It's crazy how appliances have these diagnostic tools built it. I rode along with a tech on a dishwasher call and he entered in a sequence of buttons like it was nothing. I appreciate you showing this.
I miss the old Maytag solid state brick I had in the 90’s. Just a big rotary switch cam that turned in a circle. Simple, reliable and it didnt play a song at the end of the cycle, just a buzz noise that scared you half to death.😂
Hey Derrick!! Honestly, you are TeRRiFiC!!! So glad you're back on the outside and on the right track! Your vid.'s are SO AWESOME and SO ARE YOU!! Freedom, Bro, Freedom.
Whirlpool is definitely my favorite manufacturer to work on. Having access to all of their diagnostic guides for each of their brands made repairs much more simple.
Thank you for your videos! I've learned so much from you, I mean, "never use softener "and "clean your dryer once a year", alone, will save me money and myself from a potential fire. You are making a difference! :)
When I moved my Mom to an assisted living apartment 5 years after my dad passed away I realized the top loading washer she had was the one they bought in the mid 1980s. My dad was a maniac about preventative maintenance.
I admire and applaud the fact that you don't care what any of the other guys think if they get mad at you or whatever thank you for helping out the common man who has not a fortune to be able to spend on things
That'd explain my failure rate replacing that capacitor. Other styles of that topload washer had a cap in them that was a bit undersized, so I desolder and resolder them. It works about half the time.
thank you for being an honest technician. due to the way my mom was taking advantage of by car mechanics, I have a hard time trusting any sort of Hands-On repair things, and I'm a computer repair person. we do it too, big time
Just subscribed! Dude, I chunked mine after replacing a capacitor that another tech said that was the problem. After a month trying to figure out wtf was wrong with the washer I decided buy a new one. Thanks for your guidance!

Your AWESOME I've been ripped off, just recently, with 2 cars. I'm 63 and I just had 2 cars, now I have none. A company in Jeffersonville Indiana called, Wheels and DEALS sold me a Hyundai Enterouge for 2500. I had it for 14 miles and the entire front axle broke apart. They would do nothing to help. I was blind, when my son got the car and he told the owners please, don't sell my mom a lemon. This is all she has and he needed it to get me around. The salesman said oh your getting such a great deal. He was a LIAR. Then my apt. put a tow tag on my other car which, was legal, registered because, I didn't move it for a couple of weeks. It needed an alternator. The original one went bad. It's great to know someone doesent rip people off.
I love your videos. I’ve been fixing all kinds of things my entire life and once you understand that they don’t want things fixed you just have to be a little more patient and become an expert with a volt meter and you can fix just about anything there is.
As a service technician I’ve ran into this a few times. Only once did cleaning the connections actually fix the issue. The board had to be replaced in the others. The issues is the steam from the hot water finds it’s way inside the control cover. Corroding the connections on the board.
You're awesome! 💕 The technicians that get mad are because they want to continue scamming customers, so they don't want them knowing about this. I'm glad you're an honest Technician!!
I had this happen and this does work.. I surprised my son by cleaning the exposed piece with alcohol wipes.. that was like a yr ago.. still going strong!
We still have our washer and dryer from over 30 years ago. The only thing I had to replace, was the drum belt on the dryer. And that was over 10 years ago.
I actually worked for whirlpool/hotpoint as an engineer and agree that their system is bollox it’s a scam all of it is what you’re doing is the right thing helping people and saving them money hats off to you x
I did the same repair but the control was dead but green light on board was blinking, I used alcohol but happened again. So I ordered this electrical cleaner. it's been working for 2 years 👍🏻
My mechanic invited me to watch my brake shoes get replaced. They're drum brake and I've always been afraid to mess with them. My mechanic made it look so simple
Your honesty a freaking boss thank you so much man I am a technician my self and that’s a tip to have under my belt I also sell appliances keep up your channel ❤️
I will keep repairing my 1994 speed queen set that my grand parents gave me when I bought my first house. Things a a tank and hardly ever brakes. The last thing that broke was the motor belt. A new after market belt was 30$ and hasn't give me any problems since.
Ive had moisture buildup on those solder joints too, and also on my lid lock took it apart cleaned the copper and bent the tabs a bit too make better contact. A smack on the lid every once in a while helps too
I have that exact washer ! No problems so far except the smell sometimes , wifey uses a lot of softener ! Thanks for the good info my man , I'll use that one !
I bought this same washer from one of those 2nd hand appliances stores. Their policy was absolutely no refunds. A week into owning this thing it threw this error. They refused to refund me, instead deciding to fix it. First they replaced the motor, and some other bottom end stuff. Then they ended up replacing the board... The invoice for the parts they threw on was double the price I paid for this thing. 😅 It's been going strong for the last few years now.
Bro, the help you provide has saved us literally thousands of dollars. Udaman and I'd like to donate a few bucks to help keep you sharing w the rest of us!

Did you ever think he would see the day where the check engine light is on on your washing machine
This is good one 😳😂
Money light is on lol
That hilarious!!!!
It is almost as if they have become more complex. Yes, it does require more base knowledge but the fixes are likely the same without changing much.
Technically a washing machine has a motor like your Tesla

ive had to do this to my cabrio. its a huge design oversight, as most washers and dryers cover the board in silicone or something similar.

once clean in that spot, spray on a conformal coating. Silicone works as well.

If that's not the bare face of planned obsolescence right there, I don't know what is...
Maybe? Could just be a design flaw that wasn't noticed during the initial run of machines. Hard to fix once it's out in the wild
@@ericl6460 most of the time it's intentional
This time it's an exposed board at the top of the washer that corodes with condesation. This isn't planned obselecence, just bad design.
