I would like to add a small step which is performed in many hospitals. Right about the 11:36 mark in this Part 2 video, a sterile seal is affixed to the needle port in the bag to protect it from the environment.
A media field test is employed to assess the appropriateness of IV room employees performing the techniques you've shown here. The vials/bags/syringes prepared are then set aside and compared at a future date for growth. If no growth is detected, the candidate is issued a passing grade. This process could be repeated if a candidate fails the initial test accordance to facility protocols. Thank you!
