say it's normal, be careful if you're going to drive test a new one do it when is cold you will not immediately, push the gas slow until you engage the 2nd gear, a big number of z71 new ones and used ones are having this problem and GMC don't want to take care of his shirt problems, I still waiting on a lawyer to call me to take care of it, such a pain in the ass.
the design has grown on me, but the GMC version is much better looking, plus you get magnetic ride, real bushed aluminium, french stitched seats, more sound dampening, real leather dash, real wood, ect. for not that much more.
K.C.'s RC that weird brown color has grown on me, im not sure why ahaha. it seems to fit with the chrome mesh grill, black of course always looks nice too.
K.C.'s RC that blue is nice, we got a few 16 Silverados in that deep blue in my shop before i left my driver / detailing job. it sure does look good, (same color that the GMC gets) im just not a blue car guy ahaha, i really liked the orange though, that color is just sexy (its a shame the GMC does not get it)
K.C.'s RC i 100% agree, they need to have a more unique interior design, they dont even need to radically change the materials that much just move some materials upscale like they do now and then give the center dash, gauges, and doors their own design. push button is nice, but i will admit i kind of like the idea of a key in a truck more. dont get me wrong the push buttons in the Yukons were fantastic but its a different driving experience. im sure they will give their pick ups push button in the up coming refresh or their next model.
My 2017 drives like shit. It pops and clunks in the rear end and constantly battles itself going in and out of v8 v4 mode I haven't even put 10k miles on it and I'm looking for something else
get this man its 200 bucks and it completely disable the active fuel management so you run on all 8 cylinders as a v8 should. my buddy got this loves his silverado now. He has a 2015 and put the afm disable on like a month after no problems. rangetechnology.com/afm-disabler/
Hey I don't thin is the v4 v8 activation, transmission is a piece of shit 2nd gear is not engaging properly and all the other gears are not very precise,I got the same problem and dealer says it's normal, BS.
My 2013 Silverado 5.3 4x4 80k miles had the following problems. The traction control/stabilitrac light came on. The steering wheel was hard to turn and was leaking power steering from the power steering pump. I changed the pump and the steering wheel got soft and worked, but power steering kept on leaking. There was also a noise coming from the center of the drivers side wheel hub. Finally the starter was going out and had to be changed for a second time. The fan engine noise was loud as hell ever since I bought that truck, the dealer said it was normal. My solution to all this was an easy one. I traded it for a 2017 Tundra 🤗.
Stop making trucks with square wheel wells, tires are round in case you haven't figured it out yet GM. Also, worse mpg in 8 speed than the old 6 speed is a HUGE red flag!
@@jakerogers8272you actually can get the 5.3 with the 8 speed. And the reason is gets bad MPG is because this one has the 3.42 axel rear end so it’s set up to pull/tow
There will be a recall on these trucks. The capless filler system is a joke. Water pools around the area where the nozzle goes in for refilling. How convenient that this water WILL enter the tank. It doesn't matter if you've washed the truck or if it got there by the rain and driving, you will always carry with you a rag to dry the capless area before filling. The other stupid item on this truck is the front fender wells, carpet (sound proofing) material keeps dirt, how long will that last?
I have considered the current gen Silverado 1500 4x4 until i saw the key and keyfob. Really Chevy? I test-drove a 2017 1500 LT 4x4 V8 doublecab, and came to be disappointed to see it comes with a key and fob separately. My uncle and I co-own a new 2016 Ford F-150 4x4 V8 8.1' doublecab. It's a flip keyfob, all-in-1. It was $40,550 out the door. Silverado was asking for $39k.
must not be a gm fan. Actually the ford ecoboost gets about the same mileage if not worse than the 5.3L the engines constantly being worked by the turbochargers unlike the 5.3L. The alumimum body isnt as durable as the chevy 1500 and is only 100 or 200 lbs lighter than the chevy when its steel lol. Chevy just goes with what works and what sells, sometimes u dont need change , instead refinement
I wish that GM would make them more affordable so that more people could afford it. 40 - 50 thousand dollars is ridiculous, that's a house payment . How about lowering the price so that the working man could afford it
This, my dad bought a LT Z71 (they didnt have LTZ back then, it was the same thing) in 2002 and it was 25k off the lot. His same exact truck is now 55-60k. It's ridiculous. All they did was add an iPad in the dash and now they claim it's worth an extra 30k. Oh and now the LT doesn't come with leather, it comes with cotton, you have to get the LTZ for that. Fucking scam

Nick Stoll some parts. Not all. Besides not everything is made in the US when it comes to “American” cars. I know bummer, but it is slowly changing to have more domestic parts made here and assembly as well.
Nice truck, but those taillights are terrible. The Japanese Toyota Tundra is made in Texas, and is more American than that "Hecho En Mexico" Silverado so it seems.
It's not a literal question. I live in Detroit, and I don't care where a vehicle is made. My viewpoint is simple, someone somewhere is getting a job putting a vehicle together. I love it that it is at Jhon L Sullivan Chevrolet!!!
