So many weapons in this game look like they like they saw a photo of the weapons once and modeled them after what they remember. The Mp34 with the magazine at the bottom and the scorpion with the mag in the grip are really bizarre
i never understood why they put in their turn the weird frankengun route after the last Resident evil, Metal gear and Call of games , normally there's no way an angry gun manufacturer would tell game devs to change the designs of their guns for copyright reasons, as long they simply change the names , everything would be alright, unless Naught dog is in California
The MP34 seems to have been done in the interest of reusing animations (except they seemingly aren't for some reason), and the mag-in-grip scorpion for pistol holster compatibility EDIT: Now that I think about it it's probably so that the side magazine doesn't interfere with the slung position
kinda late to the party but you gotta remember that back in 2016, this was the first, true video game to potray two-point gun slings well and realistically. Long gone were the days of "just sticking the gun to the characters back as if they had magnets", evolution of fidelity in graphics allowed them to incorporate slings into the guns. It is quite sloppy a bit, as you pointed out the rifles and all have sling part at the wrong places, i personally had the sling glitch on my back lol, only the main character in the game actually uses the sling properly and holsters the long gun on the back (as opposed to enemy NPC's that just put the gun on the back while the sling is still clipping though the enemy's body and the belt isn't even around the model [which if looked at uncharted 4 dev footage might be a leftover from prototypes, plus after RDR2 fixed this issue NaughtyDog also did with TLOU2], or friendlies that don't use long guns at all and just stick to pistols and melee) and the physics can be sometimes wonky. But overall, it is honest work and an incredible first attempt of a detail like this in a video game. Ever since Ucharted 4, over the past 8 years, more games have released that do guns slings well, if that satisfies you.
Thats one cursed gunnery system. They don't tell how many bullets you have in mag, but how many you have left. Its like in Doom, but you still need to realoud. And bullet icons on LMG doesn't count as one bullet, but few of them. Also scopes doesn't show what you see, but center of the screen gets just bigger. It looks like your buddy is looking through the actual scope how you are shooting.
A lot of the sounds in Uncharted 4 feel muted and less powerful than in Uncharteds 2 and 3. It seemed like they went forwards in graphics, but they went backwards in sound design.
Idk how gun licensing works much but I'm really surprised that they kept AK-47, ARX-160, FAL, RPG-7, and M14's actual names. TPS games like these usually have fake/generic names for all the weapons like Resident Evil or The Last Of Us.
Why can't Naughty Dog make another franchise like Uncharted? Such great games, the action, the adventure, the characters, the locales, and especially the music, Holy God, the music!! Though it's a shame Greg Edmonson didn't return to score Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy.
@@tranvinhnhat1289 I would love to see them dip their toes into making a First-Person-Shooter, kind of like Resistance or even Medal of Honor. If they could make an FPS like Allied Assault and Frontline, they could easily knock it out of the ball park, and hopefully resurrect the WWII FPS sub-genre that put Call of Duty WWII and Medal of Honor Above and Beyond to complete and utter shame, wishing that they were never conceived to begin with.
Fun fact: the soviet guns have their actual names because of the rules of communism. Mikhail Kalashnikov should have been one of the richest firearms designers of all time but didn't make real money until much later in his life. I believe it was from selling candles.
I hate that they just butchered the ak47 reload animation, and now the magazine doesn't fly out. Really surprised when I saw that on pc and thought "damn is uncharted 4 actually that old that they couldn't do stuff like that and people didn't notice" But it turns out its just broken in the new version.
