It is July 2023 when I am eriting this and all I can say is thank you for saving me so much money and time. I e been wrestling with this f5 error for the past year and finally was brave enough to take the dive of fixing this problem. I cant believe its this tiny 5 cent piece. Now this thing works like a champ. For those of you who are intemidated, try not do be. It honestly took me 1/2 hour or less to go step by step. Even faster to reassemble.
I can’t thank you enough! My washer was just 2.5 yrs old when this part failed. The self diagnostic test pointed to the lock and I couldn’t believe the price for this very cheaply made part from the company (I estimate the material cost at $5). Really, given the moisture and incredibly cheap materials I don’t understand why they would do something like this. I wouldn’t have tried to repair the part myself using my auto ignition coil grease without you having blazed this trail here. It’s been two months since I did this and it’s worked flawlessly since. Thank you again, not just for saving me some money but it just feels so good to do something that most people wouldn’t attempt.
@@bkhavityoway23 It was about $180 for the part. I called Maytag and they quoted me $300 for the repair. That included the wiring harness. There we’re cheaper alternatives on eBay and Amazon but I was not sure they could be made to work. Since I did the cleaning, it has gotten stuck 1 or 2 times. I just move the lock in and out 30 or 40 times and it works fine again.
My 10 pm repair worked perfect !!!! Never good when the wife says the washer is broken. I googled the code being thrown, found your video. I didn’t use the grease. I didn’t have any. Put I did remove the contacts, scraped gently with a micro screw driver and cleaned with electronic spray cleaner. I put everything in back together and success!!! Thank you!!!! I did order a new one on Amazon as a back up. Other video’s just show replacing the defective unit. I loved that yours had, how to repair the defective part.
Excellent video. Superb video. Our washer suddenly threw the E3 F5 code. I thought, oh boy, new washer. The instructions were spot on and step by step. I used a bit of CRC Contact Cleaner and Protectorant, then applied dielectric grease. Reassembled. And the washer worked perfectly. What an incredible resource and saving us from repairs and replacement!
Dude, this worked perfectly! Saved me probably $300. Bulb grease cost me a whopping $1.79! First time I tried it I was too gentle bending the metal contact tabs down. Did it again and moved them one at a time, (checked the movement of the first against the unbent second tab, then did the second to match the first) total movement about 1 mm. Worked like a charm. Thanks for sharing this SO SO much!
The contact on the circuit board was fairly dirty, but you don't realize it until it was cleaned with contact cleaner, it got bright, I put dielectric grease on, put it back together, and it worked, did it just now, 8 years on, and this video is still saving people lots of money, and a techs, gas, vehicle wear and tear, etc.
Thank you so much for making this video! I have a Kenmore Elite HE 700 series washer. The repairman has been to my house literally 6 times trying to fix the lid lock. He never repaired what was wrong. All he did was change out parts. The washer would work for a few weeks then I would have the same problem again. Last night it happened again! Mind you I have a service contract but each time I call for a repair I have to pay a fee of $100.00. To keep the service contract I have to pay $69.99 per month. I could have purchased a new washer for what I have spent on this crap! I followed your instructions and repaired the lid switch, not change out a part! Now my washer is working correctly. Needless to say I am canceling the service contract! Again, thank you so much for the video!
One of the most useful DIY videos I’ve ever found. I love the idea of FIX, DON’T REPLACE. Great instructions, I appreciate all the little extra tips. Thank you!
Mark, Thank you for this outstanding repair video. My wife and I used it to repair our whirlpool cabrio and it worked perfectly. You save us $hundreds. Outstanding work!
I followed your instructions and it works 👍🏻👍🏻. Your video was posted 6 years ago and still people benefit from it. Thank you buddy and GOD blessed you
Thank you very much!! My wife was looking into service companies and then decided to look on UA-cam to see if anyone else were having similar problems and came across this one. Now being a former appliance installer the taking apart and putting together cans easy but the parts where smaller fingers were needed she handled. Had it done and put back together in less than 10 minutes. And it works!! Thank you for explaining it in so much detai!!
Mark, you are the man! We run a lodging business and were getting so frustrated dealing with this on the washer. Watched your video, did the same thing you did, and boom, back to running great. Thank you!
Thanks so much Mark. This worked like a charm in 30m minutes and cost $1.50 for the grease. The detail you provided was essential to make it happen, particularly the trick of using the T15 to hold open the clip (brilliant!!).Saved me an expense and a very long wait for a Whirlpool repair. I will look for more of your DIY repairs and recommend to all willing to give repairs a try.
