Thanks for all the very useful and informative advice, ive just recently bought a xf jaguar that im putting back on the road and i dont have a owners manual or a clue about any of the features
you prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my account password. I love any help you can give me
@Jayce Jacob Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I love the way you read the manual and translate it into a very comprehensive and easy tutorial. I am fan. I have a petrol V6 xf 2009, and when I press the mic button for voice recognition, it says, "voice not ready", what I noticed that I don't have the navigation cd inserted in the cd loader, does it have something to do with that message, "voice not ready"
Hey there. Voice recognition relies on your voice. The Nav CD doesn't affect this. You need to go into the voice tutorial and say a bunch of commands that the system will prompt you to say, once you have completed that, the voice recognition will work ;)
@@carfanfan thank you so much for your precious reply, I just checked quickly the manual, and you are absolutely right like always in tour tutorials, I will do so and get back to you tomorrow, I am from Morocco, in North Africa, whenever you plan to visit our country, I will be glad to be your guide, and in the capital city, no need for you and your family to reserve an hôtel, you are my guest at my mansion house located near thé beach
My 2009 Jaguar XF trunk lid does not open with my smart key or the button in side car, It can only be opened by using the manual key. Is it control by a fuse and where is the fuse. thanks.
Check your manual where it lists all the fuses to see if there is a trunk fuse. I can't remember now. But on my car I don't think there was a fuse for it. It's probably the latch that's faulty and needs replacing. I'd just get one from a salvage yard or buy used on eBay.
Hi Hilton, my Jag Xf is displaying tpms system fault, I've checked air pressure and still can't get it to clear it's a 2010 Jag, any ideas that may help?
Hey there. Sounds to me like you have a dead battery in the TP sensor. You can buy cheaper ones on eBay because the Jag ones will set you back quite a bit. The batteries usually last 10 years or so, so it sounds like it's just about that time that they will fail. Mine will probably fail next year. Once you replace them, you must drive the car for a few miles for it to pick up the sensors and calibrate them, then your fault will go away.
I have a 2011 Range Rover Sport 5ltr V8 and it too has a hidden menu like the Jaguar XF. Thanks for all this information because I'm in the process of grabbing a 2009 Jaguar XF so thoroughly researching about this luxury vehicle.
Congrats on your purchase - you are going to love that car and one day when you want to replace it, it won't be easy. The XF is a unique car and there's nothing like it.
Asif Siraj Hey Asif, nope. They aren't very bright and I don't want to install anything that looks aftermarket on my XF. The subtle changes I've made still look factory 😁
I have seen those as well, but there are actually weaker than the others. A guy on the Jaguar Forums tried them and ended up having to replace the LED's with much brighter ones. Considering the cost, its really not worth it to me.
I have a 2010 jaguar xf premium and I can seem to get my phone to play music through my car. Any idea what it can be? I'm able to connect the phone for calls
@@paulwalsh4236 First thin is, does your XF have folding mirrors? The way to check is by pressing both left and right buttons next to the mirror adjust stalk on the door - if they fold in or out, then you have it and it will require an OBDII connection to a laptop to change the display to display the option for turning auto fold on or off. If the mirrors don't react when pressing both those buttons, you don't have folding mirrors.
To be honest I don't really know. Mine had the older user interface but I would think if you go to vehicle settings it would be somewhere in there. If you don't have options for it then your car wasn't fitted with it. Mine just always worked and would sense the key in my pocket. It had sensors behind the grab handle and 7 ultra sonic sensors to sense the key all around the car.
hey hilton, great videos. do you know how to turn off the annoying beeping sound when you start the car and the door is open / when you are not wearing a seatbelt? I got a 2008 XF 4.2 best regards Lukas
werbin ich Hey there. Unfortunately you cannot turn off that annoying sound 😁. The reason why is the airbag will kill you if you're in an accident with no seat belt to restrain you. Its better to wear it. Your in a very safe car.
@@emmanueljohnson9014 unfortunately you can't go on the manual. Each cars VIN will give the pr codes for the options fitted. Look in the trunk on the left if you can find the DVD player that houses the nav.
@@carfanfan okay, thanks, one more thing , the speedometer is not lit at nights , i find it diffcult to drive as a result , is there anyway to turn lights on the speedometer?
@@emmanueljohnson9014 If all your lights on the dash are dark, then it's the dimmer that is set to low. It's a little wheel located by the trunk release on the lower dash next to the steering wheel on the door's side. Turn it the other way and it should light up.
Yeah, another great video. Hi, Hilton how do you change the outside temperature showing on the screen? It is the wrong temperature. I think it came when I was messing around, and my battery got real low, and I had to jump the car to get it started . Please help.
Deborah Saddler Hey there. It sounds like you have a bad temp sensor. You will have to remove the bumper to get to it. sits behind the splitter/lower grill on the front bumper, and is secured by the same bolt that holds the Power Steering intercooler in place. It looks like a large pipe cleaner (about 2"-2.5" in diameter). Usually when they go really bad, your temp readings will be extremely cold when its hit and visa versa. This will also affect the heating and cooling inside the car so its best to sort out sooner rather than later 😉
Deborah Saddler it may help leaving the battery disconnected for half an hour and this will reset everything. I had lots of weird electrical issues going on and I realised my battery was starting to die. After fitting a new battery all those issues stopped. The only thing you will have to do afterwards is retrain the electric windows to go up and down all the way at a single touch of the switch if that was your preference. You will also loose your mpg and mileage statistics.
Michael Sapsford Oh that's a magnetic disc where my mp3 player attaches. It plugs into my aux socket and situated there I can flick through songs easily without being distracted 😁
What I didn't know is that my Jaguar was designed to fall apart and die a slow, painful and expensive death beginning at around 86000 miles. At 107K I feel it may be time to send the old lady off to pasture. :(
Hilton - the headliner fell, Bluetooth quit working, random TPMS failures, second water pump, random infotainment system reboot cycling for weeks and then no problems for months. I have the supercharged 5.0 and it is still very fast and looks great. There’s just too many minor but expensive issues to contend with.
@@BullisticFan yeah, I'm afraid the supercharged 3.0 and 5.0 both suffer water pump failures often. They are beautiful cars bit you do need a deep bank account to keep them. I'm currently looking at a 25t Jaguar XE R. It's light on fuel, powerful and has that wonderful maintenance plan. Without one, a Jag is a liability unfortunately. The naturally aspirated 3.0 XF is muchore reliable though if you still want one but the infotainment system is just too date for me now. The 2017 XE is a good buy in diesel and petrol especially since the first owner suffered that awful depreciation 😜
@@BullisticFan Hey, congrats David. I wanted to buy one too but maintenance is expensive on them so I'll have to love them from afar. But you enjoy your XFR it's a logical step up 😉👍
