You were the first "watch person" I watched on UA-cam and you got me really into watches! Thank you so much and can't wait to see where you take this in future x
Dear TGV! I remember how the spark of excitement hit me when I watched one of your videos for the first time. Today, this excitement culminated in buying my first wrist watch and I thought this is a worthy opportunity to leave my first comment. What a coincidence this is the day you announce a major change for The Urban Gentry... Anyway, the watch I bought is a used, Swiss-made, automatic diver with a bronze case that developed a nice patina already. The dial and bezel are deep blue, my favourite color. Whenever I get conscious about the watch being on my wrist (which happens multiple times per minute), all the amazing things come into my mind: the great looks of it, the craftsmanship, the heritage. It is so much more than just a piece of equipment telling the time. I want to thank you for bringing this enriching, new excitement to my life! Please be healthy and safe and stay close to us with many new videos in the future! Cheers from Germany Dario P.S. please find a way to get Hugo out of jail, he would be missed a lot. I am sure he learned his lesson and will keep a low profile on his rampages to come.
What a wonderful comment, thank you so much Dario for sharing that, it made me smile immensely. Enjoy your first watch, what a great journey you have marked on, I am honored you shared it here. Onwards and upwards! Best regards, TGV P.s. I will see what I can do about Hugo ;-)
I've come back to this video just to say how concerned I was when it was posted, but how delighted I am that a year on the gentry is going strong. I'm high functioning autistic and this channel has been a great comfort to me, as well as being an excellent resource to explore a hobby. Onwards and upwards.
So it's 1am in the UK and I'm tottering off to bed, and my eyes saw the head line to the video. I can honestly say my heart sank a little, the Gentry has become a part of my life and even my eldest son has become a follower. Chatting with my son about watches and the channel meant we had "proper conversations". I'm glad your going to maintain it in some form, and harking back to the "Golden Years" will certainly be of interest. Never underestimate the joy you have brought to people, I have depression and anything that has the ability to maintain my attention for a period of time has to be very good indeed. My love of watches was reignited and brings a welcome distraction to bad days. Love to you, your good lady, Hugo and fellow Gentry. x
TGV - I remember a time years ago you weren't feeling well at all following a hospital stay. The next day after your hospital release, you shot and edited a 30 minute watch review for this community! Your work ethic, determination and creativity will serve you well in any future endeavors. Go forward with confidence my friend. I'm excited to see where you take this platform you've built.
Having been in hospital for 3 months straight at one time, I know how boring it is, and you get anxious to do something tight away after leaving. I'll bet he had it all done in his head, down to the last image, and only had to get out the camera to get it recorded and edited.
The way you've inspired so many people, including myself, to earn the respect of watches and the craft in creating them is something I'll always be thankful for. I bought my Omega Speedmaster as my first big purchase thanks your channel, and I've loved it ever since. Thankyou for everything
I found your channel about 2 years ago when I searched UA-cam for “good cheap watches”. I was immediately hooked and you were the biggest influence on me in my watch journey. Good luck to you and I will continue to watch and look forward to what comes next. “O captain!,my captain!”
This was the place I found like-minded souls who loved watches but also had an appreciation for life and being a better version of yourself. Keep the gentry flag flying and God bless!
Mate just do what you have always done. That's what makes your channel so unique. I loved the early days and would be glad to see the channel go back to its roots and whatever new stuff you intend on posting as I know it will provide great content. Love the EDC and travel episodes. Your a top man. Keep it going.
For TGV , Actually, I tried Lavazza (they all you a commission) I did not like the taste, but to be fair making coffee making is not my specialty ... Love
Hey TGV, was concerned about the silence of the last few weeks. Glad you're healthy. I really enjoyed the original gentry: art, culture, history and watches. Have come to appreciate watches because of you. Hope you continue this channel in any new form. Change is life.
The mark of a real gentleman- he does this for others, and keeps the monetary aspect private. If you've been following his videos, you probably know what's involved financially, and TGVs explained it many times.
Yours was the first watch channel I watched where I didn’t feel I was being sold to. It was your enthusiasm, lack of snobbishness, and sense of discovery that were appealing. All the best, and I’m looking forward to what comes next.
