I recall walking into the record store (Our Price) back in 95 at launch of this album (to buy this album)... and they were already playing it over the in-store speakers, and this song was the current one playing. Hadn't heard 'Fade Away' yet of course but instantly recognized Damon's voice (and the Terry Hall influence) and knew it was gonna be a great day! Thanks Blur (for everything)
as far as albums go, i think 13 is my favorite by just a little bit, but all of the others are about tied. consistent band, havent heard any songs i didnt like

In 1995 when this came out i was in my early 20 and thought it was a heartbreaking song 52 (in two weeks) married 9 yrs and 2 young kids ..... And mate i REALLY get this song now
Miss America , He thought of cars , For tomorrow , Best days of our lives - would be my faves as far as I can tell ( beside others , which will always be the " problem " with real good bands ... many choices make sense . thx ^^ Blur )
@@Flamestar320 Really? I thought both Gallagher brothers couldn't stand Damon. At least back in the day anyway. I believe Noel and Graham got on pretty well.
@@EarlOfMaladyCrescent Yes, they got along well enough for Noel to work with Damon on "We Got The Power" from Gorillaz' _Humanz_ album, and Damon has stated that if Noel were to make another solo album that Damon would be more than happy to work with him on a track.
@@Flamestar320 That's great. Thanks for the info. To be honest, I never got any Gorillaz stuff after Plastic Beach. I think there are plenty of great songs on that album, but it seems to have moved away from the Gorillaz theme, (as in; the instruments the Gorillaz characters play in the band). It seems like Plastic Beach should be a Damon Albarn solo album.

by far the most underrated blur song. easily my favourite
my god that bassline
Partially the guitar is in the mix of the bass, so it is a guitar/bass rhythm.
Monster of a bassline
the trumpets go so well in this, under rated tune

Alex James knocks another one into the cheap seats. This album has aged to perfection. It’s like some demented yet incredibly tuneful musical.
Uhmm... I really like this one, the bass in this album slaps... Underrated tune imo
quite a Terry Hall/Specials feel to this one. One of my absolute favourite blur tracks
Felt the same thing and went to see if someone else noticed that. I know that Damon loves The Specials
I believe the working title of this song was ‘Rico’ ! (like The Specials’ trombonist)
This could definitely fit in on the album More Specials, it’s very heavily inspired by them.
And Top Man a hat tip to the Fun Boy Three! Love the references. Spot on.
This song is so unappreciated
in this song you can ear some inspiration taken from jamaican music to the britpop, lovers rock and early reggae sound in england
Sounded more like bossa nova to me haha
Well, that's not early reggae soung in england. The Clash done it in late 70s
The bass is strong on this one
How can you not like this song damn
a bit of 'Madness' with Blur, love it!
Exactly!
the great escape is like take parklife and make it better *but stills underrated*
For me it's more like take Parklife and make it more depressing. This album feels painfully bleak. I agree that it's highly underappreciated though
as far as albums go, i think 13 is my favorite by just a little bit, but all of the others are about tied. consistent band, havent heard any songs i didnt like
Esto es una maravilla, una cancion para las almas mas solitarias.
Linda percepción. Yo diría que para los que no buscan la típica vida matrimonial absurda y que con los años se desgasta
"Their birth had been the death of them,
It didn't really bother them
" What an amazing couple of lines.
definitely one of if not my favourite on the album
One of my fav Blur’s album
Fade away, while we're living, the dreams we have as children fade away
I can't believe they never play this in live
they did. Check the budokan live from Great Escape tour. But I agree with you it's sad they don't play it again.
They stumbled into their lives
In a vague way became man and wife
One got the other
They deserved one another
They settled in a brand new town
With people from the same background
They kept themselves busy
Long hours left them dizzy
Now when
He's in
She's out
All you ever do is fade away
All you ever do is fade away
He's not making plans
'Cause now they understand
All you ever do is fade away
He noticed he had visible lines
She worried about her behind
Their birth had been the death of them
It didn't really bother them
Now when
She's in
He's out
All you ever do is fade away
All you ever do is fade away
She's not making plans
'Cause now she understands
All you ever do is fade away
When
He's in
She's out
All you ever do is fade away
All you ever do is fade away
They're not making plans
'Cause now they understand
He must learn to forget
Because this is all you'll ever get
All you ever do is fade away
All you ever do is fade away
All you ever do is fade away
They're not making plans
'Cause now they understand
All you ever do is fade away
My favourite blur song 👌🎧💥
Great song. One of my favourite Blur numbers.
In 1995 when this came out i was in my early 20 and thought it was a heartbreaking song
52 (in two weeks) married 9 yrs and 2 young kids ..... And mate i REALLY get this song now
not my favorite but so chill and Dami's voice is everything
It's very Dexy's Midnight Runners i think. Good song
Miss America , He thought of cars , For tomorrow , Best days of our lives - would be my faves as far as I can tell ( beside others , which will always be the " problem " with real good bands ... many choices make sense . thx ^^ Blur )
At least I'm not the only one who calls him Damie
OMG I LOVE IT
Soo good!!
Climbed on the date of my birthday. Thanks Blur!!!!!
This is my favourite Fugazi song
Brilliant tune 😀👍🏻😎
wonderful
Good work...great horns!!
bestblurtune
si, the great escape fu una ottima sorpresa, molto riuscita, tutti i brani, molto belli, il brano di eccellenza The Universal
The trombone always makes me laugh for some reason.
That's a little odd
Thats instrument have a beautifull lazy sound
love it
โหย ซาวน์โคตรดีเลย
This song is
***** Freakin stellar
da shit
Read the title
You can hear the influence of Madness a lot here.
I'd say more The Specials, but yes ska either way!
I can see the influence of both. The horns are very Specials, but that piano solo is pure Mike Barson.
Oasis 🤝 blur
Making songs called fade away

And swamp song
Their most Ska song
Some Might Say this is a better album than Parklife
Some might say sunshine follows thunder
Thats because it is
I'm one of those
This has plastic beach vibes
In a more playful, more guitar-y way.
The synth is almost identical to doncamatic
Gorillaz sound like Blur.
@@racht.bremen3125 i mean damon albarn worked on both of them so
Por que nunca había escuchado esta canción 😿
excellent !
💛
This song need in Gorillaz album Plastic Beach
Fade Away, My favourite Oasis song
Adam James! That. Is. All.
that one dislike tbfh
I see you everywhere lol

it has ruined my whole week tbqh
It's mad but i like it

The day gorillaz was born
How
This and globe again
This was quite the while before Gorillaz, but I notice what you're getting at. Pure Alburn.
Blur is so fucking better than gorillaz..
I’d argue the opposite... both are incredible though and damon is a genius
Both are great but I prefer Blur because... COXON
And the bass of Alex and the drum of Dave
Ska ?
Yes. Like Mr Robinson Quango

Sounds like the Devil.
What's that supposed to mean
I usually prefer Blur over Oasis but Fade Away by Oasis is way better song