★★★★★ Thank you! Easy to follow, to the point, detailed, and you saved me $$$ by not paying for new parts. Did the repair in like 8 mins. I'm listening to the wash go right now. Thank you so much!
My washer had the F5 E3 code flashing. I went and bought the whole mechanism and changed it. Washer is working great. Thank you so much. I was not looking forward to waiting for a repairman.
Thank you for an excellent video that help me fix our washer and make my lovely wife happy. Your video was well done and allowed me to fix our washer in 30 minutes. I can’t tell you how much this helped our family in these troubling times.
A giant leap for a man and a grateful wife. This well-produced video helps immensely in keeping things properly oriented during disassembly and reassembly. I actually spent more time going to the auto parts store to secure the dielectric grease and shooting the breeze with the counterman than doing the job. A pleasant afternoon!
General rule, I don't fix anything that plugs into electricity. But, I couldn't wait days for a repair man. So, thank you. I Found this video, watched it twice, assembled the equipment needed, and Voila! I fixed my washer! Awesome video and thank you for posting it.
This was fantastic!! My husband is out of town for two weeks, so I decided to give it a go myself. I got it working! One of the contacts was actually bent back. Thank you SO much for this video!!
Used vinegar to clean out gunk on top of tub area and around lock latch part, then used blow dryer to clear out/ dry area, worked! So glad I didn’t have to take it all apart!
THANK YOU!!! Let me say i have absolutely no experience with tools, electronics, or fixing things. I followed your clear, detailed, easy to follow instructions and i fixed my machine without a hitch! You are a lifesaver!!
I was about to go out and buy bulb grease. The last DIY remedy we tried was using a hairdryer to remove any moisture from the sensor that might be interfering with the circuit. It worked! Fingers crossed it keeps working...
That could have just been a fluke repair of yours, (hopefully not) as the grease provides a lubrication and protectant against corrosion. It seems to be a very important step in this repair process. I see you commented a year ago, so I must ask, how has the washer been working since?
I just want to say thank you, Mark! This video saved a new washer purchase. I'm hanging onto this one until we can move and really didnt want to replace at this moment. You covered the process great and got my washer running. THIS is what UA-cam is meant for. Cheers 🍻
What a great video. Our Whirlpool Cabrio quit working, and we were on deadline to get some laundry done. Might have taken weeks to wait on a service call appointment, would have taken days to get a replacement switch. I had no idea how the Cabrio came apart. You made it easy to fix the washer in about 30 minutes, no parts needed other than a packet of bulb grease (which now cost $1.69 a packet at the local auto parts store), and I had the right tools lined up before I started. Many thanks for your thorough and insightful video. I did skip the step of removing and bending the little contact prongs, but it seems it was unnecessary. Thank you again.
May 2019...just followed your instructions and it worked perfectly. Circuit board had some corrosion, but the washer started right up after I cleaned it with a toothbrush. I broke some parts of the lock case, but it still snapped back together. Thank you for doing this.
$1.50 in grease vs. a new lock mechanism ($42 on Amazon) vs. a new washer ($500) ….. amazing!!!! Fixed on the second disassemble (added more grease and bent the ‘fingers’ a little farther on the second rep) and works like a charm!!!! 🥳🥳🥳
You are the man sir! Did exactly as you instructed and now the problem is fixed. Thank you very much for posting this video and saving me hundreds on a repairman.
Another satisfied customer! Our washer was showing the error, which is a true emergency with two kids 2 and under at home. 25 minutes and a trip to Autozone later (I dropped a screw behind the washer, which added time), we’re back up and running! You are a god!
Worked great. Simple to disassemble and 'repair'. Thanks for the video, 6 years later, it's still helping me keep this old machine out of the landfill. :) Thanks sir.
Thank you very much for this video and fix! After some water leaked out the top when we had the washer on it's front while replacing the broken water pump (DR error), we started having the E3 F5 errors on our Whirlpool Cabrio Washer. I was thinking the water may have shorted out the lid lock mechanism somehow, and then found this video. As others have stated, it took a couple of tries (and we did use the bulb grease both times), but it finally worked after also using a hair dryer to dry out the sensor and lid lock control board. Thanks again for the great video and detailed instructions, as well as to those who commented and added their own specific details (like using the hair dryer)!
