I know it's a very very small thing but I like they added more wepons to the roster and being able to fire iron sights for the rifles makes them feel like entirely new wepons.
yeah , even if i didn't have played it yet, i think we'il just going to have a rather quick look to the Merchant's rooster, it's cool to see again the weapons we all knew & loved back in the OG RE4, but for that remake, Capcom should put a little more of varieties, if they put many new knives, why not some new guns? it's oner wasted potential. plus putting a new P226 pistol and a new Winchester shotgun in a more expensive version is just dumb , they should already be in the basis game. Why it's not yet universally forbidden in '23? i think a grenade laucher would be really nice , like an HK69 , a Pallad, or a GM94 or China Lake. a Double barrel shotgun would fits well to the game rural setting too. A Spanish Star SMG woul be a nice surprise. once more Capcom never pushed its possibilities so far to the fullest, it's just frustrating.
I played on PC but with controller and man the irons were rough. Especially on the CQBR and the M1903. I bet on M&KB it's a lot better but still enemies are fast as shit and close distance in not time. Having to line up shots that carefully really doesn't work for me. But I agree I'm glad they added stuff. One thing RE4 always had going for it was its weapon variety.. even if everyone uses the same shit lol
Idk man I feel like they fucked the aiming up. The fact that I have to spend spinels to get a laser sight for my pistol and it’s the only gun so far with a laser is some of the dumbest shit capcom has ever pulled. The iron sights are ass btw.
Small detail that I just noticed- by the time Leon and Ashley get to the island, you can visibly see here on Leon’s forearms how rapidly the Plaga has grown. Super creepy.
What I like mostly for me, is the fact if you reload the FN (the punisher) and go into photo mode to see the bullets get put in the chamber they are literally 5.7x28 rounds. I thought that was pretty cool.
it's not the first time in RE series that the bullets turn thelmselves into different ammo when loaded into the guns they're used, same thing for the 380 bullets we can use in the MP5 in the RE2 remake, which supposedly turn into 9mm or 223 which become 30.06 into the Springfiled rifle etc, as well thanks to gameplay magic
I like how Leon is cocking the cylinder of the striker every time he reload it, and also the upgrade for shotguns instead of speed up the reload animation, he just shove multiple shells at once.

A neat little detail I noticed when playing the game is that all handguns have their slide stops animated when you run out of ammunition which is a pretty neat detail they added considering the only way I found out was when I was messing around with the Photo Mode.
@D.N.M No it didn't. Sure the slide would lock back in the original game but the actual slide stop didn't move. In fact I'm pretty sure most of the handguns didn't have the slide stop modelled on them except for when you inspect the higher-quality inventory models.
I like the m4 in real life and in games but I don't like the first person aiming in the game why they couldn't have just kept the third person view when aiming it would have been way better and the gun unfortunately is kind of useless because it uses the same ammo as sniper rifle which is really rare in the game
Shame they didn't bring the PRL412 back, for people who are new, the PRL stands for Plaga Removal Laser-412 it was made by Luis in his attempt to weaponize the machine that removed Leon and Ashley's Plaga, the weapon works just as the same way as the machine did, firing a special type of UV radiated light to destroy the Plaga directly but unlike the machine it is way more violent and in greater density, effectively killing the Plaga and everything it infects inside the body without causing physical damage, but like I said, since the weapon kills everything the Plaga infects anyone who has been far gone to be saved will immediately die
Me too. Especially the Wii version with the multilock beam that can hit multiple people. Also, the PRL has to be charged up. Uncharged shots stuns people like the flashbang
Technically, the weapon and along with the Ada Separate Ways campaign were never part of the original GameCube release of RE4. Both were created when the game was ported over to the PS2. With that being said, it most likely will appear in the Ada DLC. If not, then we riot. lol
Pretty sure white phosphorus is a war crime. Also, fire grenades might still be in the mercenaries. After all, in Village's merc mode you could use a few things you can't during the main story.

