When a stylist curls your hair it's because you asked to be styled. you should watch to see if they are having peices fall or the ends aren't even as it gets wrapped around the iron.
I went to a hairdresser for an a line bob and she cut my hair so that the front was reaching my cheekbones and the back was shoulder length. Then she curled it without asking me first and when I asked if this style is doable at home (it evened out the haircut a bit) she said NO 😭😭 I had my boyfriend fix it but fucking hell

Yes, the problem with it when it's curly (in my opinion) is that it looks like a haircut for a very elderly lady, or else a teenager in the 80s. She's a very pretty young girl, so an old-lady-in-the-nursing-home haircut/80s-teenager haircut is just not the vibe for her (in my opinion).
I'm not really a fan personally of the 70s haircuts, either, though. I agree, it totally does look like a 70s glam haircut, but, thing is, I personally don't really like that look much. I'm also not sure it's a good vibe for her. It feels like a haircut for a slightly older person, she's so very young. It just looks too old of a haircut for her.
But she sure has beautiful hair, and lots of it! So nice and thick.
This dummy (ME) discovered this weekend that it is NOT as easy as it looks. Talked my daughter into letting me cut hers, since it appeared to me that even a blind-folded person could do this successfully. 🤦🏻♀️. Let’s just say, “Shoutout to the rockstar hair dresser who turned my butcher job into a beautifully layered cut.” Thanks to her, I could sleep last night and not worry that my daughter will hate me for life. I have natural curly hair . My hairdresser always cut my hair dry , when I trim I also cut dry . Hair shrinks so much when dry . I’ve had a shag for years , only way to keep my thick natural curl under control and loose the heaviness . Enjoy you videos !!💕🇨🇦

@@Julia-nl3gq I think it’s the hair. When I have long hair I get triangle hair. It’s flat just at the top and intensely tight curls everywhere else. If I keep it super short I have some waves but not tight coils.

Curls do hide a multitude of sins. I now finally see why people straighten curly hair to cut it. I say that as a person who thinks cutting curl by curl makes no sense because curls aren’t all the same and when you straighten the hair you may get a hot mess.
People who get their haircut curl by curl or do it like that don’t wear their hair straight.
If you cut it curl by curl, (as someone who no longer straightens her hair unlike my thumbnail), you're looking for the overall shape as it lays. Curls have a certain shape that change as it grows, so the cut you have today might look terrible six months from now. Unlike straight hair which you can get cut the same way for decades. Curls don't grow the same way all the time.
Unless you're willing to straighten your hair everyday and deal with the damage don't let anyone straighten your curly hair to cut it.
As someone with curly hair; I have to do it curl by curl because my curls shrink and look 4 inches shorter than they actually are. So, not blowing it out allows me to account for shrinkage and make sure the cut looks good.

I did do a wolf cut on myself and it turned out just fine, but I definitely did undercut, I have curly hair and I already know when you cut curls they’ll always spring up even more because there’s less weight holding them down, so should always err on the longer side. You gotta know how your curl pattern behaves.
That's the thing about curly hair. Hair Bhudda was saying that if you cut wet, beware, because it will be shorter when it's dry, and I instantly thought 'double that for curly hair!'
I have curly hair, I've had so many hairdressers cut cut it too short, because they wash it, brush it when it's soaking wet, which pulls out the curls, so it's soaking wet and almost straight, the weight of the water and the way the brushed it out straight makes is straight....and then they cut it straight and wet...
..and not only is it shorter when it dries because it has dried, but because it's curlier.
I wonder why people think simply because they're scissors they'll cut through a chunk of anything let alone here. The style when straight is beautiful. Her hair, imo, was already beautiful, but I do not have curly hair and do not know what it is like to live with. I have not learnt something new, it's confirmation to NOT cut my own hair lol.

I do hair extensions as part of my job, anything to do with hair I will always straighten it first and if they want a curl then add it. This way you can guarantee it looks good straight, it’s even and not hidden by curls like a lot of others.

Oh god I thought this one was going to be a DISASTER MOMENT until she came out with the straightened/flipped/wave look! It seems she possibly went to a hairdresser- good job either way, sometimes the scissors need to be taken away! But either way, curly it was still a bit tragic but I was shocked at the straighter style looking so good!😭
If you have curly hair, please cut gradually: if you cut one cm, it will bounce up for example 2 cm because it's lighter. If you cut 2 cm, it may bounce 4 cm, it's exponential!

I bleached my black hair today.I tried to avoid the roots but had a reaction to the bleach, panicked and have hot roots now.
I did pay attention to not bleaching too far, at least,I left the rest at orange because I want copper. Still, should have filmed and sent that in for a reaction lol
I think that before taking any decision about our hair, we should consider some factors: is it curly? Is it fine or thick? How much maintebance/ime/money are we willing to dedicate every day? Do we need to make updos (sports, etc.). Do we have grays? Is our hair healthy? Looking at old pictures, which hairstyle made us happy? How often do we want to go to an hairdresser/do it ourselves? Impulsive choices do not pay.
Even I felt anxious as she cut her hair. And I don't understand the first thing about cutting hair!

You mention cutting curly hair wet in this video. My mother is a hairdresser and has always cut my naturally curly hair wet. My niece is also a hairdresser and they've taught her to only cut curly hair dry. For curls like mine, the curl is never consistent when dry day to day so I'm not sure how someone is to get a good cut if cutting and shaping it while dry is a thing. What are your opinions, Hair Buddha?
