I’m doing my research before getting my first bird and definitely appreciated all these tips. I want a sweet bird that is not going to be rogue terror flying around the house!!
Victoria Ryann thanks I’m so excited! I bookmarked a ton of your videos to go through. I keep going back and forth regarding which breed best to get for my life- parrotlet, green cheek conure, cockatiel, Senegal!
I got one from PetSmart not too long ago. Her name is Sage and she is the most chill, calm bird to ever exist and will be happy as long as she’s in good conditions ❤. Unlike the parakeets lol. But anyway, people like to say you shouldn’t get birds from PetSmart but it is not true! Just make sure they are healthy. Hope this helped!
I've just taken your advice and completly redirected my attention away... WORKED A CHARM..... He was on my hand I turned my face away.. He stopped biting after a few seconds started scampering up my arm.... I'm still in training lol
Right?!?! I just found her channel. (So glad I have). But now feel as if I've missed out on something all this time... But will make up for lost time (videos) and binge lol
That’s so sweet of him! I have a yellow sided green cheek conure female that just turned 1... she can be so sweet one minute , then just bite me out of the blue! She is really teaching me patience! And I’ve raised 3 kids! Lol But your advice is helping me tramendously, Sometimes I think it’s hormonal. She has recently gone through her first moult, I had a cockatiel that never bit me, and I hope I can get to that level with her! She was a hand fed baby that I brought home when she was ready, so she’s good with hands and I’ve been able to teach her a few tricks .. I’m pretty sure she’s bonded to me, but the nippyness is difficult! I’ll keep watching your videos,! Thanks for sharing it all! Your Quaker is also so pretty!
Victoria, this is so true, all of what you said! I have been working/ training with Jake my gcc, and some of the things you just said I need to put into my plan. You have so much GREAT tips, some I already do, but now I have more ideas because of you huney!! Your the best birb mom and mom to your beautiful daughter!! Can't wait for more of your videos. Thank you so much. P.s. Jake will be nine months old soon! I can get him to come to me each time but didn't train him to go back, soo glad you showed that!!! 😘😘👍👍👍👍
Awee thank you Carol!!! Glad I was able to help some 😊 can't believe lil Jake is going to be 9 months already!!!! Thank you so much for the compliments that was all very kind to say ❤️ I hope you and Jake have a good week!
i am a bit confused cause birds are not pack animals. they are flock animals, so they dont have an alpha or a leader that they listen to. Treat training will work for sure but other than that theyre not gonna sit in the cage and wait for you to take them out. they do whatever they want. i think thats also why they develop feather plucking behavior or biting the cage all the time or things like that. so i think its the best to treat them with their own natural instincts/behavior but also should be considering their character. well this is my idea but correct me if im wrong please.
I do have some experience as a 🐦 owner and have trained multiple birds before. My nephew and niece just rehomed their dusky headed conure to me, and he's a biter. Not too defensive in his cage, loves head rubs, will NOT step up. Lot of work ahead. He's only been here a couple of days, but there does already seem to be some trust. I also have the most precious, but needy, cockatiel imaginable. Hoping Baby can help model good behavior for Skittles. Integrating them into a cohesive happy flock will be a challenge.
Hello Victoria you know when you said about putting your finger out and see your bird go to that finger I done that to my budgie he thought it was great fun he would hang upside down on my finger so funny.
I really appreciate this video. I was given a GCC and it’s been a learning experience. After watching this video I’m happy that I’ve been doing a lot right. I’d like to work on target training and teaching my bird not to chew on the door frames.
So my bird is really weird, he goes with me literally about anywhere, hes always on my shoulder or head. He bites a lot and im trying to break him off it. Also he likes picking at my scar on my neck. (My neck is fused from an accident where i broke it). Hes also not good in cages what so ever he always trys to break out because the previous owner has always let him sleep literally in her bed... so all the trust is there with Remi. Hes not clipped/leashed anything but is always on my shoulder. Hes an amazing bird i just need more control and i dont wanna over whelm/stress him out.. any help would be amazing.