The level of minute details in this game are insane. Leon actually visually loading each round into the revolvers alone is fuckin mind blowing. RE4Remake is my fav game of all time for this and 100 other reasons

@@calanon534 the silver ghost is in the game, it’s the starting pistol. it’s just renamed to the SG-09, the grips are different and has the kendo name carved into the slide. SG-09 = (Silver Ghost - 9mm)
The original design of the broken Butterfly had the front half of the revolver based off the Schofield MK3, the back half is based off an older Colt revolver which was what the gun was Originally going to be so they combined them in the classic Frankenstein gun we all know and love. I think Capcom just bit the bullet and and embraced the schofield as the Broken Butterfly

Sad to see that the awesome reload animations didn’t make a return for the remake, and I still don’t understand is if they implemented stealth in the game why not add the supresor to the silver ghost?
Seeing how the Matilda was made into something you can buy during a regular playthrough, I thought they were going to do the same to the Chicago Typewriter to give more variety to the SMG category, and then have an unlimited Chicago Typewriter as a bonus weapon.
Got the Red9 w/ Stock fully upgraded and it's gotta be my favorite pistol. I'll be trying (and maxing out) the other pistols in my next couple playthroughs too so I'm not missing out on anything else I might like.
Some small errors i spotted in RE4 Remake weapon's: 1: There's no empty reload animation for the "Matilda" 2: In the tatical reload animation for the Red 9, the bolt automatically holds open for some reason 3: The Red 9 holds 8 rounds instead of 10 4: the Broken Butterfly in this game uses the Smith & Wesson Schofield as the model for the gun and as far as i know the Schofield doesn't chamber any kind of magnum cartridge 5: The MP5 lacks both the front and the rear sights 6: The MP5 mag holds 20 rounds instead of 30 7: The M1A1 thompson has a diferent pistol grip and stock compare to the original and the rear sight is too far back 8: Leon charges the thompson bolt even though the bolt is already back 9: The thompson stick mag somehow holds 50 rounds instead of 30 10: When Leon pull the bolt back in the springfield M1903 he somehow bend the bolt downwards 11: The M1903 has a different rear sight compare to original 12: The Benelli M3 somehow holds 10 rounds in a 5 round tube 13: The RPG-7 is single use (Gameplay purposes)
The M3 originally comes with 7 rounds in the game. He probably upgraded some of these weapons. Kinda hoping the Thompson is the same way since I don't have that one yet.
Many of these are just gameplay mechanics rather than mistakes,mostly weapon designs (to avoid copyright sometimes) and ammo capacity (self explanatory). Besides that: In the original RE4, the "magnum" ammo was actually 45 acp, which is not technically magnum (the real one is 50 cal or something). It could be a mistake carried from the original, but it could also be the intention (in both games) to easily tell you they're the "powerful" guns of the game
Mp5 needs a better more energetic slap. Ar needs a bolt release reload. Pistols need a slide stop reload. Red9 needs a more energetic clip pull. The pump shotty and lever need a plus 1 animation. The schofield needs a better aim sweet jesus the spread on that thing
Not gonna lie I legitimately thought they were going to add more weapons like Samurai Edge and such, but I sm happy they did include a few new ones like the LE 5
So far they added LE5, CQB M4 and added 2 DLC weapons like Leon’s P226 from the CGI film (where they go full John Wick) and Jill’s lever action shotgun from the original RE3, so they could add more with the DLC coming to the game

It's crazy but even despite the stats I prefer using the SG-09 R more than any other pistol just because it both looks cooler than all the other ones and is canonically custom-made for Leon and I can't imagine him wanting to get rid of it.

Older guns kinda made sense though as the village was meant to be a place forgotten to time which is why most of the guns besides the ones brought in by the Merchant were from the 70's or older.

