    FINALLY a good video on this. Been trying to find a video to show my friend to explain how we don gloves working at my pharma firm and all the others are terrible, dragging thumbs against their arms and stuff.

    Can you please do a surgical gloves video explaining the difference in surgical glove sizes between the size 6 sterile surgical gloves and the size 61/2 sterile surgical gloves because i want to see what the difference in size is and if you prefer a size 61/2 surgical glove over a size 6 surgical glove

    • @GillianLeighClarkRN

      I prefer to wear a 6 1/2 over and a 7 under glove. This is most comfortable for me. I'm afraid much like shoe sizes, you need to find what fits you. In the meantime, here's a handy sizing chart for you to check out: www.palmflex.com/glove-sizing.html

    Nurse Clark, would you be willing to share this video with me? I teach an Aseptic Techniques course at the University of Alberta and this video is the best example of open glove I can find.

      Mouse Lady Hi Mouse Lady. I’m sorry but I didn’t get a notification of your message. You are more than welcome to share my video providing you credit me appropriately. Is that what you are asking?

      Yes please - but if you could share the file with me? I can't log on to UA-cam in my classroom.

      Mouse Lady can you show me what it is you teach? You understand that although my videos are to benefit everyone, I want to stay in control of them. I would like to confirm your teaching accreditation.

      I absolutely understand your position - I can send you the course outline if you wish?

      Nurse Clark - I just wanted to let you know that I switched class rooms and am now able to use your UA-cam video directly. All of my students since just love your tutorial (and your accent!). Thank you again.

    how come these gloves are green and not white as seen in the surgery?

    • @GillianLeighClarkRN
      @GillianLeighClarkRN  2 роки тому +1

      The green gloves are “indicator” under gloves. They show brightly (indicate) whenever there is a puncture in the top glove. Under gloves also feel very smooth. So it’s easy to wear two pairs.

    But you touched the inside of your gloves with your thumbs?

    • @GillianLeighClarkRN
      @GillianLeighClarkRN  3 роки тому

      Thai is not a problem. The hands are clean. The inside is ultimately unsterile. I’m not sure why you think this is an issue. Perhaps you can explain what the problem is.

      @@GillianLeighClarkRN my instructors say the same thing as this person, because I put my thumb down on the cuff while I’m sliding mg fingers under the cuff so the paper doesn’t move and my instructors said that is wrong. But I argued that why is it wrong because the cuff is still sterile at this point. They couldn’t give me reasoning aside from “the book said so” the book is vague and practice more than 1 nursing skills book. I have a check off on putting on sterile gloves and inserting a Foley catheter. Worried I will fail because I put my thumb down.

      @@Nooorrriii I’m afraid I can’t comment on the way you are taught. This is the way I teach it. Surely it can be plainly seen that you do not contaminate the sterile field or the outside of the gloves. I’m sorry to say, to pass your exam you will need to do what is required in your area but In learning, questioning technique must be allowed. If they can give good reason for the practice they teach then follow their reason.
      I share my skills and knowledge in the hope to better educate people but my practice is also constantly developing.