Thank you so very much fixed my washer in 10 minutes. It was just build up gunk that was preventing the metal prongs to connect with the circuit board cleaned with 100% alcohol and qtips and some bulb grease for good measure. Worked perfect. I had pretty good connection so I did not removed the metal prongs to bend I know I would have broke or lost them. Thank you again
Thank you for this video. I followed the instructions and it seemed to fix my washer. However, a few hours later it happened again. Luckily I found a replacement part on Amazon for $30. I was able to replace the sensor assembly without much trouble. So far that's working fine.
Mr. Petereit, Thank you for a wonderful and instructive video! You saved us ~350-400 dollars easily! One comment for anyone else with a similar locking problem. This fix didn't initially cure the F5 error on our machine. We had to turn the power on and pull the locking mechanism into the 'locked' position, then turn the machine on with the lid open. this had to be done delicately, because we hadn't fully re-assembled the top portion back to the base of the machine. This allowed the machine to appropriately 'reset' itself and know that the locking was working correctly again. Once that was done, it appears to be functioning fine!
Was able to remove the lock from lid without taking entire thing off. But sure enough that little metal piece was needing a cleaning and rearranging. Thank you for this video!
Thanks so much for this video!! Washer is coding with this code, I have 5 kids and a husband, we need it to work!! Your video worked wonders! I don't have the grease on hand to use, but I went ahead and did everything else. Worked great for 3 loads .. Now it is coding again.. Gonna run and get some grease tomorrow and fix it for real! Thanks so much!! Huge help for my family!!
Thank you much for posting this! $2.00 (for the grease) repair. Maytag wanted $150 for the part. Calling someone to diagnosis it would have cost even more.
Its unbelievable how much they charge for you for sending out a repair person (for whenever the nearest one can get around to it) or they will parcel you over a few replacement parts, that'll come next week (usually something you could go get yourself today at a much lower price.) I'm no cheapo, I understand the repair person has a job to do & deserves the hard earned money, no problem. But if these machines were built with proper strong parts & done right, they would last forever (if you take proper care, obviously) right?! Did you notice the cheap plastic parts inside & all?! LoL What I'm about to say is 100% true - My Nan & Pop-Pop still have the same ol' refrigerator & freezer, the same ol' washer & dryer, & also my Pop has a classic 1930's jeep that ALL STILL RUN LIKE CHARMS (they obviously took care of all of it & did tuneups & clean-outs over the years) As Pop says "they don't make 'em like they used to." Ain't that the truth?! For real!
Not sure if the maker of this video still checks comments but if you do - THANK YOU!!! My Mom's washer displayed this code 3 days ago. She's elderly and lives on a fixed income. No money for a new one or home service call. I Googled the error code and watched this video. Went out to AutoZone, got the dielectric grease, brought over my screwdriver set and had it repaired in about an hour!
Thank you! I followed your instructions after my repairman had to wait for the part. I did the steps twice. After it didn't work the first time, I opened it all back up and cleaned the circuit board a little more aggressively. Worked like a charm! Thank you.
Awesome! My fix for the last few months was to sit on the lid (most have been pushing down on the contacts some how) before it tried and while it was trying to lock the lid. And then today, that did not work anymore. I wish I had looked on UA-cam when it first started happening! Thank you!!!
Shot out to this solution! I did manage to break one side of the double clip, but the casing snapped back together nicely, so I went with it. We had been dealing with the F5 E3 code for over a year but got by with power cycling the machine to get it to work, and sometimes we let it sit overnight unplugged, and in the morning it worked! Thanks again....I highly recommend this solution.
Absolutely perfect video. Right to the point and exactly what was wrong with my washer. I was able to fix it and it works perfectly. Thank you so much for doing this video. It saved me a lot of money and headaches.
I just want to thank you for the very specific fix. This was EXACTLY what fixed my problem. I even have a Bravos XL washer and this still fixed it. I didn't add the dielectric grease however, but I will get around to it. Problem solved in like 10 minutes. Thank you again!
thanks for this video, lid was little challenging to get off but the wiggle method worked as a charm. had to wipe and clean those contacts. had some corrosion build up. followed the rest of your instructions and low and behold. zero errors. Thanks!!!
Thanks for making this video. I am an avid DIYer and hate having to replace parts or appliances due to poor parts quality. This video saved my bacon and my Cabrio Washer. Great video and instructions worked like a charm.
THANK YOU MARK.... Kenmore Top-Load washer has the identical lid lock mechanism. I just followed your step by step instructions & the E3 F5 problem is solved. My situation was a little different leading up to the error codes. Had to replace the pump after it started a cycle & had water in the tub. When I tipped the washer over to work on the pump , the mechanism must have got water in it & caused the already worn fingers to not make contact. After putting the dielectric grease in & bending the fingers down a little, no more error. Thanks again!!
