    Turquoise is just a colour mutation, one of many. They are still a green cheek conure and there's no reason why any colour mutation such as the turquoise would be any quieter than a yellow sided, cinnamon, or normal green cheek or any other color mutation as they are all the same species of conure unlike sun conures or other types of conures.

      No they are quiet! I agree it’s just a mutation but I’ve owned both green & turquoise but for some reason the turquoise are way way more quieter and way more neck cuddle bugs! It’s weird

      Not necessarily. Selective breeding for a particular color mutation brings along other genes as well. It is a fact that people in the know have observed general differences in temperament between the various Green Cheek Conure color mutations. That is not to say that there are not differences between individual birds in any color group of the species Green Cheek and it is well documented that there are, statistically speaking, temperament differences between male and female conures in any species. It is a fact that, statistically speaking, breeders of GCC have observed that ones with the turquoise mutation are a bit larger than the wild type colored birds or the other color mutations. It is a bit confusing in this video that the author seems to discuss the different color mutations of the GCC as if they are separate species as she does not clarify that her Sun Conure is a separate species and not a color mutation of the GCC

    Wow! Sounds like I need to get a turquoise yellow sided green cheek conure. Cause I realy suffer from allergy that's why I gave up the idea of getting cocktail, although I love there gentle and playful nature.
    But Now when you shared these facts it sounds like This bird's species is realy gonna suit me. I can't imagine that I can have a quiet cuddly and playful bird who wouldn't give me allergy 😁 Its like 'what I exactly wish for to buy is in my budget.' Thank you so much Sandra for the informations ❤️. I realy can't miss any of your videos they are so informative. #mariposaartgallery

      @@PoodlesandParrots 🙈 that's a big complement and I'm really glad that my comments make you happy. I'll tell you the truth today, One day I dreamt about a lady who owns a flock of Sun Conures gave me one of the conure babies,,,, being an animal lover, in the morning when I woke up I decided to have a Sun Conure, but before that I needed to get some knowledge so I googled about sun conure owners and I found Mango & You. From that very first moment I liked you on that instant cause you explain the informations in so much Jolly and friendly way. But as I got to know Sun Conures are loud, i knew it would be little difficult for me.
      And I guess now I have my suitable species of Conures.

    • @thecoylelife
      @thecoylelife 3 роки тому +1

      Please be mindful that green cheeks are nowhere near as quiet as cockatiels. Their flock calls can be quite loud and if they are spooked their danger alerts are even louder. I have two of them and they make quite a lot of noise at various times of the day.

      @@thecoylelife yeah I understand what you are talking about but here the one(Mia) which is shown in the video is a yellow sided turquoise green cheek conure which is a mutation of green cheek conure. So as she has explained the characteristics of them , I'm talking about on that basis.

    i know this is an old video and dont expect to recieve a reply, but I have a question!
    Do Turquoise Green-Cheeked Conures happen to get along with Bourke's Parrots/Parakeets? My fiancé and I are planning for our future by making a list notes and such about various dream pets, and both of these species are on there! If they would not cohabitate well (there would be a very large cage, potentially custom built to take up part of a whole room to be 'walk-in') then we will research further into what we would suit us best. (We really hope they do! I can find much about specifically those two species together online, so I am unsure) ❤

    • @PoodlesandParrots
      @PoodlesandParrots  2 місяці тому

      Both Turquoise Green-Cheeked Conures and Bourke's Parakeets are wonderful choices, but it's great that you're thinking ahead about their compatibility. While both species are generally known to be social and friendly, they do have different temperaments and energy levels. Green-cheeked conures tend to be more playful and sometimes boisterous, while Bourke's Parakeets are typically more laid-back and gentle. They are also different in terms of size. Most parrot professionals have recommended keeping birds within the same species as it increases the chances that they will get on well, and when they are within the same size, there is less worry that one could injure the other. Something to also keep in mind is that not every bird will get along with other birds - just like humans! I also recommend listening to episodes of The Parrot Podcast, as there is so much information and insight from different parrot owners, vets and so on in the episodes!
      Cohabitation can sometimes work if the birds have plenty of space to establish their own territories, like the large walk-in cage you’re planning. However, it's important to monitor their interactions closely, especially in the beginning, to ensure that they get along well. It might also be worth considering having separate spaces for each species within the larger enclosure, just in case they need some time apart. Doing more research and maybe even consulting with a vet or avian specialist could give you more peace of mind. Good luck with your dream pet planning!💕

      @@PoodlesandParrots Thank you so much! I will definitely take notes of all of this, and size and temperment was main thing i was worried about when thinking of pairing them in the same space. Hearing you bring attention to that concern reassures the hunch i had of this, lol! My fiance and i are just in love with both species and are unsure if we's be able to create large spaces for both (at least at the same time), and the idea of choosing between the two is a very hard choice. Thank you for responding! I will definitely be watching more of your content, both for myself because of my love for animals and for my fiance because of his desire for a bird. When he was very young his parents got what we are thinking was some sort of small to medium size, light blue parrot of some kind (though he cant remember the exacr species) and they did so without much research or care, and rarely rook her out of the cage she was in. It caused her to grow resentful and act aggressive, which caused his parents interact even less with her. They had a pair for her, but he passed (i am unsure of the cause) which sent her over the edge into aggression. He loves birds and wants the chance to make a birds life a proper and good one. He was only 7 or 8 when this was happening, and remembers the hurt he felt every time he looked at her but since he was so young he didnt really know what to do, and was also scared. Thank you so much for you reply, again, i really appreciate it because i want to make his dream come true (as soon as the housing market prices go down at least)

      Hi there! We live in an apartment currently & we have had a good experience - Mia is not nearly as noisy as Mango (sun Conure) but they can, of course, be loud if they want to! They need to have lots of mental stimulation, exercise, a good diet and daily training :) hope this helps!
