If you ever noticed gunshots from a distance you can actually hear some old sounds, why? because cs characters have now earplugs thats why you as the player hear light noises

If you watch the reload of UMP (6:03) and then double tap skip with your mobile phone (10 sec forward) the reload animation will continue to the next one almost flawlessly.
Edit: You can also go back and forth while still in the reload animation.

New Sounds = Outdoor Range
Yeah I was thinking that too. Not only were the audio tracks themselves changed, they also changed the way sounds are generated in the game engine. For example, now sounds can be more or less echoed, depending on where you are and where the sound is being genereated.
In the video, all the guns sounds were compared outside. I wonder if shooting the guns inside with the new sounds (outdoor range recordings) will make them sound more like the old ones (indoor range recordings). Might be something to test.

I lime most of the old sounds more because you can hear the power behind the guns. The echoing really helped with that. Maybe theres a mod fr the old gunsounds but i really dont eant to imagine how complicated it is to install mods for cs go.

Sound doesn’t go through walls, it goes around walls, unlike in csgo where you hear them through walls. Gunshots and shouting can be heard through walls, but you can hear them even with hearing protection. The only logical reason to not wear hearing protection is to hear orders. CQC and special forces units need to wear hearing protection because of the extremely loud sounds bouncing off the walls at close range, or else their hearing will be damaged.

I recall watching a video (or a few) on why gun sounds in games have changed over the years.
Listening to them, the old gun sounds are loud. I can imagine prolonged exposure to the sounds can damage your hearing.
Newer gun sounds are now not as loud, though I also notice that the treble is much lower for newer gun sounds but has a bit more bass.

Every old sound had the same metallic blast noise tho, just different frequencies. The new sounds took much more work while the old ones were the game design equivalent of Ctrl+C Ctrl+V then changed a bit to sound slightly different.
The new sounds don't really sound like something from CS, usually CS gun sounds sound punchy and have a lot of bass.The new sounds are really lacking.

@@ochirhuu11a6 Because it doesn't sound like a gun at all. Neither game-ish nor real one (yea, I've been to shooting range - indoor and outdoor - and I know how the real gunshot sounds). Some others are almost as bad - P250, Glock and Famas sound like plastic toys.

The new sounds are easier to distinguish from each other, but the old sounds just sound so much better.