I would have to say that your advice regarding taming and disciplining green cheek Conures is the best I have heard on UA-cam. I bought a green cheek plus another Conure of unusual colour online. The seller has moved away and I am unable to contact him. Neither bird was fully tamed, I have persevered so far, but now I am at a loss. A breeder of large parrots told me that I will have no hope of taming either now that they have mated. I am also at a loss as to what to do if the eggs hatch. I know that the adult birds will know how to raise them,, however, if I wanted to tame them, without having to take them away from their parents when I put them back in the breeding box will the parents still accept them? There is nothing, so far, on youtube that gives this type of advice!
Aweee thank you Lorraine!!! This was so motivating and kind to read thank you for taking the time to say this. Well for your situation, I don't have as much experience in. Hopefully soon I can work alongside a knowledgeable breeder that can teach me. What I have noticed and been told though, is the parents not accepting is a myth. They don't rely on smell as a form of recognizing their hatchlings. So I wouldn't worry about whether the parents accept them but still definitely look into this! Youll have to decide to how and when you are going to start taming the babies. For example if you're wanting to do all the handfeeding yourself, coparent, or let the parents take care of them. Its a tricky process no doubt! Very overwhelming for sure but if there is anything I can do to help let me know :)
Thank you so much for replying, Victoria. You are an inspiration with your advice. I will try to look into it as much as I can but information just isn't available. I am elderly and disabled, so hand-feeding is not an option. I will let you know if I find out more, also, what I decided to do that is best for the hatchlings and parents first and then myself Thank you again!
I wish I trained kiwi in this way, she had issues with respect and such. For awhile she got real aggressive over her food and so I started feeding her in a different way and managed to teach her patience but I feel I could of built a better bond if I trained her more (kiwi is unfortunately no longer with me but I can apply this info to the next bird I get 😊) Great video 👍
I would love to do target training for my green cheek, I've only had her about 6 days, but her wings are clipped, how else can I train her to listen? She's only 7 months old.
I've had my bird a few months and I like to think we have a bond starting but it needs work (of course) I try target training he does but sometimes he bites me instead of taking the treat But when I have a fresh fruit he will eat the fruit and not bite me. Feels like I'm doing something wrong. My husband and I are Patient that's not an issue. He likes to hop on my arm shimmy till he reaches my neck then nuzzle me. He gently nips my neck, still hurts but he is showing restraint
You're extremely knowledgeable. This is psychology 101! Love it. Just subscribed. The passion and love you put into your birds and these videos, huge respect and props.
Wow this is the first time I have seen u. I am having these exact issues. Like I love my green conure, Mango. So during day he started to get tired and rolls on his back to play. We do peek a boo, a light rub on tummy and a few other things but he always bites hard. Drives me crazy. The only other thing is he loves to lean his head in my ear and rest. But if I'm touching something he wants or don't like he attacks my ears. Bed time is a dream and after 12 hours sleep he gets up and we tuck in sweater and rttgt5....,
I have a 4 month old conure. he doesn't play with most things I get him. and when he sits with me most times he cut sit still. or likes to pinch around my face and neck. but I'm constantly say no.
I have 4 conures about one year old. When I let them out they want to fly everywhere and I have to bend over backwards to get them in their cage. They hardly take treats from my hand. Where should I begin? Ty
Thank you again💗. I’m figuring out which type of bird is a good match for me. Your conure green cheek is super friendly and your Quaker isn’t. Another person on UA-cam has the opposite experience. Her Quaker is super affectionate. Her daughter mushes that bird up it’s so sweet and he just lets her.. Again some seem super affectionate while others are stand offish. Ugh... The conure is particular. I then am also looking at ring neck parrots. I’d like a talker but one I can make a bond with is keyI want to make the right decision. I’m looking to adopt an older bird. I’m over 50. Hope to live to 100! But I’d still like to outlive my parrot and share. It’s hard in nyc all organizations are out of town Any thoughts to share? Thanks again.
