Nice try Rick. Two DNF on one hunt. Been there, done that! I use a Geocaching app on my phone which appears to be better suited for Geocaching than the 67i. On the phone, I actually have access to the cache log book and additional information. The log tells me who placed the cache, when they placed it, its size, when it was last found, and who found it. I always check the log book entries first. If there are many DNFs, I don't bother looking. I have also found the phone app to be extremely accurate. I can turn my phone in circles horizontally and it will still point directly to the hiding spot. Most of the time the cache is hidden under a small pile of rocks, or in a bush. I just look for something that looks out of place for the area. The Micro sites can be difficult to find. They are generally just a small glass cigar container about 6 inches long. They blend into their surroundings really well. The app also tells you the terrain difficulty. (e.g., a hard hike or a 4X4 road, etc., etc.). In the logbook, you can also leave a message for others to read or to notify the site owner that the cache needs some maintenance. On your next hunt, try using the app instead. It's fun and great exercise.

Great tips, and yes, as least I got some exercise and showed people a little more what it's like to go geocaching. It was nice that the weather was so great.

I just checked the log for the Happy Deer site. It says that it was last found on 11/07/2023. It was placed there on 1/1/2023. But the location is about 15 feet off from what is published. No wonder you could not find it.@@outdooremergencytech

Thanks for tip. As of this time, with how busy I am building this UA-cam channel and my website, I don't have much time to play around with geocaching, but it was good to learn about and it was also great getting some good advice and tips from you.
      Thanks,
      Rick
