Hey guys you should clarify the lift is from the springs. As in if they used the stock springs they would get the 2.75 lift by moving the ring up. They are using lift springs which are meant for the stage two kit.
i bought the same lift for my 5th gen trail edition. Eibach say 2.75 inches lift for the front on lowest setting n 1 inch for the rear. love them so far. did me great in colorado
@@TrailBendersOverland so is it a 2 or 2.75 inch lift in the front? 2.75 is too much for me. I would buy this tomorrow if it truly is 2 inches in the front and 1 inch in the rear. I can't find a definitive answer to this. Thanks
@@stephenruether8216the highest ring gives 2.75 inch lift. The lowest is stock height. These guys are using lift springs. So they are getting their lift from the springs and not the shocks. If you buy the shocks and use your stock springs you will have to put the ring at the height height to get 2.75 inch lift.
For me it was somewhat of a good video but I spent 25+ years as a wrench so my thinking is if I was the typical shade tree mechanic I may have wanted just a little more detail..
At what point do you need new control arms? I was just going to do about a 1” in front with 275s. Not going to make mine into a heavy overland rig. Just something for moderate off road/hunting/ camping.
You didn't link the website in the description hombre. Also you might've convinced me on this eibach kit. Think it would be good on rough pennsylvania roads? Also considering fox 2.0 or Bilstein
It’s funny you mention box. I went to Death Valley with a group and a Tacoma there had fox shocks with remote reservoirs . The girlfriend of that guy drove my 4Runner for a while so I could film and she said my 4Runner was noticeably more comfortable on the washboard roads.
@@TrailBendersOverland well that's promising. Mine is a stock v6 and I won't be adding weight how do you think that'd compare to your heavier truck on the same springs. Bouncy? My town is literally a pothole. Thanks for advice btw
@@olbabybeard It’ll be stiffer than my truck. It’s definitely not loose with no weight. But I don’t think any lift will makes it a particularly softer ride unless you get some soft springs.
Where do we go now? Eibach sells a 5th gen kit. You can 100% use it with KDSS. Pretty sure there’s just a few bolts to loosen to make the install go smoother with KDSS. If you were asking if it will direct fit.. I feel like it would but can’t say for sure myself.
Hell yeah!! Haha Eibach brand only sells selves coils for truck lifts. We asked the same question. It’s worth the silver though since their such great springs!
@@TrailBendersOverlandlol.. thank you for the response... Also I head Eibach quality control isn't what it use to be... Did u see anything that made u feel that way?
Not at all. They seem super solid. We saw all their testing equipment and how they test everything. I was impressed actually. Never heard of anything going bad.
If I recall it took around 8 hours for us, but that was including film time. You can probably do it in 5-6 hours. Happy to help!! The rear took just over an hour, so expect the front to be more of a pain.
@@TrailBendersOverland Awesome! So I won’t have to worry about my stock control arms being under constant stress or anything? Who increasing the ride height without changing out the stock control arms negatively affect anything else in the drivetrain? Thanks so much!
@@GadgetAddicted Short answer is.. no. Not enough to worry about. If you go much higher then you’d start looking into diff drops and control arms. But this is a relatively mild lift.
For the torque specs on any automotive parts, you should specify if that torque number is in-lbs or ft-lbs. I know that the UCA is gonna be in ft-lbs but the beginner may not know that yet.
@@TrailBendersOverland Yeah man. I'll give your video another watch just before I start the install. Thanks for the pointers. Nice to see that I could do the install without disconnecting the tie rod. As well as disconnecting the rear sway bar at the axle. cheers,
The only video I’ve found that talks about the tools used and the process involved with each nut and bolt! Good job

As for the solar panel setup , No link below when you said there was.
The highest lift for the front is 3 inches right? According to their website, just making sure.

Any updates? What tires did you end up putting on it ?
Its been 3 years. Hows the ride quality ?

richard wharton You can safely go up to 2.5-2.75 inches before needing upper control arms. At 1” you are totally safe.
How the hell did you get the spring compressor clamps out once the eibach was assembled, I'm doing it and there is no room.
How is the ride? I am looking at this for a 2019 Limited, as the system is already dead, leaking front OEM XRAES shocks
Do you need extended brake lines for this?
General question for these lifts since i havent been able to find info anywhere... Are the struts side specific? Is there a drive side specific strut?
No. Just specific to front or rear.

Yup. A lot of 4Runner owners do this. Dumbass thinking with a side of concrete crawler mentality. I say let them waste their money.
