Love the RCI skids.. we have a full set on our GX460 and we've bashed them to heck and so far so good 😅❤

RCI makes great armor. I have a full set. I do think Hefty Fab Works though makes better armor because of all the gussets they add. Regardless, the lowest point on the 5th Gen 4Runner is the rear differential. You might consider getting that armored up. There are a couple of vulnerable points in the rear diff that need to be protected.

The rear differential is a jack point. That’s pretty strong. Never met anyone who got stuck because their diff wasn’t armored

Very good content. When would you add the diff skid plate😅. Waiting on that video.

great vid, thanks! I wonder if the blocker plate would work with the OEM bumper also, I need something to block the gap between the skid and bumper...the RCI blocker plate is quite narrow.

Thanks for taking time to post this video, I will be doing this install next week with same setup as yours. Just curious if you had to do a body mount chop to fit the 285's on your Runner? Great looking rig!

My setup is working quite well and the body mounts are not an issue. I dream of going to 295s and I know then a BMC would be required.

Can you keep the OEM TRD Pro front Skid Plate and still use the RCI for everything else...???

No, the 2 front skids aren’t the same size

You ever regret going full aluminum and not steel?

Not at all. The aluminum skids are holding up well and are light, which makes taking them off to clean for winter a breeze.

I originally got aluminum and they were great, until they met a boulder under ice that was their demise.
