    Turn predator Bay into community tank...would look great from all sides very active and colourful. Probably hard having fish in different rooms as you just wanna be sitting in them all at the same time...

      That is a good point that scaping for the smaller fish (smaller than sharks) would allow me to focus on making the tank look really good from all the different sides.

    First of all, those bamboo sharks look huge and amazing! Secondly, yes to a new predator bay. Yes to turning this one into the reef. And then I'd turn the reef slope system into big African Cichlid tanks. Mbuna rock slope in the 600 and peacocks/haps in the in-wall. Exciting stuff man. I'd be enthralled for hours and hours in that basement. You've done some awesome stuff.

    Great vid, as always, your Sharks are getting huge. As we have already discussed, i'm a saltwater guy, and can't wait to see what you have planned for your new saltwater tanks and upgrades. Turning predator bay into the reef slope tank seems lie a win win also. The explosion of movement and color would be eye catching, I'm psyched!

      Yeah the more I think about my large Tangs and Angels living in a 6 foot long tank (even if it is 600 gallons) I just feel it is not big enough...the current Predator Bay will make a much better home for them. Plus I figure the Sharks won't mind an extra 10 feet in length their home lol :-)

    My vote is for a 3000+ gallon predator bay. Throw all of the fish from the 1600g system into the old predator bay and make the 600g a lionfish tank or a marine betta in the 265g

    • @AquariumDomain.

    @dayman-ed1pp Рік тому +1

    Definitely go as big as possible with the new predator bay. A tank that's 4000-10,000 gallons with a large footprint would be pretty neat. Yellowtail Snapper and Atlantic Spadefish could be cool additions as well.

    • @AquariumDomain.
      @AquariumDomain.  Рік тому +1

      Agreed! It is looking like I will be able to do between 3000 to 4000 gallons on the new build, basically will be the same width front to back, but almost twice as long and 1 foot taller.

    • @dayman-ed1pp
      @dayman-ed1pp Рік тому

      @AquariumDomain if possible, make the depth at least 4-5 feet so you have more of a water column for some larger predatory fish. The Jacks will appreciate the room to cruise. Heck, maybe you can get a bonnethead at that point.

    Love that you actually have s tank design set up for the species you're stocking. It drives me crazy watching sharks and rays being housed in short, wide tanks, not conducive to their swimming needs. That being said, looks like some of your swimming lanes are pretty narrow due to coral reefs for the Ray. It would be amazing as a 3000 or bigger for sure.

    • @AquariumDomain.
      @AquariumDomain.  Рік тому +3

      I agree completely, it is important to me that the fish are kept in suitable tanks that can support them for life. At this point I am leaning pretty hard towards upgrading Predator Bay, so my Sharks should have an even larger home in their future. :-)

  • @bengaltiger1667
    @bengaltiger1667 Рік тому +1

    What species do you have in here? Your idea for the new predator bay would be insane! I'd love to see more shark species and more rays. Maybe you could get a large moray (like a green moray) for it. Ultimately it is up to you, though.

      Right now I have 2 x Bamboo Sharks, Horn Shark and a Coral Catshark along with a Haleria Yellow Ray and 3 Groups (Miniatus, Blueline & Blue Dot).
      The big tanks are pretty crazy, but easier for me to care for a smaller number of big tanks than lot's of smaller tanks...so it is working out well so far.
      I thought about a Green Moray for Predator Bay, but I have seen them full size and just felt there were a bit to big...but that won't be the case for the new tank...so who knows :-)

    In a future video can you put a tape measure against the tank to get a measurement of the sharks?

    How big is that marbled cat and horn shark wat r your thoughts about the smooth hound

    • @AquariumDomain.
      @AquariumDomain.  Рік тому +1

      Marbled Catshark is about 2 feet...just had a grow spurt in length and should begin to thicken up more now. At least that is how he has grown thus far...always length first then girth. The Horn Shark is somewhere in the 26 to 28 inch range.
      I do like Smooth hounds and Leopard Sharks, but they really like cooler water...with low / mid 70s being their upper range...so not the best mix with my current stock. I do love how actively they swim though.
      I had a Leopard Shark in the past and she did best when the water was in the mid / upper 60s, also she got to a thick 6.5 foot shark...I had to eventually keep her in a 15 foot pool...too much size to comfortably fit in my aquarium.

  • @Ian-qw1zb

    It looks awesome they're growing so fast, I think you should add a porcupine puffer to predator bay their such characters and nothing messes with them And definitely go bigger.. that 1800 would make a phenomenal reef tank, the only thing I'd be worried about with a reef is the large angels I understand that they like to eat corals and sea anemones..

      @AquariumDomain.  Рік тому

      Thanks! Yeah, the more I think about it the more I really can see the large Angels and Tangs looking amazing in the 1800. The corals that I would keep would only be things that are compatible with my fish...I am definitely fish first...but love the look of corals.