Nah, RE5 is a fun game to play with friends, but that’s it, nothing too outstanding about it. Capcom really need to remake Veronica. But I so fuccing tired of remaking remaking remaking. We need more new story about these classic characters, I want to know more about Ada, I want to see Leon’s apple juice addiction, etc.
Please make an option if you want to aim with rifles(especially the cqbr) in regular third person view. The transitition to first person is just weird for me and I think I'm not alone.
I stuck with the starter pistol, Springfield, and the Remington and maxed them out, so I didn’t buy the other guns. Gonna have to say, kinda disappointed with the broken butterfly reload
Since they are adding guns from previous titles, why not add more? Deagle from RE2 is sooooo satisfying to use, and grenade launchers are welcomed too. Edit: More guns means more fun and more playthru. I don’t mind they are locked behind challenges even paid dlcs( as long as price isn’t joking)

Of all the God Tier weapons in Re4 (2005) The "Handcannon" gave me the utmost satisfaction given the grind it was back then to unlock this weapon. Hands down the P.R.L 412 is the most powerful weapon but it misses that thrust that handcannon has and that what makes me feel its power
Does the Matilda ONLY burst fire when the stock is on or can you still just tap the fire button to shoot once? I know you can just take the stock on and off whenever but that would be annoying if I had to do that instead of simply tapping the button for single fire
No you can shoot it semi-auto as well with the stock. I had the same concern and so I didn't bother getting it, but saw a streamer using it with the stock and he was shooting 1 bullet at a time often.

the iron sight only available on rifle category, since you need to see through the scope. However in this game mechanic you dont actually need a scope to fire the rifle category, that why you can see it in first person, but cant do the same to other weapon

yes, it's just too slow for normal enemies or even hordes of enemies ... but as it is the most powerful normal pistol, it works wonders on bosses! the Blacktail is and remains the best all-round pistol!
All well and good but...why the heck they had to put 20 rounds in the M4's 30 round magazine and 50 in the Thompson 30 round magazine? The cqbr rifle is covering a marksman role , so they could have a model that resembles the M110 and the typewriter... well the original had the tommygun box magazine, they could do the same (unless there's upgrades that change the look)
Why do game designers keep forgetting that pistols have a slide release? When maxing out the reload speed on a pistol, Leon will use that instead. That would have been so useful.

RE5 had that too in 2009. RE4R is made by the same director, so maybe he has an eye for detail.

I love the sounds of the guns in this game, they’re so detailed!! Even the sounds of the bullets FATANNNNG’ off of a barrel, I love it.
Winding key on the striker is a nice touch
You can see Leon put a 10 Round Clip in the Red9, but the Counter shows 8 Rounds in the Gun. Nevertheless a very nice Remake. Need to play it.
Got the Red9 w/ Stock fully upgraded and it's gotta be my favorite pistol. I'll be trying (and maxing out) the other pistols in my next couple playthroughs too so I'm not missing out on anything else I might like.
I am impressed by the sparks and lighting made by the bullets.
Some small errors i spotted in RE4 Remake weapon's:
1: There's no empty reload animation for the "Matilda"
2: In the tatical reload animation for the Red 9, the bolt automatically holds open for some reason
3: The Red 9 holds 8 rounds instead of 10
4: the Broken Butterfly in this game uses the Smith & Wesson Schofield as the model for the gun and as far as i know the Schofield doesn't chamber any kind of magnum cartridge
5: The MP5 lacks both the front and the rear sights
6: The MP5 mag holds 20 rounds instead of 30
7: The M1A1 thompson has a diferent pistol grip and stock compare to the original and the rear sight is too far back
8: Leon charges the thompson bolt even though the bolt is already back
9: The thompson stick mag somehow holds 50 rounds instead of 30
10: When Leon pull the bolt back in the springfield M1903 he somehow bend the bolt downwards
11: The M1903 has a different rear sight compare to original
12: The Benelli M3 somehow holds 10 rounds in a 5 round tube
13: The RPG-7 is single use (Gameplay purposes)
The RPG-7 is always been one-use, even in the original
And also in the original, you can buy the infinite launcher if you are rich enough.
The M3 originally comes with 7 rounds in the game. He probably upgraded some of these weapons. Kinda hoping the Thompson is the same way since I don't have that one yet.
Many of these are just gameplay mechanics rather than mistakes,mostly weapon designs (to avoid copyright sometimes) and ammo capacity (self explanatory).
Besides that: In the original RE4, the "magnum" ammo was actually 45 acp, which is not technically magnum (the real one is 50 cal or something). It could be a mistake carried from the original, but it could also be the intention (in both games) to easily tell you they're the "powerful" guns of the game

