Training plumbers on how to correctly install a tankless with Navien

I was asked to help in the training of Navien level 3 training on how to correctly install a Navien tankless heater. This is what I call out of the box training and it pretty much the cause of tankless failures. I have been stressing this training to other tankless companies that have fallen on deaf ears and Navien is the company that would listen. This was what you say as a test, and it went over very well.
There were 32 plumbers in the class with only a few that had more than 3 heaters installed.
I do have private training that i do here in Florida in my studio but in my opinions this in very important to do while doing a level 3 class.

The vent is what normally is installed incorrectly. I wish people looked at the manual more . Thank you for your wisdom

Thanks for the video. I came here after my plumber blamed my NPE--240A2 putting out hot water from the cold tap on the Navien system. By the way, you nailed it! 3 is tertiary. The full count from 1 to 10 is primary, secondary, tertiary, quaternary, quinary, senary, septenary, octonary, nonary, and denary.

I just wanna let you know that your videos are amazing. I’m 40 years old and live in New York. I’m a licensed New York City superintendent and I’ve been a Super doing high-rise construction for 20 years. I’ve decided to leave the field and get into tankless water heaters. I’ve always loved oil burners and serviced them on the weekends and on the side. I just went to the Toronto Navien class and it was great. All of your videos are very helpful

having leaking heat exchangers out of the box is not installer error....we stopped these. they are dangerous and a liability

I beg to differ, I’ve installed over a thousand of the series 2 and not one problem👍👍 Now Rinnai is a different problem. Thanks for the comment

Have seen Rinnai heat exchamgers failed within 2 years recently @@ThatTanklessGuy

The only experience I have had with Navien was a 4 year old unit exploding repeatedly and blowing the exhaust vent pipe off the unit, pouring CO into the facility, luckily no one lives in.

It could have been not converted rite or condensate building up in the heat exchanger

It was converted properly, unit was warrantied by Navien. Unit was swapped and the issue has not reoccurred yet.