I second: "You were the first "watch person" I watched on UA-cam and you got me really into watches!"... also in to some books :) Thank you for sharing your watch passion with us. Also when ever you have time and the willingness.. return to UA-cam and make some videos. Lets wait for TGV's "New golden era". Stay safe.
I learned from you that a person can love a watch not for what it says about them, but for how it makes them feel. I love my watch even more in lockdown - no one is around to see me wearing it but it brings me joy and comfort - it makes me feel special when there is not much right now to feel special about.
It’s good to see a watch Chanel actually acknowledge the fact that luxury watches aren’t a priority for so many right now. Respect to you and may I wish you well for the future no matter what that may be and thank you so much for teaching me many things 👍
TGV you have always said buy what you can afford, the current situation has made us evaluate that even more but it’s a great point, no matter what your income is. Your videos are the reason I bought a lorier, the reason I use a moka pot, my new found love of Wagner and so much more. Thank you for all the great content, I can’t wait to see where the future takes you. All the best.
Looking foreward to the new direction your channel is taking. You have a passion for the greatest things in life. I have seen your favourites in the arts passing by on your screensaver, and some special items on the walls or in your cabinets... Good luck finding your next job TGV, and greetings to mrs. TGV and Hugo. Best wishes from Holland.
I joined when you had around 20k subs, and I do miss those days where you were talking about being a gentleman :D , that is the kind of content I would love to see more
I think I've watched TGV since he posted a video of him making a cup of coffee. I don't even like coffee but I was hooked! The way he described it was like something out of a Shakespearean novel! There's a certain mystique about TGVs presentation style and he could do a video on snails in your garden , but you'd tune in to watch it.
Hi tgv, I’m so glad to finally see you safe and well, knowing your history with your lung issues I was starting to get worried when you hadn’t posted for some time, in regards to the channel may I just say that you have built this amazing channel and helped grow the community off your own hard work and stealy effort, so for me what ever your choices are moving forward for the channel you will have my support and friendship 100 %, and it goes without saying if I can help in any way I will, in the mean time I wish your wife, your family and of coarse yourself, to stay well and stay safe, Onwards and Upwards you’re friend Ryan .
I just found your channel along with my new love for watches. You are a pleasure to listen to and you exude genuineness. While I’m in no danger of running out of your videos to watch (at the moment) this announcement makes me happy because I am genuinely interested in what other things (besides watches) you could turn my interest towards. Thanks for being you.
I was worried about you - I’m watching now! Glad you’re getting back to your roots - your musical selection for the intros, reviews is amazing. I still remember you’re Bialetti review from 2014 - you’ve come along way, amigo! Good luck with the job search! On a sartorial note, you should do a self-hair cut video - I figured out how to do a taper cut!
I am a very recent subscriber. While I am not a bonafide 'watch person', I do like enjoy them, however you ignited in me an appreciation of the beauty and wonder of watches that I did not know I had. NO OTHER WATCH CHANNEL COULD ACCOMPLISH THAT. Truth told, the main reason I watch your channel is not so much the subject (watches), but because of your style and the way you deliver content with such enthusiasm, humor, joy, passion and most of all honesty and integrity. Your videos are an absolute joy to watch and I am sure that whatever you decide to do will work out. I for one will continue to follow you and look forward to your next endeavors. As you say, onward and forward! And serves that scoundrel Hugo right to spend some time in the slammer for having raised such havoc!
I understand how he feels, I'm still furlough'ed and worrying about my job Was hoping to buy a Rolex Oyster Perpetual, but will now have to wait and see if I still have a job after this s**t is over.
Hi TGV, I definitely like the idea of broadening the channel. I don't come here for the $10,000 watches. I come here for your wit & humor, enthusiasm for all watches and your passion for bettering ourselves as human beings. Also Hugo is always a delight.
Dear Tristano, I started watching your channel shortly after I lost my Father suddenly early last year, please know that your positive attitude and love of horology has helped me immensely with my own personal battles. Whatever form or shape the channel takes I will be here as it’s you and your personality that is the draw for me. I’ve always found solace whilst listening to any of your content. So thank you for being there for me. Much love from the UK.