Mp5 needs a better more energetic slap.
Ar needs a bolt release reload.
Pistols need a slide stop reload.
Red9 needs a more energetic clip pull.
The pump shotty and lever need a plus 1 animation.
The schofield needs a better aim sweet jesus the spread on that thing
Not gonna lie I legitimately thought they were going to add more weapons like Samurai Edge and such, but I sm happy they did include a few new ones like the LE 5
So far they added LE5, CQB M4 and added 2 DLC weapons like Leon’s P226 from the CGI film (where they go full John Wick) and Jill’s lever action shotgun from the original RE3, so they could add more with the DLC coming to the game

It's crazy but even despite the stats I prefer using the SG-09 R more than any other pistol just because it both looks cooler than all the other ones and is canonically custom-made for Leon and I can't imagine him wanting to get rid of it.

@@ESKATEUK they made Ashley into a not annoying great character, Luis is given more screen time, the gameplay is streamlined, it’s the best looking RE engine game(in my opinion), it’s really a must play for anyone that hasn’t played a RE or any horror game before

I like how the Killer7 looks more definitively like an AMT Hardballer, the original model of a Colt 1911 from WWI looked super out of place with the big, primitive laser sight on it.
Well, I always feel that German WWI Mauser handgun (Red9) is completely out of place. Why did they ever bother adding such weapon in the OG game in the first place? I have no idea.
@@Deaclavilis Being as the game takes place in Europe in a village/castle area, I could see it making sense. You also find it on a shipwreck. It's just a stashed away antique gun.
Older guns kinda made sense though as the village was meant to be a place forgotten to time which is why most of the guns besides the ones brought in by the Merchant were from the 70's or older.

Nah, RE5 is a fun game to play with friends, but that’s it, nothing too outstanding about it. Capcom really need to remake Veronica. But I so fuccing tired of remaking remaking remaking. We need more new story about these classic characters, I want to know more about Ada, I want to see Leon’s apple juice addiction, etc.

Of all the God Tier weapons in Re4 (2005) The "Handcannon" gave me the utmost satisfaction given the grind it was back then to unlock this weapon.
Hands down the P.R.L 412 is the most powerful weapon but it misses that thrust that handcannon has and that what makes me feel its power

Does the Matilda ONLY burst fire when the stock is on or can you still just tap the fire button to shoot once? I know you can just take the stock on and off whenever but that would be annoying if I had to do that instead of simply tapping the button for single fire
No you can shoot it semi-auto as well with the stock. I had the same concern and so I didn't bother getting it, but saw a streamer using it with the stock and he was shooting 1 bullet at a time often.

Weird how some have iron sights and others don’t
the iron sight only available on rifle category, since you need to see through the scope. However in this game mechanic you dont actually need a scope to fire the rifle category, that why you can see it in first person, but cant do the same to other weapon

yes, it's just too slow for normal enemies or even hordes of enemies ... but as it is the most powerful normal pistol, it works wonders on bosses! the Blacktail is and remains the best all-round pistol!

All well and good but...why the heck they had to put 20 rounds in the M4's 30 round magazine and 50 in the Thompson 30 round magazine?
The cqbr rifle is covering a marksman role , so they could have a model that resembles the M110 and the typewriter... well the original had the tommygun box magazine, they could do the same (unless there's upgrades that change the look)

Typewritter is there it shows when you have the mafia costume on and the PRL is probably gonna be a reward for the free mercenaries update

Why do game designers keep forgetting that pistols have a slide release? When maxing out the reload speed on a pistol, Leon will use that instead. That would have been so useful.
