Seattle | Salt of the Earth 001

Salt of the Earth is a contemplative series of film reels photographing the faces and ordinary moments of humanity. Shot with an unpolished documentary style, these reels are meant not so much to be a perfect story, but a collection of moving images that gaze into the ordinary life of people in a specific place in time.
These reels sit alongside an ongoing set of still images that fit within this project as well. Together, Salt of the Earth is a collection of moving and still images that are contemplative and prayerful, intended to find the Image of God in the ordinary faces, moments, and places of our world.
I shot this first reel last summer during a trip to Seattle with my friend Ryan Abernathy where we spent a lot of our spare time in between shoots walking the streets of Seattle, having coffee, beautiful conversations, and of course, photographing the world around us.

Thank you! They were shot with a Canon R5C and a Canon RF 24-70 2.8, paired with a Schneider 1/8 black magic filter.