Good morning young man, I wish you and your family well, now and in the future. I only recently found your channel this past February after the passing of my Father. I was given his father’s old Hamilton pocket watch. My dad and his siblings saw a great deal of the country, back in the 50’s,from trains because my granddaddy worked for the railroad. My father had great respect for time. When he was making a point he would say “That’s Railroad time!”. Because of Dad I’ve always worn a watch however a watch was like , a shirt, a pair of paints, etc. just part of what I wore. No thought given to it really, apart form the utility of it. Receiving my granddad’s pocket watch sparked an interest. It connected me to my father in a small, meaningful, physical way. That connection got me interested in the idea of collecting, so I started educating myself to watches. Your channel was the first one I watched. I was impressed by your knowledge, manners, excitement, and humility. Your channel has been a great resource for me into the wonderful world of watch collecting, horology, and a desire to leave my own son and grandson with a few things to spark conversations now, and aid in recalling memories later. Thank you and best of luck going forward. Paul
You are the reason I have such a passion for watches now. Also many of your other videos on books and films and inspirational quotes and style tips lifestyle changes...on and on have helped me immeasurably. So thank you so much. Will be here whatever you decide to do. All the best. Onwards and upwards.
Your channel has taught me so much. Your passion, especially during watch reveals, have been infectious. Thank you for your views and help. Onto the next passion. Looking forward to seeing your next video!
Hi tgv hope all is well with you I appreciate your channel and your outlook on life it has helped me out a lot recently so in return you will always have my support and best wishes going forward in what ever capacity you can managethanks for all your hard work producing the content you do big fan of Hugo aswel he never fails to bring a smile
I am in my late 40’s and after decades of being a cursory fan of watches from a craftsmanship and history standpoint, I recently decided to dive in a bit and start properly learning about them and wearing one daily. They have always spoken to me as an extremely personal item, an item that has witnessed pivotal points in their owner's life as well as being an example of humanities ingenuity. Literally two weeks ago I discovered The Urban Gentry UA-cam channel. Although I myself am somewhat of a polished barbarian, I took an instant like to TGV. We seemed to share many interests and I enjoyed going through his back catalog and enjoyed the UGWC FB group as well (there really seems to be some pretty good people there). So, here we are, I'm surely not an OG, but as a person who is interested in TGV and his general interests, I greatly look forward to the conversation heading back towards more varied topics. I hope TGV continues to have the time and desire to spend a bit here and with us. Onwards and Upwards gentlemen.
TGV, my friend. I wanted to thank you for countless hours of watchtalk that I enjoyed an a better perspective on my own collection. Wish you the best. Stay safe. Greetings from Poland
I got here via the watch content, but there are all kinds of people that can point a camera at a watch and cite some specs and make some comparisons. You gave valuable context, intelligent critique, and have a passion that just makes me believe in you. Your positivity, wit, and perhaps most of all your evenhanded and honest criticisms are refreshing in an age where commentary tends to trend towards the most hyperbolic. Your grasp of nuance, subtlety, and ability to occupy the realistic “grey areas” of review and criticism are very welcome, and, if I may say so, are pure class. Thanks for everything you’ve given us, and I’m looking forward to the next chapter.
Hi, this is the first comment I have ever made on any UA-cam channel, your channel has inspired me over the last 6 months through my two luxury watch purchases and helped to keep me sane through 6 wks in hospital for major heart surgery. Wish you all the best in your new ventures and look forward to your new uploads. Thank you. 😁
Thank you so much TGV. You are one of the reasons why I found my company and am doing the job I'm doing now. Wishing you all the best, stay safe and I'm very looking forward to what will come from your side in the future! Good luck with eveything you do. Tom from Chronofactum
As most of other GoodOldGentry here I’m not going anywhere and staying with you / us. Whatever is making this world better worths for supporting and your content TGV is really something exceptional. I wish you could sail the direction your heart is whispering you and still find some time to enrich us with your gentleman experience. Pure class sir! Onwards and Upwards. Cheers from Czech 👍👑. Adam
"Just because we cannot see clearly the end of the road, that is no reason for not setting out on the essential journey. On the contrary, great change dominates the world, and unless we move with change we will become its victims". Robert Francis Kennedy, 1964. Onwards and upwards, best wishes from Bergamo, Italy p.s. I would love to meet you in person someday!