Your directions in this video made fixing the lid lock on the washing machine so easy. I tackled it in 30 minutes. Ok my son did. Thank you so much for sharing.
I * totally * didn't expect that to work. But it did! What I love is that you explained it well (of course) but you identified the various screw sizes as you went along. Was so easy to get the right size. Anyone in Canada needing dielectric grease, you can get it at Canadian tire. Thanks Mark Petereit, that was great. Saved the day.
This video is a life saver! Thanks to your wonderful instructions my husband fixed our washer with ease and for free! Thank you for taking the time to help others!
Thank you so much. I successfully made this repair only to run one load then it started again. I did the process again, only this time, I wiped the excess dielectric grease away. So far so good. Thanks again!
I’m so grateful and thankful that you took so much care and provided this extremely helpful information…I did it myself with your support and top tier advice 👏🏽.
Thank you for this video. I finally have a long term fix. For those of you that have to run that laundry that is already in there. Let it turn off to reset and then when you hit run I sat on the lid and that apparently provided enough force for the contacts to read.
Great instructions but didn't work. Bravo xl mct has same switch. I can hear it clicking several times and then shuts off. I used to slam the lid to get it to work. Now I raise it 1/2" or so till the lock light comes back and then drop the lid. No, nothing else bent or out of place. I wonder if there's a magnet in the switch. The end of the lock has been broken so I can start it this way. Wouldn't have messed around with it so many if not for these instructions
Your washer still working? I just fixed mine also curious if the fix last Can't get the part for at least 8 weeks that's what whirlpool said I've checked everywhere
@@David_DY @David Yoho A day or two later I heard the error again and I was frustrated but it only happened once and has been fine since. Make sure to clean the piece the way he shows in the video (I think) to ensure the contacts are clean. I was so concerned about the fragility of the parts that I rushed this step to get it all back together. Without this video I never would have attempted to remove that small piece. I am glad I did the repair.
Great video! I was having to put a slight downward pressure on the lid to get the washer to engage the lock at start up. Thanks for the fix, now it just works like it’s supposed to!
Thank you so very much for your detailed, slow, instructions!!! It was very easy to follow you and understand you, as you took the time to show us exactly, and explained everything! If a person can understand how something works or happens, they're likely to "get it " light bulb above the head and all🤩. Thanks again! I hope you have more videos. I GIVE YOU AN A+
Thank you for this tutorial! After taking my washer apart and trying to bypass the broken switch, your video helped me see that there are pieces missing from the switch itself. I have a replacement coming and will definitely use your tips to get better use out of the new one.
Mine is doing the same. I think it's an alignment issue. I wiggled the thing and it just worked. If it does it again in the next load, I'll redo the screws and clean up stuff to make sure it all sits right.
Thank you so much! This worked wonderfully. Before watching your video I took the lid lock housing off of the machine and manually slid the lid lock in and out and checked to make sure that there was no lint or obvious corrosion or obstruction. Then I tried to see if the Lockwood engage after plugging the machine back in and it wouldn't even let me press any of the buttons on the screen. Eventually I watched your video and tried what you said but I did not have any of the Dielectric grease so I just bent the little tabs on the contact points and tried to test it before I screwed the component back to the machine and the screen still would not would not recognize me pressing it. So I wondered if maybe there's some sort of like safety component in there that if the lid lock isn't level and Plumb it won't turn on . So I thought I would just screw it back to the machine and try it and it did work! My guess is there's some sort of component inside the mechanism that if the machine is tipped over it won't allow you to access anything on the screen as a safety thing. Either way your video worked hopefully my comment will help save others some trouble and frustration!
I wish I could give an additional Like each year or two when I have to do this fix. I refer to this video each time for a quick and inexpensive repair. Thanks
Thank you for this video!!! I almost bought a $100 replacement part but decided to make one more youtube search and here it was. This fixed my problem, easy cheesy. Thanks again!
Mark I am a machine mechanic and I followed your directions on the E3 F5 error codes to repair. Even if I was not knowledgeable of repairing machines those where the easiest directions I have ever had for a repair. Anybody could follow them. OUTSTANDING JOB
This helped me so much! My washer is a year and a half old and I was so upset it would cost me a lot to fix it. I was so confused, because it works fine for the beginning of the cycle, but messes up on the spin cycle! Hopefully this will fix it for me!!
