People in general are fairly easy to please, so it's better to mass produce formulaic crap for filler. Screw the radio though. Now that we have everything from old school tape decks to USB ports for hand held devices, regular ole' radio can fuck off.
I'm a listener to metal on a normal basis ... but I gotta say this Steeldrivers kicks some serious ass this is definitely better than some "country" music I hear daily at work
Modern country is just like modern rock. It's mostly corporate formula crap. You have to dig deep to find anything good. This stuff is definately good.
OK, I really don't like country or bluegrass (sorry folks). But this guy's voice...this guy transcends it all. Feels like one of the old time blues singers that have a passion in their voice that makes you stop and listen. LOVE it.
Well judge looked down, gave me 40 days Instead of the fine that I could not pay Said walk right you'll soon be home Cross the line and you're on your own 40 day's of shotguns n barb wire fences 40 nights to sit and listen To the midnight train to Memphis Well now the whistle blows when the sun comes up Hit the floor keep you big mouth shut Eat your breakfast on the ground Work like hell till the sun goes down 40 days of shotguns n barb wire fences 40 nights to sit and listen To the midnight train to Memphis Well now 10 for the jury 10 for the judge 20 more to forget my grudge When I get to 39 That's the longest day in a prisoner's mind 40 days of shotguns n barb wire fences 40 nights to sit and listen To the midnight train to Memphis Midnight train to Memphis On a midnight train to Memphis
A lot of radio stations are not going to play bluegrass music, except for some country music stations. It's kinda sad cause bluegrass has a lot of power and harmony and should be played by a lot of different stations!
Apparently some folks don’t know the meaning of the word “prefer” haha. I love both versions but I’ve only just discovered this one so I’ll let it simmer before picking a favorite.
The steeldrivers were the first bluegrass band I ever enjoyed. I’m glad they opened me up to this world because it kicks ass
Probably this country gals favorite type of music. Love this!
I'll never understand why they don't play real music like this on the radio. this music has so much soul put into it

Colby Dufren exactly! But turn on the radio and they play the same old chit
Because country musics target demographic is now 13-17yr old girls and tbeir ears would fall off if they heard real music like this.
They played this on my radio station last week!! Word is spreading
Man these people are my kind of people. Their music touches my soul.
I really bounce back and forth between this bluegrass version and his sold southern rock take. Both are phenomenal....
Really depends on my mood for me
Link?
Both are good but i prefer the southern rock version
same

I listen to Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad, etc, but got turned on to this type of stuff. I love the old school bluegrass tunes.

Said walk right you'll soon be home
Cross the line and you're on your own
40 day's of shotguns n barb wire fences
40 nights to sit and listen
To the midnight train to Memphis
Well now the whistle blows when the sun comes up
Hit the floor keep you big mouth shut
Eat your breakfast on the ground
Work like hell till the sun goes down
40 days of shotguns n barb wire fences
40 nights to sit and listen
To the midnight train to Memphis
Well now 10 for the jury 10 for the judge
20 more to forget my grudge
When I get to 39

40 days of shotguns n barb wire fences
40 nights to sit and listen
To the midnight train to Memphis
Midnight train to Memphis
On a midnight train to Memphis

Murdergrass
Thanks a lot. :)
Come play in California!
go to website and check their tour dates
Nice catchy tune. Shaman's Harvest's cover for this song is great, but obviously original is greater.
Very good, but I prefer the Chris Stapleton version on Volume 2 of From A Room.
You know this is Chris Stapleton. It was the band he was in.
No. This version is better
Apparently some folks don’t know the meaning of the word “prefer” haha. I love both versions but I’ve only just discovered this one so I’ll let it simmer before picking a favorite.