Hello there TGV, I hope you are well. I just wanted to say that I've started watching your channel about 1-1/2 years because I was starting my watch collection and my five into the world of horology and your channel has made my passion for it grow and my intelligence of it as well. You have influenced my collection, which being a newcomer, consists of a Seiko 5 snk805, a Casio f91w, an SUG world time gmt, and a citizen prodiver, and several Timex field watches as well as a Hamilton field watch! So thank you for taking me on this adventure in horology
Nothing never stays the same as we all know and see currently and daily. I myself am retiring from my career after 29 years. The end of one chapter and the moving on to another. Thank you for sharing your experiences and look forward to the new adventures. Pure class you are Sir, thank you. Onwards and upwards. Until next time TGV. Ciao' 🥃
and wine, coffee, fashion, trips, art, history, etc like the old days but a version 2.0...still watch dominant topics but can stray to other interests naturally
Glad you found your next thing. I have loved watching this channel over the past year or so, have bought the watch I longed for for years and am now looking at the next one, one that you've recommended so it's been a joy. I think it will be great to widen the channels interests, I for one will continue to keep a close eye on it. Tally Ho & Ciao!
That title scared the hell out of me! I am so glad that you are well as I must admit I was worried recently. Very happy that you are going to continue the channel but even happier that you are going to do what makes you happy. I can guarantee you one thing... I will always watch and like. Onwards and upwards my friend!
I just watched this video today. I just want to say thank you for everything. You have introduced me into a watch world. There are so many things that i have learned from your videos. I think you are 100% correct about sharing what you love through this channel going forward. Looking forward to your future uploads and thanks again for introducing many great watches!
yes going back to the roots is a totally different vibe...i have been watching less of TGV the past year and long for the format and vibes of his first few years
TGV, I wish you only the best in your future endeavours and will continue to be a loyal fan regardless of what capacity you continue to keep us entertained. To be honest, I respect your opinion and share many of the same passions and have some similar loves outside watches. Stay well and I look forward to hearing from you in the future. Mike DiMaria
I’d pretty much stop watching as the channel had gone high end luxe - I missed the obscure treasures and backstories on the unusual and the wider range - I look forwards to the reset refresh and stay healthy TGV.
Best of luck in your future endeavors. This channel has provided me with hours of entertainment over the years and inspired me to start my own watch collection.
Just a note to say thanks. I have always been a watch fan, but you are the person that really got me into watch collecting. I haven't been watching too much lately, life moves on, but you gave me a solid foundation to dive into horology. Thank you for your perspective. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Especially in days like this, a gentlemen’s channel like yours is so important and highly welcome! I can only say that I wish you all the best for the future and that I really hope that you continue making videos. With your personality they will be great, no matter what content. Cheers Sir! (from Bavaria)
Man , i have been watching your channel for a long time. i like the manner in which you present everything that you do . and your style ofcourse .... ive learned things , and for that i thank you , and will probably rewatch your videos that ive missed . so my best wishes to you TGV . i will be waiting for those new vids
I have a viewer for about 2+ years & I must say I am happy that you are returning to a more purest outlook of your channel. I loved the walks with your pup & going back to the "old School Format". I wish you the best of luck with all your endeavors hear, hear, forward & onward for you :)
Thank you for being so candid. It has been your manner as much as your content that made me subscribe. You started me on my watch collecting journey and I thank you for that. It is time for you to continue your journey. Good luck and I will continue to support the channel.
The Gentry are not just watch lovers, TGV! We are not going anywhere. I personally was quite worried about you. Be well, dear friend! I eagerly await your next endeavor! Onward and upward!!
Your channel has meant a lot to me during these years. Stay safe, stay well, and I'm looking forward to the next chapter. I'm sure it will be as successful as the first. All the best.
Absolutely have LOVED this channel, and your content... It's been so entertaining. Very grateful 🙏 I looked at the watch I'm wearing, Hamilton Khaki 38auto and realized you turned me on to it.. Such enthusiasm, your work will live on for UA-cam. Big up yourself!
You were one of my first watch reviewers that I watched on youtube. Thank you for everything you did. All the hardwork and commitment to horology has been a pleasure to experience through you. Thank you!
Thank you for all the videos so far TGV. I was never into watches until I came across your channel and it’s started a love affair that continues today! Above all, it was your enthusiasm and class which keep me coming back, and your lack of snobbishness is inspiring. So good luck in whatever’s next for you and I’ll continue my support along with the rest!
