WHERE is this located? I understand there is a canister under the truck by the gas tank, but also another purge valve on the motor? Where is this one located on a 2017 3.5 ecoboost?
Yes i read about something like that. When engine is cold it should not suck any air until after 5-10 mins (when engine is warmed up) If it does suck air when engine is cold then the purge valve is bad.
@@jerryhernandez698 Mine didn't after 15-20 minutes, kept the engine running and took it on a short 5 minute drive, come back kept engine running and it still was closed..
2018 Santa Fe I have a p0456 I replaced purge valve canister purge valve and gas cap still getting cel I don’t have a smoke machine besides changing canister what could I look for. Emissions is coming up soon
Me too did you ever fix it? I replaced the purge valve and it did fix 1 issue when I fill up the tank it wouldn’t turn on the first try I have the P code and it’s whistling also.
Thanks for the feedback. What exactly did you replace? I have replaced the purge valve but not the piece he is showing that sucks in air. Do you know what it’s called on the ecoboost?
Hi boss, getting code p1450 on 2018 focus 3 cyl 1L. I cannot find purge valve on rockauto for the 3 cyl I only found vent valve. what is the difference. the 4 cyl 2 L model show both purge valve and vent valve available. does the 3 cyl does not have purge valve?
I have the car with those codes, the valve was subduing my finger, I just changed the valve, but the sign of the control engine has not yet been removed from the dashboard, ford c max, how long does it take to remove
At what point does the engine call for The Purge valve to be open? My purge valve is closed with no power applied but when I manually apply 12 volts it opens so it appears that its functioning properly but it will not open with my engine running
If it blows out air from the tube that comes from the gas tank to the engine, then there is ti much pressure in the gas tank, and it's not being vented. So, there might be an issue with the vent system
I have a 2018 ford fusion se and my check engine light is on and my gas tank makes a noise and every time it starts making a noise the engine will shut off. What part do I need to replace ?
@WrenchLink BUT how do you know whether to change juat the solenoid or the whole purge valve line piece that clips in on the ends ? Really hope you see this
Best way to rule out a purge valve is letting the vehicle get to operating temp and remove the hose connected to purge valve. Place your finger over the purge valve outlet that the hose connects to. If it sucks your finger the purge valve is bad
He replaced it. There’s two bolt that is holding the solenoid and It’s an 8 mm and all you gotta do is take it out and replace it with a new one. Pretty easy
Straight to the point! Perfect
Thank you so much!
My Dodge Ram has the same issue p0456 I need to try this to see if works thanks

I looked at another mechanic certified Nissan he says after 10 minutes this Valve should suck vacuum from canister through the command of ECM
Yes i read about something like that. When engine is cold it should not suck any air until after 5-10 mins (when engine is warmed up)
If it does suck air when engine is cold then the purge valve is bad.
He disconnected the harness meaning no commands from Ecm

Ir should have a Purge valve and a vent valve.
Mac, if its not suckin, it could still be bad no? Can i test by pulling vacuum on the valve? If it cant hold vacuum its obviously shite no?😊
Yes, a vacuum test is better or a smoke test
I have the car with those codes, the valve was subduing my finger, I just changed the valve, but the sign of the control engine has not yet been removed from the dashboard, ford c max, how long does it take to remove
If the doesn't have any other issues, it should go away after a couple of drives
You can also take it to a parts store to scan it for codes
How to remove the green quick connect?
Just push it down or use a flat head screw driver

What if it’s blowing out air when the car is on park I got a 2008 Mazda 3 and it does blow air out of it
If it blows out air from the tube that comes from the gas tank to the engine, then there is ti much pressure in the gas tank, and it's not being vented. So, there might be an issue with the vent system
What part did he say this was for? He said it fast and I couldn’t understand it.
Spanglish
Evap purge valve
I chang3d my valve and wd40 sprayed my fuel filler and worked it a hundred times and still no fix. Could it be down by the charcoal canister thing?
I have a transit 250 it's making a lot of noise was that the issue you had
Depends on the noise, but most likely not the purge valve
Does anybody know where the location of this part is on a 2016 ford fusion se 1.5L ecoboost? I cannot find it!
I tought it is supposed to have suction?
Yes, it's supposed to have a suction. A commanded suction by the ECM/engine computer, not a continuous vacuum suction/vacuum leak.
Ok. Thank you for clarification
Why is it there if it's not supposed to
Does this Ford (AU5Z-9C915-E
Part can be used for ford fusion 2017 1.5 Se. Site says yes but my cars evap looks different
What side of the motor is this on I have a 2017 eco boost and when I used the scan tool says the same thing
I changed my but I still keep getting same code p0466
Àfter changing the part, you have to clear the code
wait so if i fill it up and unplug the purge valve before i start it up will it crank up on the first one? or will it still struggle n stall?
how do you disconnect the electrical tab
It has a clip on it use a flat head to prowl it off
I have a 2018 ford fusion se and my check engine light is on and my gas tank makes a noise and every time it starts making a noise the engine will shut off. What part do I need to replace ?
Sounds like fuel pump issues

Maybe unplug the negative to the battery for a few minutes
How did you fix the issue? Is there a video on this

wtf do you people not take a step back so we can see where the part is smh
i changed mine but it wont start at all now
But did the light go off?😂😂😂😂
Don't believe everything in the net one says if sucks is not good anymor and this one says if does is good
It says if it doesn’t suck it’s not good, and he disconnected the connector which means there’s nothing to tell the purge system to open the valve
These cars are so old are they even worth fixing.
The EVAP issue is not too expensive to fix so I'd yes, it's worth fixing them
Not most people can afford a new vehicle bro
@bee2333 I'm asking from a layman's perspective, not an arrogant one.
Its a 2016 lol...