This fix helped me three months ago and again today. Thank you! Something I noticed today may help others. When I push down (lightly) on the center front edge of the lid, and press and hold down the start button, the lock is able to engage and the washer starts. Maybe this has something to do with allowing a magnetic field to get in the right proximity of the switch? Maybe until this fix or replacement gets enough power through the contacts until the sensor works?
Thank you for this video! I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio wtw8500dr0 set super cheap because it needed this repair, bought a China replacement component and it was defective right out of the gates. Luckily I still had the original Whirlpool component and I could see the contact arms fell off. I snatched the good ones off the new China switch, cleaned it up, tossed them on and it fixed it. Washer is working for teh first time as we speak and I appreciate your video as a reference.
You, sir, are a Godsend. Do you know how much money you just saved me?! Hundreds! I thought I was going to have to get a new washing machine. I spent about $2.15 on a tiny packet of bulb grease from the automotive store, followed your video step by step, and it worked perfectly! The trickiest part was disassembling the actual lock mechanism. Even with the T15 screw hack, it wouldn't come undone. I used a mini flathead to pry it open, rubbed away some of the corrosion, + bulb grease, and viola! On top of that, you have the same exact model that I have. I've seen a few videos on how to repair this error, but they all require replacing the entire system. I'm so grateful. Thank you for putting this easy to follow guide together. It was still cheaper than a replacement kit 🙏🏽🙌🏾😊👍🏾❤️
Thank you so much!! This just saved me from having to pay someone to fix our washer. I have no experience fixing anything but I was able to follow your instructions easily. So glad this worked!
so first of all thank you for the vid. i am trying this fix now. i will have to wait to get the grease so i will update this after i get the grease. the contact was so grody though no wonder it was not working not gonna bother putting it back together until i have it all done but again thank you!

You're welcome! Glad it worked for you.
This worked! The locking mechanism wouldn't engage properly. Your detailed instructions were easy to follow and saved me $$$ Thanks a million!!
$1.50 in grease vs. a new lock mechanism ($42 on Amazon) vs. a new washer ($500) ….. amazing!!!! Fixed on the second disassemble (added more grease and bent the ‘fingers’ a little farther on the second rep) and works like a charm!!!! 🥳🥳🥳
You replaced the lock mechanism? I did the steps in this video and still nothing.
Dude, you are a life saver, that was fast and super cheap. It worked on the first try. Thank you
Great tutorial! Back up and running in 20 minutes, didn't have to wait for a new part to ship, and saved $$$!!!!
Did the trick for me. Thanks for saving me $$ by not buying a replacement switch.
I lost my fix-it dad a few years ago to cancer, thank you for filling in with this. Worked perfect.
I want to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to take care of my washing machine without the added financial burden
We just did this on our washer, and it works perfectly! Your detailed instructions were so helpful. We cannot thank you enough! ❤
Wolfbear I have a couple questions about that error f5
Was able to remove the lock from lid without taking entire thing off. But sure enough that little metal piece was needing a cleaning and rearranging. Thank you for this video!
Thank you Mark! I'm a senior citizen living on a pension, don't have the money to pay the repair guys for everything. So glad I found your video!
Glad I could help! I know how frustrating it is to have a $1,000 machine sitting there useless while laundry piles up.
Will wd40 work in place of the grease?
Thank you much for posting this! $2.00 (for the grease) repair. Maytag wanted $150 for the part. Calling someone to diagnosis it would have cost even more.
Darn it. Thanks for sharing the info. I was heading to contact a repair man myself.
Its unbelievable how much they charge for you for sending out a repair person (for whenever the nearest one can get around to it) or they will parcel you over a few replacement parts, that'll come next week (usually something you could go get yourself today at a much lower price.)
I'm no cheapo, I understand the repair person has a job to do & deserves the hard earned money, no problem. But if these machines were built with proper strong parts & done right, they would last forever (if you take proper care, obviously) right?! Did you notice the cheap plastic parts inside & all?! LoL
What I'm about to say is 100% true - My Nan & Pop-Pop still have the same ol' refrigerator & freezer, the same ol' washer & dryer, & also my Pop has a classic 1930's jeep that ALL STILL RUN LIKE CHARMS (they obviously took care of all of it & did tuneups & clean-outs over the years) As Pop says "they don't make 'em like they used to." Ain't that the truth?!
Thank you.
Awesome!!
Awesome!!
Thanks this video helped me to fix my machine without spending hundreds of dollars. This repair video couldn’t be more accurate! Thanks so much !!