I have a green cheek named Nessie who I have had about a little over a month now. She lets me feed her from my hand and when got her she was clipped so she only steps up when she flies and wants help back to her cage. She is so nice and has never bit me or anyone else. We never chase her and always let her come to us. The problem is that she isn't interested in the treats and just wants to preen my arm or finger. She is very gentle, but won't step up. She does the same thing to my shirts or sweaters. Any advice on this?!
Hi looove ur channel I have a 3 month old turquoise gcc and she’s pretty hand tame but I’ve had heard 5 days I have 5 yrs experience and gcc r my fav but how long of times outs for her when she’s nipping?? I looove her and used to rescue and re tame then rehome she’s my personal birb lol first few days she was chill and loooved head rubs she still is chill just curious and when she puts too much pressure like on my lip then she gets mad when I make her stop lol she’s fine but just wanted to know she just got weened but adorable colors don’t matter to me I pick my personality but a turquoise is a bonus
Great advice! We love our birds we do research to ensure that they are safe happy and healthy and have the best quality of life. That being said they do need boundaries. I watched one of your other videos where you said your human children will always come first. Thats good. I think you have such good balanced views on this. I heard another parrot utuber who i love nonetheless say that you should always put your birds needs above your own. I love love my little parrot who looks just like Popples by the way however i dont allow him to fly through the house crazy. I dont allow him to poop all over the house or on my good clothes. I do my best to keep things clean and organized. Good advice to have multiple and designated areas in the home where they are permitted to go. I really think you have such good balanced thoughts on many things even controversial subjects like buying from breeders and pet shops and wing clipping and your super funny too😀 You made a super good point in one of your videos encouraging us to get to the root of the problem with the cycle of abuse and neglect in captive bred birds and the key was EDUCATION. To encourage education and some sort of screening process not to bash all breeders and pet shops. I really appreciate your thoughts and balanced views
Hi Victoria Our green cheek conure won't stay in the cage. He would freak out once he is in the cage. I'm okay to let him be free when im home. But when I go to work, then i would start to get concerned because our house isnt bird proved every where. What should i do? I really look forward to receive advice from you. 💚
Dear Victoria! I bought my GCC less than 2 weeks ago. When is the good time to let him out of the cage? We are "bonding", but not fully bonded yet. Also, his wings aren't clipped. Thanks!
@@blveok oh, yes, absolutely! He is my other, much better half. But he does have moments of aggression, that I just cannot explain. He gets bitey, all of the sudden. I just wait them out. But otherwise, he is all over me. 😘🌷💋👄🌈😮😹
Hi Victoria. We adopted Jaison our Black Capped Conure almost a year ago. The previous owner said he is 11 years old. He used to have a great relationship with me but now flies to me just to bite. He is absolutely fine with my partner now whereas previously he used to bite my partner. The biting and aggression toward me now is rather quite vicious. I’ve watched some of your videos but any help and advice will be appreciated. Thanks! Mags
Ive recently learned the don’t chase rule. My boy Wasabi doesn’t like going back in his cage. I used to chase him and he would get so aggressive I had to get him with a hand towel or a rag. He’s doing a lot better and is learning that he will get out again. He’s learned to trust me. I’m usually the only one to let them out of their cages I feed them I change their water. He’s figured out I Love him and want what’s best for him. Love this video definitely helpful.