I believe that one of the reasons why everyone admires you is that passion with which you make your videos. So be it life, literature, books, watches, movie reviews or your new job, you will always excel at what you do and find success wherever. Wishing you good health TGV!
Mate, thank you for the journey so far. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been drawn to watch appreciation let alone collection of all levels because of your engaging videos. Not only with the information itself, but your genuine passion and infectious enthusiasm for pieces across the spectrum. I wish you the very best with following your heart and moving forward with the channel your way. Cheers.
Your opening scene broke my heart, but then I was thrilled to hear the direction you’re taking the channel! I do miss the other bits and bobs from former days. Looking forward to the days ahead for you and the channel!
Thanks for your massive contribution. You introduced me to the joy of my first automatic during my honeymoon in Penang. I still wear it to this day. Always loved your style and warm, welcoming nature, you are the best on UA-cam in my opinion. A real classic! Take care. From New Zealand
This whole situation has gotten us some clarity about what's really important in our lives. We're getting out of this better people. Keep moving forward!
Can’t wait to see what’s in store! I found you a couple of years ago when my Dad asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told him I wanted to wear a real watch again. I hadn’t worn one in about 10 years (only ever had fashion watches, one good Seiko and one good G-shock Casio) and began to search for a good, solid, stainless steel, analog watch. I found you and have fallen into the horological rabbit hole and have loved every minute of it! I knew nothing of the art or history of horology - never before heard the watch terms, “complication” or “movement” Thank you. Thank you for your passion, your knowledge, and your commitment to the finer things of life. You make the world a better place and that’s what we truly need right now. 🙏🏻❤️
I recently just discovered your channel so am sorry to hear your announcement. However, I thank you for what I have learned form watching you and your reviews! You definitely got me back into an old favorite habit of just enjoying watches (which was originally inspired by my Father)! I wish you the best as you pursue new endeavors! Not sure if you're a fan of Jimmy Buffett's music but in his song titled "La Vie Dansante" there is a line he sings "...every stop is a place to start". It seems you find yourself at this junction in life but I'm sure you will have a fantastic new start!! Stay motivated...I will continue to watch all the episodes I haven't yet seen and look forward to your new episodes as well.
Haven’t heard from you in a while my friend started to get concerned I send you my best regards and health and wellness in your words onwards and upwards 👍
I'm happy to have had the opportunity to follow you through the years! I'm not a high roller when it comes to watch buying or collecting but you inspired me to try out a few that i never would have otherwise and I fell in love with the community that comes with collecting! Best wishes and I hope to see you bring out some awesome new content in the future!
Thank you for turning me on to Oris watches. Would've never known about the brand had I not watched your channel and now here I am typing this wearing an Oris Aquis that I bought from Watchbox. It was a pleasure watching your channel and I wish you the best of luck on your future ventures.
One of the reasons I've watched you all these years is because I've been drawn to the profound joy you found in not just watches, but life. I hope whatever you do, you continue to harness that spark. The world is the better for it. Cheers.
Your videos are always a welcomed delight. Anytime a watch catches my eye, you Federico, and Christian are among the first UA-camrs I search to see what content has been put up. I do hope you find the time to continue with new videos! Best wishes in your search for new income streams. With your connections, and positive attitude I suspect you'll quickly find something agreeable :)
Im in love with the Yema..hoping to get it one day..ur opinion counts alot in my watch collection..TGV u made me fall in love with the khaki, Alpinist, casio and the seiko divers..my collection is completely based on ur videos..I cant afford the day date which i lust for..but im definitely going to get the Yema soon..keep on rocking..Stay safe and stay blessed..fan from Pakistan
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has or will tell you that we watch your videos for you. Your content is awesome, I find myself enjoying the videos even if it's something random or about watches I'm not as interested in. Looking forward to seeing the new channel direction, hope all is well.
I always find myself going to your channel, and hitting “oldest->newest”, whenever I need a pick me up. Im sure others do too. It’s so much less formal, more friendly. As you’ve said. A golden age. A return/new golden age is coming I’m sure !
I look forward to the new content. You really opened my eyes to the world of watches (always have liked watches). Please do not forget about the watches (reviews/opinions etc.).