You saved me a bunch of time and money thankyou so much I appreciate you
Excellent tutorial. Repair took 20 minutes and worked like a charm. Thanks for saving me lots of money!!!
I just want to thank you for the very specific fix. This was EXACTLY what fixed my problem. I even have a Bravos XL washer and this still fixed it. I didn't add the dielectric grease however, but I will get around to it. Problem solved in like 10 minutes. Thank you again!
Home visiting parents and this issue came up. Fixed quickly with hand tools. Thanks
thanks for this video, lid was little challenging to get off but the wiggle method worked as a charm. had to wipe and clean those contacts. had some corrosion build up. followed the rest of your instructions and low and behold. zero errors. Thanks!!!
This is an amazing, easy to follow guide. Thank you so much! Times are tough and I didn't want to have to go buy another washer. THANK YOU!!!
Thanks for making this video. I am an avid DIYer and hate having to replace parts or appliances due to poor parts quality. This video saved my bacon and my Cabrio Washer. Great video and instructions worked like a charm.
Excellent video. Thank you. It took longer to watch your instructional video than it did to repair the washer. Thanks again.
Thank you for taking the time to help the next person. I'll try my best to pay it forward.
Awesome!! Glad I could help.
This video is a life saver! Thanks to your wonderful instructions my husband fixed our washer with ease and for free! Thank you for taking the time to help others!
Huge thanks for making this. Took 15 minutes and annoying chime is gone.
👀oh and I have a Maytag😊😅
@@tiffanieturnercaliforniabound NICE!! 🤣
Man this saved me from buying a new lock. Thank you very much. Very easy and quick fix.
Glad it helped
This is awesome!! Totally worked and saved me money!! My 13 year old son and I worked on this together! So happy to have come across this video!
Thanks to you and your how-to video, I was able to fix my washer. Thank you very much.
Awesome! I watched the video once, bought the grease, and banged out the repair. Thank you!!!
@@pjakaa3 I'm on my second wash so far so good The part is sold out everywhere Whirlpool said at least 8 weeks Hopefully the fix holds up for awhile 👊
Great video! I was having to put a slight downward pressure on the lid to get the washer to engage the lock at start up. Thanks for the fix, now it just works like it’s supposed to!
Same here!! This was such an easy fix that saved me having to buy new parts
That was super easy to fix. Thank you so much. I would have never attempted to fix this if it wasn't for this video. My wash works like a champ again.
This is one of the best tutorial I have seen
Thank you so very much for your detailed, slow, instructions!!! It was very easy to follow you and understand you, as you took the time to show us exactly, and explained everything! If a person can understand how something works or happens, they're likely to "get it " light bulb above the head and all🤩. Thanks again! I hope you have more videos.
I GIVE YOU AN A+
And I'm a GIRL
Thank you! That was very kind. I actually wish I had the time to create more videos.
Thank you for this tutorial! After taking my washer apart and trying to bypass the broken switch, your video helped me see that there are pieces missing from the switch itself. I have a replacement coming and will definitely use your tips to get better use out of the new one.
i took mine apart and its still doing that clicking
Thanks
You are awesome! Easy to follow instructions and it worked. Too bad that is such a cheaply designed sensor - whirlpool needs to do better.
Wow! From your perspective, that's high praise! Thanks!
How long did this repair last?
This helped me so much! My washer is a year and a half old and I was so upset it would cost me a lot to fix it. I was so confused, because it works fine for the beginning of the cycle, but messes up on the spin cycle! Hopefully this will fix it for me!!
Wow, it worked for me too. What a life saver, thanks Mark! $1.50 and 20 minutes well spent!
Thank you, this video was easy to follow, and after following all the steps, my washer is functioning again.
Excellent! Way to splice the new with the old!
Awesome!! Congratulations on the repair!
Thank you so much!! This just saved me from having to pay someone to fix our washer. I have no experience fixing anything but I was able to follow your instructions easily. So glad this worked!
Sweet! That's what this is all about.
so first of all thank you for the vid. i am trying this fix now. i will have to wait to get the grease so i will update this after i get the grease. the contact was so grody though no wonder it was not working not gonna bother putting it back together until i have it all done but again thank you!
You are my hero. Fixed mom's washer... after following your easy to understand guidance. 😁👍🏼
Thanks for this video. I have a Maytag that is huge and we can't even buy a comparable replacement these days. This fix just bought me some more time.
Thank you so much for this video. The repair worked like a charm for our 7-year Whirlpool Cabrio.