Victoria I need your help a green cheek flew to me this summer she was in the wild. Must have gotten out of house from owner. She is so aggressive and bites me. She is very jealous of my sun conure. Help please I want to get rid of her if it doesn’t get better
What is a brand of harness/leash do you reccomend? Also, how long did it take you to get them to trust you enough to put the harness on? I just got my GCC this past weekend. Not sure if M/F, but it has warmed up to me, but have not allowed it out of the cage because we aren't allowed to have animals inside. I have an outdoor cage. I would like to be able to allow it out, but I do not want to have it fly off and get hurt. Thx
im not big on training... but i at least instinctively know to associate sweet tones upon praise and a single word and tone for criticism, bad behavior. Knowing about sanctuary perches and boxes. I am bad with my hands though. I flick his beak when he is very naughty and raise a finger to signal for him to 'stop'. But he does trust my hands, he just knows my tone and signal when he is naughty.
literally hope this works, I've had my conure for just over a year and he is so aggressive towards me, I don't think he's scared cause he literally charges at me or flies over to me just to bite my face, I've tried so many things were for at least two weeks I try and give him treats when he's being good and just flies over and doesn't attack me but then out of nowhere he will fly over just to bite me, I've been told to never hit a bird and to not make a noise when he bites but it's so hard when each and basically every time he bites he draws blood. I'm the only one that gets him out of the cage and have started to try and put him back but never successfully done it without him biting and hanging on. he's never drawn blood on anyone other than me and loves my mum, dad, brother and partner. he used to like me, but ever since he could fly (so about after 8 months old) I've had no success on getting that sweet personality back.
Hello, I just got a green cheek conure and I would like some advices, when he's not accustomed to me and my hand, in the begginning, do I let him to go out the cage? If yes how? Even with a treat or a perch he's going to freak out when I get close the first days. And second, mine is a bit loud and I'm scared he's going to be louder in the future, how do I get him to understand that that's not good? Thanks for your videos, they are so usefull :)
I just got a GCC around 4 days ago and I can hold him but it has to be with both hands other wise he would fly away. I started by going into a small room that was safe for him and opened the cage and let him out and sat there and basically ignored him while he decided to come out of the cage. When he flew onto the floor I tried to grad him( I got too exited so don’t do that) he bit me really hard so i just left him alone for around 10 minutes. Eventually I decided to try to pet him but he wouldn’t let me so I cupped him in my hand against the cage gently. He bit me but he calmed down( conures like to cuddle so that’s we he calmed down) I began to stroke his beak and then moved to his cheek. He then realized that my finger was ok. Now he cuddles up against my neck. I still am trying to get him to step up but he’s not ready. Idk if this is the right way to do it but it worked for me. Hopefully this was helpful☺️
Quaker parrot had a lot of tail fluffing throughout the video. For my 2 GCCs I agreed w/ most except getting them out of the cage for the day. I have a playpen right next to their cage & my younger one perches there very enthusiastically & normally poops there. The older guy usually stays in for awhile nibbling on the ground. Then when done he either joins his buddy or goes to his “bird cave”. I used to have to Chase him out of there if I needed him back in cage but for over a year now he goes into a bowl that’s planted there when I say, “let’s go for a bowl ride”. Sometimes the pliminerary is calling his name, me bending down & we do a bird dance together. Then I say, we’re going to see Lewis. He always wants to see his Lewis. I think it help I’m retired & they see me an awful amt. Lewis who will be 5 next month is mostly over his biting phase but there are moments. I have very fragile skin so I let him no with controlled anger that I am not happy. He will get a mandatory cage time which he actually doesn’t mind. He’s not a super sensitive bird like Cooper is. Well that’s my story. My 2 boys are my kids. By the way, you have a very cute toddler. 😊
I am a new bird owner. My neighbor gave me a 16 year old orange fronted conure she had since a baby. The bird was never really trained and was left in a room by herself with a tv all her life. She was allowed to bite holes in her owners clothes and screech her head off. It is obvious she is very happy to be with people and getting lots of attention. She sits on top of her cage and gets as close to my face as she can without touching me. She copies sounds I makes and talks up a storm but she won’t step up and won’t let me touch her even though she wants to be near me all the time. She is now eating out of my flat open hand but will bite me if I try to bait her to step up. How do I teach her to step up and let me touch her. I have only had her three weeks. Thank you.