Finding your channel was a breath of fresh air for me. Learning about horology and the history of iconic companies was great, but being virtually welcomed by your positivity and open-mindedness was even greater. I look forward to the content you produce in the future. I hope the best for your future endeavors. Thanks for all you've shared so far.
I have to be honest, I’m excited about you getting back to the roots of the channel. I haven’t tuned in as much over the past year or so. It did seem like it was getting a little commercialized. I love the old EDC, clothing, and coffee type videos as much or better than the watch videos. Good luck and can’t wait to see what’s next!
I’m not a gentleman and I’m not English but you make me wish I was! I love you TGV, you’re amazing and a diamond in the rocks. Thank you for all your great content and inspirational thoughts. We all love you so much.
You were the first "watch person" I watched on UA-cam and you got me really into watches! Thank you so much and can't wait to see where you take this in future x
Same here. Just bought my first watch in probably 15 years.
same here,... thank you sir for all your great video.
Same here, Amen
Same here - much love from Indonesia
Me too. All the best from another ex-pat from North London.
Cheers from Germany
Dario
P.S. please find a way to get Hugo out of jail, he would be missed a lot.
Best regards,
TGV
P.s. I will see what I can do about Hugo ;-)
I know this sounds out of the water but what’s happening here? Why is he ending this channel?
@@hathaway.1166 He's not; just changing content.
I've come back to this video just to say how concerned I was when it was posted, but how delighted I am that a year on the gentry is going strong. I respect you deeply, Gentry! You single-handedly turned me into an enlightened watch enthusiast years ago.
not enlightened enough to get that we, not he, are the gentry

One of the few legit youtubers out there. Very authentic and not money oriented.
It's your personality that brings me here .
Respect !
Just like snoop dogg say "true to the game" this channel is gold my subscription will stay here forever i love this channel👍
You serious bro? This guy is as dirty as they come on UA-cam.
John S Not money oriented? What are you talking about?
The mark of a real gentleman- he does this for others, and keeps the monetary aspect private. If you've been following his videos, you probably know what's involved financially, and TGVs explained it many times.
I remember a few years ago you started a “what makes a good gentleman” series or something to that effect, would love to see that continue.
Agreed. This is what brought me to the dance, as it were.
Same here. I mentioned this in my comment too. I loved the old videos.
Agreed!
Thomas Hayward agreed! It was that kind of ‘bettering yourself’ content that made me subscribe to the good Gentry in the first place.
I especially enjoyed videos where you talked about your heritage and family history TGV, and how that informs your life today.
You got me into the world of Horologist thank you for all you’ve done
Yours was the first watch channel I watched where I didn’t feel I was being sold to. It was your enthusiasm, lack of snobbishness, and sense of discovery that were appealing. All the best, and I’m looking forward to what comes next.
For every door that closes another opens. TGV I’ve started my life over 3 times in 50 years. Everything is meant to be.
4 times in 15 years here! Maybe there'll be a 5th soon, who knows... but it's all good and can only get better :)
Reinvention of yourself is painful at times but can result in something you could never imagine.
Stay safe.
Let's make a list. Which watch did you get after watching his channel? Which one to you relate to TGV (more or less)?
@@christianjoachimgruber2773 skx007 and never looked back!
@@julienmarchand9838 same here skx 007, followed by casio marlin and many more!!!
TGV turned me on to the Casio G-Shock. I now own three of them: DW5600E-1V, GWB5600BC-1B and GW2310-1.
Best to you. Good luck
“To be good is to change, to be great is to change frequently.” Cheers mate
I think “the end” is the wrong way to view this. This is the beginning of something new.
R W. I agree, unfortunately!
I understand how he feels, I'm still furlough'ed and worrying about my job Was hoping to buy a Rolex Oyster Perpetual, but will now have to wait and see if I still have a job after this s**t is over.

@@abefroman8202 Thanks, not struggling but still need a job to live, but will be more difficult if everyone is looking for a job at the same time.
Good morning young man,
I wish you and your family well, now and in the future.
Paul
Dude! Sad days. You’re Seiko and Casio love and reviews is what got me into watches. Do what you love!
You are the reason I have such a passion for watches now. Also many of your other videos on books and films and inspirational quotes and style tips lifestyle changes...on and on have helped me immeasurably. So thank you so much. Will be here whatever you decide to do. All the best. Onwards and upwards.
