Thank you so much, I've been a Metal Head forever, now my taste have changed, again thank you
I was looking for a lesson to learn the technique and all the other videos that I saw were from guys who just show up but nothing about a quality teaching like this video! Thank you so much!
Tony, I don’t have friends to play music together with. With me & my guitar alone, I find that finger (and of course Chicken) picking very worthwhile and enjoyable. I’ve just started, motivated by this short lesson. Now I can enjoy playing alone. Thanks so much bro.
Your exercise demos are among the best.
Thank you so
Much for the detailed
Help ! This helps
Me progress for
Years I’ve been stagnant . Just got myself a J-45 and I’m ready to practice and get better I absolutely love your channel!
Sounds fun! After Travis I'll try 🐔 picking! I'm not afraid of practicing... Thanks Tony for sharing!
Thank you for making this easy to understand and follow along. Not so afraid of trying to learn this style anymore!
Gentleman's teaching style.😀 Very natural I like Tony's style.!
I really enjoyed it and you’re a great instructor! So many videos seem to immediately try to channel Buck Owens or Vince Gill speed but the simpler pace was much better!
Great lesson Thanks Tony, always enjoy your tips!
Light bulb moments. I have always focused on flat picking but this may be a way to spice that up and add some snazzle to the old flatpicking sound. Super helpful Tony!
I only watched this yet I still feel like a better guitar player. Very terse and easily comprehendible video on a unique style, thank you sir!
Thank you, you are a great resource and a beacon of light for guitarists everywhere.
OK….. Thank you so much, this is the best video on this style. Much appreciated
Awesome! I'm watching this while at lunch at work and can't wait to get home to try this!
Nunca había escuchado de la técnica del chicken picking, pero después de ver este video estoy completamente ansioso por aprender a tocar este estilo, mil gracias Acoustic life!!
As usual, smack on target! I only wish that I had these instruction45 years ago! I have been attempting hybrid picking, on and off, for maybe 15 years. Players like Vince Gill or Brad Paisley have interested me for years. Here in Woodstock, Ill, people are starting to pick up on hybrid picking. They're finding it's not for everyone! Hybrid picking has a place in acoustic music like country or bluegrass. Unconsciously, over the years, I have dabbled with hybrid picking, occasionally tossing in my middle and ring fingers. I'm familiar with arpeggios, using all 3 fingers and a thumbpick. However, your breakdown of the process is enlightening! My goal, BTW, is to make my D-41 sound like a Telecaster with all the effects boxes out there. I'll find one!
PS I have a friend who plays exclusively with a thumb pick. He's a monster of styles, both electric and acoustic. I think he's forgotten as much as I have learned in 60 years! Also, are you from Chicago?
Thumb, first and middle works great too...same thing! for us finger players...
Good lesson, thanks 👍🎶
Great tip, Tony! I like the musicality that this technique adds to my signature sounds. It really does add more depth. Hope you guys are doing well.
best of Best class. thanks
Thank you for taking something I thought was still out of my grasp and just really making it click!!!
I love your channel! Super stoked that I found it. SUBSCRIBED

A lot of fun. Something to do after ALF. Thanks Tony
This is an incredible resource. Thank you!
Sounds like fun. Thanks, Tone
that 2nd exercise really sounded GREAT
The unison-string scale at about 2 minutes in actually reminds me of Blackbird by Paul McCartney.
Tony I really need to do this .. you,re a wonderful teacher..God bless you...
Dude thank you so much!
Thanks for the info/tips ... can't wait to give it try.
The craziest acoustic guitar chicken-picking I've ever heard is on the tune "Chicken Lickins' Last Ride" by Adrian Legg which was actually played on one of Adrian's highly modified Ovation acoustic-electrics, with ---- among other mods ---- Scruggs/Keith banjo tuners installed on it.
Thanks tony,
Crazy good
What are you fretting with your left hand?
This is really fun and easy when you practice. I will try to use it in my worship songs. TONY YOU'RE THE BEST. THANK YOU

Right On
I wanna know how Brent Hinds (Mastodon) does it.
Like a Savage..?
It's very important to always "pluck up" and pluck up often!
In Gratitude I Am - I’ve managed to pluck up most of my life! 🤩
Tony, is there a song in the Song Library (I'm a member) that works well with this?
I know they're controversial because they kinda seem like a guitar cult from their reviews and advertising, but I'd love to see you review a Zager ZAD900. I think they're awesome, but I don't have high end Martins and Taylors etc. sitting around for direct comparison.
damn I am hard to unteach what I thought I knew! 😜
Wow
Is it possible to advance to Turkey picking?
We usually Turkey pick the Day before Thanksgiving. 🐔
Try nose picking
@@balcomoz if I could pick my nose I would have picked a better one
I really believed that I will see a chicken picking on a guitar..

It’s hard for me to get it.
Should i lick my fingers
I came to this video expecting him to say you can grow a bread and long hair like but you don't have to but you can if you like.
Maybe you can clarify; I think you misspoke at 5:05. I believe you’re fretting on the D string, not the G, yes?
jvz773 yes, it’s the D string, not the G.
I saw a bird flying out from your bear. 😠 it is true!
i thought there are three guitars i the back
LOLZ
"Easy exercise"
Proceeds to teach a combined pick and finger plucking style.
I lost my pick into the sound hole and got my fingers combined into a solid piece of ginger root.
When you pick ring, make sure you wash your hands.
Just do more...