Hey I am watching your video and you have same parrots I do. My quacker is 2 years old "Baby" and I was told she will bite the blood out of you. I have just gotten her 2 days ago. She mocks other birds calls. She will say, "not baby, cuse me, pretty bird, and thank you" she cies like a real baby, and the flirting whistle. That all shes done so far she love ms kids she does tricks for them. I am giving her time to adjust to her new surrounding before I try to get her out of he cage. Now my Conure "Harry" 3 years old loves for me to cup my hand over him on my chest and sing him children songs, getting on my shoulder, getting in my hair while he grooms it, and perching on my head. Harry loves children quiet kids he will also show the tricks. I have had for 2 months now. I think they maybe smitten with each other. However, for right now I will keep them separated.
I have a Green Cheek Conure and I'm new to the bird world. He so far has allowed me to pet him and talk to him while talking back. Recently after having him for about 4 weeks and he being about 4 months old bit me while perching on my arm. This has caused me to be nervous around him so hes shyd away from me letting him pet him. How do I fix this?
I really enjoyed this video and has really helped me understand how to discipline my bird. I have a Pineapple Green Cheek Conure named Kiwi and he is very mean to others and sometimes to me. He is now 4 years old and I’m worried that it may be too late to train him. I just wanted to ask if it was too late to train him.
I'm so happy it helped you!!! I bet your lil pineapple is adorable. Wendy it totally right it's never too late ☺️☺️ it's actually great though that you're concerned and asking. You can totally do this. You've got this!!!
Hi we are thinking about getting a bird. We are first time bird owners and are wanting to get a low maintenance bird that is on the quiet side that will also make a strong bond with you. Would a green cheek conure or a cocketiel be better for this?
Hi, sorry burst your bubble, but there is no such thing as a "low maintenance parrot", it takes a lot of love, training, time, patience, and more. Maybe you shouldn't get one, unless you don't have these exceptions. If you have time and everything else I said ,then do get one.
@@carolhartley4448 Thank you for replying. By low maintenance I was trying to ask if either of Them can spend more time on their own and can entertain themselves. I appreciate your comment though
@@carolhartley4448 I do agree with you, but many birds are easier than others and I think Cesia was just asking which was even the tiniest bit easier. I have two of my own adorable budgies.
Hey Vic, I'm loving your witty but very helpful videos. We have just adopted a green cheeks conure, she is super sweet but she is on a secret mission to destroy my engagement ring, she also enjoys plugging my partner's hair which is hilarious but he is quickly becoming bald. Do you have any tips how to stop these habits?
Hi Victoria! Thank you for your videos. On top of enjoying you I learn from them So out of all the videos I watched on stopping conure biting, you are the correct one to ask this question.. I have a pineapple green cheek conure that will be 1 soon. In any case, in certain cases when they bite you hard out of nowhere and keep doing it, I want to put her in her cage and say we don't bite. If you bite you go down. HOWEVER, she apparently did not read the instructions where if you cover them w a towel, they release or more easily release bc they can't see and then you can put them back. She does not losen her feet AT ALL and bites hard through the towel. I don't remember this w my first one. Do you have this and can you please give advice??!! THANKS!!! (and happy new year!!!)
I adopted a green cheek conure which the vet says could be 1-5 yrs old, he's full flighted and isnt scared of hands or humans, (he'll land on anyone) and he knows how to step up BUT he will ask for head skritches and then with no warning just chomp down on my fingers hard enough to break skin and draw blood violently, he seems to LOVE to chew through skin. Could he still in the nippy phase? or possibly hormones?