"A new golden era" TGV that's a pursuit.
You've helped us all become Urban Gentry's.
Looking forward to the journey.
God's blessing to you.
Welcome, glad to have a new Gentry!
I wish you all the best, may the gent in you carry on.

Adam

Ciao' 🥃
Wise decision! I'd love to hear about discussions or reviews about film, health, philosophies
and wine, coffee, fashion, trips, art, history, etc like the old days but a version 2.0...still watch dominant topics but can stray to other interests naturally
The Hugo bit gets me every time! Hopefully someone will help him make bail. Otherwise, I'll miss him..
We need a kickstarter!
Free HUGO!
I just watched this video today. I just want to say thank you for everything. You have introduced me into a watch world. There are so many things that i have learned from your videos. I think you are 100% correct about sharing what you love through this channel going forward. Looking forward to your future uploads and thanks again for introducing many great watches!
The Urban Gentry going back to the roots - rarely had I such a wide smile on my face 💪🙏
yes going back to the roots is a totally different vibe...i have been watching less of TGV the past year and long for the format and vibes of his first few years
TGV, I wish you only the best in your future endeavours and will continue to be a loyal fan regardless of what capacity you continue to keep us entertained.
I like your profile pic. I miss Calvin and Hobbes
Thank you so much Connor, that makes me profoundly happy to hear, enjoy the collecting journey
Best regards,
TGV

Just a note to say thanks. I have always been a watch fan, but you are the person that really got me into watch collecting. I haven't been watching too much lately, life moves on, but you gave me a solid foundation to dive into horology. Thank you for your perspective. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
All the best TGV, you are a true inspiration. Stay safe, be well.
Especially in days like this, a gentlemen’s channel like yours is so important and highly welcome! I can only say that I wish you all the best for the future and that I really hope that you continue making videos. With your personality they will be great, no matter what content. Cheers Sir! I found your channel when I was looking up watches. You’re a very interesting person and I will continue following you.
I have a viewer for about 2+ years & I must say I am happy that you are returning to a more purest outlook of your channel. I loved the walks with your pup & going back to the "old School Format". I wish you the best of luck with all your endeavors hear, hear, forward & onward for you :)
My first impression, NOOO!
What ever you do my friend, we’ll be watching.
Cheers 🥂
Thank you for being there all of this time sharing and teaching us. May your roads take you to good things always.
Glad you're doing well! Sometimes you really do just need a change. Even if the content changes, I look forward to the future of the channel.
You were one of my first watch reviewers that I watched on youtube. Thank you for everything you did. All the hardwork and commitment to horology has been a pleasure to experience through you. Thank you!
I wish you the best of luck, my friend 🍀
Don’t stop we love the channel
Thank you for all the videos so far TGV. I was never into watches until I came across your channel and it’s started a love affair that continues today! Above all, it was your enthusiasm and class which keep me coming back, and your lack of snobbishness is inspiring. So good luck in whatever’s next for you and I’ll continue my support along with the rest!
I believe that one of the reasons why everyone admires you is that passion with which you make your videos. So be it life, literature, books, watches, movie reviews or your new job, you will always excel at what you do and find success wherever. Wishing you good health TGV!
" everyone admires you". Seriously? Do you know his history?
Thank you for all your insight, advice, personality, and good times.
Your passion is truly infectious, thank you for getting me into this!
Thanks for your massive contribution. You introduced me to the joy of my first automatic during my honeymoon in Penang. I still wear it to this day. Always loved your style and warm, welcoming nature, you are the best on UA-cam in my opinion. A real classic! Take care.

Good luck, stay safe and looking forward to the “ol” relaxed, no pressure TGV (& Hugo) show! “Onwards and Upwards 👍🍻
Ditto that!
I'm happy to have had the opportunity to follow you through the years! I'm not a high roller when it comes to watch buying or collecting but you inspired me to try out a few that i never would have otherwise and I fell in love with the community that comes with collecting! One of the reasons I've watched you all these years is because I've been drawn to the profound joy you found in not just watches, but life. I hope whatever you do, you continue to harness that spark. The world is the better for it. Cheers.

Such a class act, I look forward to seeing what the future holds for you.
That ending was priceless. Loved it. Looking forward to this new chapter in The Urban Gentry. But Hugo has to stay. Come on now.