Oh wow! Yeah that doesn't sound like the nippy phase at all. That sounds like hormones and/or he needs to be taught to cut that out. If we don't stop it early on when he's kind of testing the waters with biting so to speak, it can escalate into something worse. I'm actually making videos on biting as we speak 😅
@@VictoriaRyann when my little guy Pepper gets to be a bitey Boy I tell him nope and put him in his cage . i give him a minute and let him know that I am mad . then I let him back out and he is good for a little bit lol
You look super cute. I'm loving the minimal eye makeup. Disney princess doe eyes. Lol. But.... Moving on. Great video- per usual. Thank you for putting in several major things... * Not in order of your video but... Awesome points 1. all birds are different and require different methods of bonding, training, and play. 2. You have to establish authority in order to have authority! (Well said) 3. Enrich their lives, give them things to do and experiences. 4. Establish trust first! 5. Hands are for POSITIVE - only! Annnnnd... The piece de resistance..... Birds are a conveyer belt of doodoo
Hi Victoria, I got a 7 month old nan-sun conure named Loki. I have been watching your videos tryin to learn how to work with him. He is very active. He just want to be on you and run around nibbling and being nippy. then he bites aggressive when ever you try to make him stop. Any advice?. I think I have bonded well he will sleep cuddled in my hand on his back lol
Hey there victoria I was just wondering what it means when a green cheek conure shakes there head side to side or bobs. It happens when I'm playing music or she will mirror it when I do it. I'm wondering if its playful or aggressive?
You are entirely correct. Excellent video with lots of good advice. Behavior training every day is the key to green cheeks, in my opinion. Station and recall, step up, step down, and target training are the foundation. They need a firm hand. All parrots are challenging but In the words of a lady who has bred and hand raised green cheeks in her home for years: "green cheeks are bullies". Stay calm and carry treats.
Hi there, I’m having some difficulty with my older Green Cheek, he is 3 and I’m noticing some new negative behaviors. He is being more territorially aggressive towards things I give attention too, like my water bottle or a tissue. He is becoming more aggressive and biting when I drink my water, blow my nose w a tissue, etc while he’s on me. We have been in a home transition for a while and I think he is pretty hormonal. I’m also pregnant and wondering how he’ll behave when my attention is on the baby, epically If he’s becoming more territorial with me. The training I’ve done before doesn’t seem to work well for this situation, usually when he bites I put him in the other room alone for a while and that’s been enough to teach him. That doesn’t seem to work lately. What should I do to switch these neg behaviors?
My pineapple green cheek conure loves me. I know that because he is possessive of me. Most of the time he will step up and and just be with me doing anything but randomly he goes crazy. Why does he do that? Meaning he will bite and not let go. And it is out of no where.
You clearly have no idea how to care for your parrot and you didn’t even research, you shouldn’t have a bird, they take time and effort and without the proper care they will die

After MONTHS (or years, not sure) of wanting a bird im finally getting two green cheeks and i couldn't be more excited
i am a bit confused cause birds are not pack animals. they are flock animals, so they dont have an alpha or a leader that they listen to.
Thank you so much for all of your videos
You love your birds that is nice glad your bk xxxx

I really appreciate this video. I was given a GCC and it’s been a learning experience.
After watching this video I’m happy that I’ve been doing a lot right. I’d like to work on target training and teaching my bird not to chew on the door frames.

Great information for me -. Thanks!
Ahhhh so happy to hear! Thank you and hope you have a great week
Thank you a lot for this "how to" video
I will let you know if I find out more, also, what I decided to do that is best for the hatchlings and parents first and then myself
Thank you again!
Another great video, hello 👋 to Yoshi and Popples, and mother birb.
I wish I trained kiwi in this way, she had issues with respect and such. For awhile she got real aggressive over her food and so I started feeding her in a different way and managed to teach her patience but I feel I could of built a better bond if I trained her more (kiwi is unfortunately no longer with me but I can apply this info to the next bird I get 😊)
Great video 👍
I would love to do target training for my green cheek, I've only had her about 6 days, but her wings are clipped, how else can I train her to listen? She's only 7 months old.
Your fids are beautiful.. and your daughter is just adorable.. aww xxx
Thank you very much Lisa! They all are so special to me 🥰
Hi can you tell me will a Rossela get on with a conier parrot
I've had my bird a few months and I like to think we have a bond starting but it needs work (of course) I try target training he does but sometimes he bites me instead of taking the treat
But when I have a fresh fruit he will eat the fruit and not bite me.
I appreciate your videos. You do a great job explaining "bird stuff"! Did you stop making videos or get a new channel?
What is a good treat to use when training my green cheek conure?

What treats do you use for training
I have 4 conures about one year old. When I let them out they want to fly everywhere and I have to bend over backwards to get them in their cage. They hardly take treats from my hand. Where should I begin? Ty
What do you use for treats for Yoshi?

Got my sun conure this weekend and was able to get her out the cage on my shoulder I'm in love
When my bird acts up, i just leave the room and she hates when i do that, but it works for me. when she calms down, i come back and talk to her
I have a green cheek named Nessie who I have had about a little over a month now.
Do u have any time to stop a conure to stop bitting nippy on me wen I try to hold him .. thank u
Could be many different reasons and without some more info I wouldn't be able to tell! How old and what gender? Is this the only time it's nippy?
She or he is about 5 months don’t know the gender I had my conure for a week or so .. may it be that the bird is still a baby ?
oh yeah! shes more than likely still in her nippy phase. congrats on a new lil birdy :)))

Best video I’ve seen!

Our green cheek conure won't stay in the cage. He would freak out once he is in the cage. I'm okay to let him be free when im home. But when I go to work, then i would start to get concerned because our house isnt bird proved every where. What should i do? I really look forward to receive advice from you. 💚

Thx
Hey , what are you giving your bird as his treat
im not big on training... but i at least instinctively know to associate sweet tones upon praise and a single word and tone for criticism, bad behavior.
If I had a parrot like that our family would be having conure stew...
I like the name Yoshi. Greetings from Chica🥰
I am working on trust with fuzzy to groom the head
What is the treat you use to train your bird? Food name?
I have a Green Cheek Conure and I'm new to the bird world. He so far has allowed me to pet him and talk to him while talking back. Recently after having him for about 4 weeks and he being about 4 months old bit me while perching on my arm. This has caused me to be nervous around him so hes shyd away from me letting him pet him. How do I fix this?

Hi we are thinking about getting a bird. We are first time bird owners and are wanting to get a low maintenance bird that is on the quiet side that will also make a strong bond with you. Would a green cheek conure or a cocketiel be better for this?
Probably a cockatiel
Hi, sorry burst your bubble, but there is no such thing as a "low maintenance parrot", it takes a lot of love, training, time, patience, and more. Maybe you shouldn't get one, unless you don't have these exceptions. If you have time and everything else I said ,then do get one.
@@carolhartley4448 Thank you for replying. By low maintenance I was trying to ask if either of Them can spend more time on their own and can entertain themselves. I appreciate your comment though

Hey we have the same kind of conure!
Hi Victoria! Thank you for your videos. On top of enjoying you I learn from them
So out of all the videos I watched on stopping conure biting, you are the correct one to ask this question..
You make great and very informational videos :)
Thank you!!! I really appreciate that and hope you have a fantastic day 🥰
Victoria Ryann thanks .😀
I hope its soon, I'm running out of bandages! by brother said "he ain't scared he's spoiled"

But.... Moving on. Great video- per usual.
Thank you for putting in several major things...
* Not in order of your video but... Awesome points
1. all birds are different and require different methods of bonding, training, and play.
2. You have to establish authority in order to have authority! (Well said)
3. Enrich their lives, give them things to do and experiences.
4. Establish trust first!
5. Hands are for POSITIVE - only!
Annnnnd... The piece de resistance..... Birds are a conveyer belt of doodoo
Thanks for the tips! I hear lots about positive enforcement but not a lot about "punishments"
Btw you and your daughter are so cute!!!

I need help my bird keeps biting me, I’m trying to get him to rest on me but he bites me
Hi there, I’m having some difficulty with my older Green Cheek, he is 3 and I’m noticing some new negative behaviors.
